At first Zack *stayed true to his duty* but not knowing the true damage they were causing and even the Wutai generals tried to hire Zack into helping them stop Shinra from damaging innocent countries. Zack became *a hero in the end* and only caring for those he held true to his heart, like Aerith and his own bro, Cloud. If you don't know why he really died, here's why: After a visit to Cloud's hometown and Sephiroth ravages the village in rage after discovering what he really is, Zack went on to fight Sephiroth but lost and Cloud fought too but was also heavily injured but won the fight, throwing Sephiroth down whatever that reactor was. Later on some doctor, I forgot his name, made up a lie saying Zack went all rage and destroyed the village and betrayed and killed his teammates. Soon after that, he took them as test subjects and exposed them to very high amounts of Jenova cells and a lethal dosage of Mako energy that Cloud's body consumed. Zack soon breaks out, carrying Cloud along with him after some years of being experimented on. Nobody to turn to, Zack had to run and Cissnei and Tseng had to hunt him down and kill him as their orders had stated. While Zack is running, he get stopped by Cissnei and easily disarms her. She tries to convince Zack saying how she can just tell the Turks to stop the hunt, but Zack refuses. His story ends with a tragic fate as the Shinra army had found him and his only way is to pay a hefty price for freedom, his life.

Actually... thinking about it... what if this was Zack's way of passing on traits? Anyone infused with JENOVA cells had the power to pass on, or absorb the traits of others. Zack passed on his legacy to Cloud, and Cloud absorbed it, making him who he was at the start of FF7.

Zack wasn't just an overly postitive person, he wanted to give the people hope when they saw him. He was constantly tested; lost his mentor, saw his heroes fall from grace, found love, and faced suicidal odds. Despite everything he endured, he fought to protect his honor and his dreams. Saving Genesis and Cloud, he gave everything for the people he loved no matter how much he was hurting. A true hero.

This theme will always be in my thoughts whenever something sad happens. I think if they're remaking Final Fantasy 7 into multiple parts it could be because they intend on implementing a lot of Crisis Core into FF7. I mean it might sound crazy but the beginning of FF7 might be like a dream sequence which is Crisis Core, seeing it from Cloud's perspective the further into FF7 you go.

The most touching part about this is when Zack memories of his friends,family, and love one start to disappear one by one. While knowing how hard you tired to kill every soldiers on that battlefield,Zack outcome was not gotta change. I was a fan of Cloud, but man after his story. Zack was my favorite afterward throughout the FFVII series.

Worst part for me was that I didn't know it was coming since I played Crisis Core before knowing that much about FFVII story... Never been so broken after finishing a game, since Zack became my favorite videogame character of all time. Crisis Core is still my favorite Final Fantasy, such an amazing journey from beginning to the end

GUTS 141 what if in part 2 of the remake things from alternate timelines intersect and instead of aerith dying again, this new timelines zack steps in because as we see with the one boss that we fight that spits out future versions of our hero’s that we have to fight. Their “future” selves. Plus the creator has said that this time around, things aren’t gonna be the exact same, which could mean a lot of things.

Same here. When I first came to this video, I wasn't sure if I was looking at a 3D model or a cosplayer. It wasnt til someone identified the cosplayer was when I realized it was an actual person.

This is really wonderful... I must cry every time i play Crisis Core till the end... The whole game is beautiful but also sad, because you know grom the beginning, what will happen in the end. Even after three or four times... I can't help but cry in the end.

When I first played CC, I was NOT prepared for him to die... and then to have him say something of the things he did... especially, "The price of freedom... is steep." I didn't realize until I played through the OG FF7 again that thus song wasn't just talking about Zack, but foreshadowing what would happen in the events of 7 to save the world. That's the moment this became my absolute favorite video game song.

I know it it seems really stupid to say out loud but Zack and I share a dream. I want nothing less in life to be somebodies hero someday. I don't care why/how I just want to have changed somebody's life in a profound enough way that they see me as their hero and for them to either show or tell me as much.

Seeing the VMU struggling to recollect memories of zack and suddenly fades away, and hearing the "activating combat mode" for one last time is definitely one of the most saddest moments in Crisis Core.

He really did become a hero. His sacrifice made Cloud his legacy. Cloud is upholding that dream, but fans of Cloud cant forget the one who made him a legend. Zack Fair made him a legend.
