I always liked Cid's characterization. To me he represented the dreams aspirations of humanity. He was openly flawed, and hid his shame of his failures in his attitude but he never lost hope for his dreams of going to space.

He was, in my opinion, the true MVP in the original FF7. He kept the crew together. He focused on what had to be done, when everyone else was losing faith. Not because he was an optimistic leader, but because someone had to step up. (I'm talking about the chapter where he had to lead Avalanche during Clouds absence.)

So, this has to be the character that changed in perspective the most, right? When I played FF7 in 98, he was a dozen years older than me IRL. I thought of him then as some old goofy out-of-touch asshole dude going through midlife crisis. Now in 2020 that remake is coming out, he stayed the same age because of course he has, being a fictional character, I now see this guy as a frustrated young genius. He was one gifted guy who knew his talent, passion, and call, but was denied to perform. He just wanted to do the work he loved. He didn't care about politics, he didn't even care about women. Cid was, in his mind, doing God's work.

I don't think I've ever seen a story that feels more human then FFVII, and no one embodies that more then Cid. A flawed man trying desperately to just keep going, convinced he can never attain his dream, but still coming to hope and even fight for a brighter future

The tragedy of FF music as a whole is that people almost invariably focus on the outstanding tracks and ignore the one's that aren't QUITE as good but are still fantastic. You don't see "Cid's Theme" getting half the covers as "Those Who Fight Further", "J-E-N-O-V-A", "Aerith's Theme", and the 5 bajillion "One Winged Angel" covers. So I'm glad to see this. :D

Some people think there's too much cussing in Remake... Look. Have you even met Cid? If Square censors Cid or tones him down at all, there will be a riot! He doesn't have to say 'fuck' but let's be honest. If there's anyone in FF7 who would sailor-cuss, it's Cid. Even Aerith-- the one and only person who seemed the most angelic individual-- says 'shit'. Don't hold back for the few sensitive folks, Square. Just do FF7 justice.

Possibly my favourite FF character, even since I played FF7 for the first time I always thought he was an interesting character, sometimes probably not the most pleasant person to be around, a few issues here and there, the occasional ass-holery for sure, the heart's in the right place though, when shit hits the fan he definitely seems like someone you would want on your side.

I think Cid's story in FF7 when I was a kid was the one that legit put tears in my eyes. What happened to Aeris was terrible, but Cid's whole story, about losing his dream because of how much of a real hero he was and how much he cared for his crew. I dunno it just kinda touched me.

The personification of Cid represents so many players that are older or in the latter stages of life, who for some reason never had their lifelong dreams fulfilled; and have given up the ambition and will to go on and/or to continue fighting for some greater purpose after having such a long and eventful life without their hopes and dreams having been realized. Sometimes your fate and destiny will lead you to a path to serve a higher purpose - that you had not envisioned.

I kinda want to see Cid, Barret, and Reeve make some conversations. Well, Barret and Reeves kinda get into a very brief argument towards the end but that was pretty much it for the original. Cloud and Aerith are important but the rest should’ve interacted more with each other.

I cannot wait to hear Nobuo Uematsu's rendition of a new theme for Cid when he is finally revealed for the next FF7 chapter. Well.. chances are he won't be appearing even then, but I think they should speed his first appearance up some. Even if not as a team member. They did show Cait Sith (not his actual body with Reeves) way before he makes an appearance in the original game too, after all. Lets hope the foundation of the remake is set so well that they have everything planned and that we won't have to wait several years for the next. We need the next chapter as soon as possible. We need Cid as soon as possible.

I instantly fell in love with Cid. He's a throwback to FF4 Cid and Kain combined; my favorite final fantasy game. His attitude is so amazing I love it when he cusses all the time. Hands down my favorite FF7 character.

I've listened to many great Final Fantasy covers, and this is the best remake of Cids theme I've heard, even slightly better than Pontus Hultgren and Osirois Music's version, and those are amazing as well. This truly sounds like the original is intended to with enhanced quality. Looking forward to more FFVII covers. I'd love to hear remastered of Other Side of The Mountain, Holding My Thoughts In My Heart, Interrupted By Fireworks, and Anxious Heart, among many others! Keep it up man, great work!!!

This is arguably the best theme of any character in any game. I can't think of another character in any game series with a theme that fits them as well as this one fits Cid. I also wouldn't doubt for a second that something sounding similar to this will end up being in the remake of the game, it's that well done. Oh, and everyone can take One-Winged Angel and J-E-N-O-V-A and shove them--I'll gladly take Cid's Theme and Anxious Heart over those two tracks any day.

Playstation 1 is the best console with best games, with best stories, best fun. PS2 was ok. PS3 was lame games with gta clones and resident evil 4 clones PS4 was boring with gta clones and resident evil 4 clones and lot of shooters Cars today looks so gay while in 90's looks mature.

PS5 was awful, every games are full of microtransactions and tons of DLC. oh also gta clones and resident evil 4 clones and lot of shooters and crappy remasters

No offence but Cid Highwindd's theme was the best one for ff7....wow its been so long.......played this back when it first came out on the ps....was like at that time when I first got him in my team was like shit this theme is crazy good....Cid Highwind was and will ever be my favorite Character

wish i could find those kind of remixes on spotify nothing comes close to your versions - this theme is one of my favorites and brings back good old memories.. someday I will find the time to enjoy my very first JRPG again

This almost feels like it could be played in FF8 before a mission is about to begin. It has that same strength of something epic is in preparation. I really would like to see those chosen by the planet, the price of freedom or the nightmare begins. I think you could make em special, hell id even love to see a mix, fusing alot of different tracks together for a 3minute video made of 3 different songs. Good work ^_^

I think of Cloud and his party when they're ready to parachute into Midgar as the Final Form of Avalanche. They go from reckless fools bombing Shinra's reactors to true heroes going forth to battle Jenova and it's spawn for all the humans on Gaia and even Gaia itself. Aerith in a way showed the entire party who they were supposed to be, rather than the fantasy they've lived all their lives.
