I've seen a lot of people saying that they're murderers but they are presented as goofy and comic relief. To be honest i always felt like they just followed orders and did their jobs. So that doesn't necessarily take away from their funny personality, esp because they were always like this, both in the anime and japanese version of the game
That's a fair point. One of the things about FF7 is that you can make similar arguments about a lot of the characters. Cloud is a sword for hire at the start and has no problem killing Shinra soldiers. AVALANCHE throughout its history has been prepared to kill innocent people in pursuit of its goals. There are a lot of grey areas in the game - it's not just black and white. One of the reasons why it's such a great story!
they don’t specifically murder people. they work for a company that ORDERS them to do actions that result in the deaths of others (sometimes), or just cause general harm to people. but they don’t WANT to be doing any of that. you can evidently tell that (specifically talking about rude and reno) the turks are resentful to their actions. they show remorse and guilt after doing certain actions. which shows that they still have their humanity in them but are being controlled, in a sense, by shinra. it’s a pretty sad concept if you really think about it. but ofc, they have to keep an act going because, it IS their job after all and they need to get things done. speaking of it being their job, they can’t necessarily quit their jobs either because if they did, things would get out of order because they work such prominent jobs for such a huge company that runs the world. overall, i love the turks, i feel bad for them when most people dislike them. they are heavily misunderstood and are mistreated when they have no other choice.
@@FF-Gamr this is so true, cloud literally kills so many living humans that have lives with no remorse showing JUST so he can get money… imo, he’s more ruthless then the turks are 😟
Let's see the Turks all the way!!!! That was one of my gripes on my extremely small list of gripes of ff7 and that was I always wanted to see more of the Turks than what we were given
Yeah, I hope they prove to be a constant menace that pops up basically wherever you go. It would add to the idea of Shinra being all powerful and with influence all over the world.
I've always thought that they're more comedic banter is one way for them to cope. I like how this was emphasized in the remake with Reno commenting that it's too late now for them to grow a conscience.
Yes, thank you for this video! I am hoping that there is more back story for the Turks and Rufus that ties in the events from Before Crises and Crises Core but because they are on the Presidents 'S**T' list, as it where, is the real reason they are following orders.
At my first time seeing Turks, i didn't know what the heck was going on, but now i understand. It feels really starnge for me because i'm Turkish. Yes i need to play before watching cutscenes.
It made me wonder whether the Turks were based on late-90s' Turkish intelligence community, despite not having Turkish-styled music when they appear in the story...
I'm still here hoping they would make Before Crisis into a full game. The Turk's stories are awesome and have a lot of potential even if taking place in the past. Seeing as how Final Fantasy Type-0 utilizes a large cast well, the Turks having their own game would have been cool. Thanks for the video! #subbed
Yeah that's right, but I just wondered if, now that the Midgar section has been turned into a game of its own, we will be introduced to her earlier on to add more 'depth' to The Turks.

@@renooftheturks984 yes Lazard with an unknown mother and Evan the son of Anette the secretary of President ShinRa I am a huge fan of Rufus ShinRa for me he is the real antagonist on FF7 i hope he will have more credit on remake
I feel like Reno's line in Remake before the Fall of Sector 7 is a summary of the Turks in their entirety. _"I guess it's a bit too late to grow a conscience."_ I never really saw them as "bad guys". They are just people who have been doing a shitty job for so much time that they forgot what scruples are. Probably my favourite FF7 characters.
When people criticised The Turks for murdering people, I would like to remind everyone that Avalanche is also ready to let people die as part of the ‘necessary casualties’. Barrett also sees people siding Shinra as a problem and if they die, it is their fault as well. Might I also remind people that Cloud is also more than willing to kill Shinra soldiers, Johnny, and Reno? It takes Tifa, Aerith and probably the Whispers to stop this man from doing so. So how is that any different than the Turks?
So basically the Turks are shinras CIA/FBI. But what I really want to know is are they SOLDIER? What are there backstories before shinra and how did they come to join shinra. I wish there were answers to these questions
they aren’t soldiers, they don’t have jenova cells in there as far as i know. they are just incredibly skilled and smart. SOLDIERS have been infused with jenova cells and mako which gave them superhuman strengths, even though it wasn’t supposed to be for that purpose, hojo was doing experiments on people and the fails ones were then called SOLDIERS and fought for shinra. as far as the turks backstorys before shinra, we don’t know any of that which i really hate because they are such interesting people :/ hope that helps.
Yes mor turks i love my beautiful sharp dressed men and ladies.but doubt will see much of the other turks that arent the main four especially Elena's elder sister.
