Yes, dive bomb is physical, so having a character with barrier is helpful. The bandage sword is good to survive megaflare- which is a magic attack. You can tell the difference by looking at the symbol next to the name of the ability when an enemy casts it. Physical abilities have a sword next to the name, magic abilities show a magic staff/cane
I did this fight with seph garnet rod to p and m atk down. It worked with mana wards and curas on a few chars. For ftp who dont have too many OB you need as much dmg as possible.
@@BodhiJMSRyder I used cloud, seph and aerith. Tried to just rely on curas and use her IX buffing rod. Buttt yeah we need too much healing to make it worth it. But maybe having cloud use his buffer sword is a better strategy than some manawards.
I’ve followed every strategy, every video, every comp, and still die. Anyone have a recent setup to clear very hard 1? It’s been 7 hours across 2 days. WOTV used to do this to me and since I’m disabled my reaction is limited. When games do this to me it’s so dejecting. I’ve been trying for months :(
I am relegated to iPad too so what people do on PC with a mouse, they can do 4-5 things for my 1. I’ve wasted days on this since release. Idc about anything higher than just binding him before tomorrow. It really is depressing and annoying to work so hard for nothing all the time. I want to have fun with new ice cloud but cannot until this is done. Thanks to anyone anywhere and of course Ryder:)

Thanks for the help ^^ I basically combined three strategies mentioned but made sure I had 10k hp and finally took him down! I only have RU-vid and Twitter atm. Thanks for responding and everything man :) psyched again now
I did it as f2p Here's my way: Aerith (fairy tail - chocobo staff) => Full heal with 7.5k HP (mithril rod is probably better but i don't have it upgrade) - HEAL Cloud (Murasame - Buster sword) => Full thunder dps (i don't have the non elemental weapon from ff9) with 7.5k hp - RAMUH Sephiroth (Edged wings - Kujas blade) => Full ice dps with 7.5k dps - SHIVA Bring for Cloud and Sephiroth manaward Using auto mode until being close to mega flare. Always use your shiva and ramuh once available, and keep your heal from aerith. Then, when he's debuffing mdef, use all your manaward and chocobo staff tu nullify the malus and kuja's ability to lower mattk You should take like 6k hp at this point, use your Heal from aerith, and keep your atb on everyone to be able to prevent him from using divebomb (I didn't have diamond here so important to keep atb to be sure) And then you just have to finish him before the second mega flare. It was really close at the end and i finished him with my third shiva-ramuh, so use it fast to be able to cast them 3 times during the fight. It is probably way easier with tifa and cloud with amarant's claw and zidane sword but here's my way !
I never tested the summons since i figured non-elemental was better, but with further reflection i think that Ramuh/Ifrit/Shiva would all work well too!
Cleared VH1 1st attempt today after few fail attempts last night .. Proceed to EX1 and got handed MegaFlare to the face 😂 Will try again at 65 maybe Edit: odd that you couldn't beat with first setup with sephi, cloud and aerith cause that's the same team I used with a lot less CP.. Like 190k ish only. I saved all summons for mega flare bar and brought bandage sword.
