My tips on making it less boring is to ALWAYS have a Martial Artist on Retaliate. Just one. So it became a gamble of sort, where the more enemy there was, the higher the chance of them hitting the one with Retaliate. You've got 4 character. That's basically a 25% of hitting a Martial Artist on each round. It can be as quick as a single round. It can literally goes on forever. Best thing about it? You can set it to Auto, and does absolutely NOTHING in the battle. All you need is run around.
I didn't even do any of this. I just stuck with a whm and 3 warriors once the rdm and blm fell off Beat Cloud of Darkness at level 50 with a Devout and three JL99 warriors. I could have still used the JL99 whm though because I didn't need curaja or aris. Their hp was around 3000
Yes it does. The first 14 job levels take 5 actions for a level up. After that most jobs need 8-10 actions for a level. Another good trick is if you know you will win a battle without needing the whole party to attack, have them defend. Defend always goes first, so it helps level jobs faster.
