It was a really good story, but damn...the music in this game is unrivaled in my opinion, it was WAY ahead of it's time in both cinematic graphics and the musical score. Still remember playing it on PS1 when it first came out! Ancient times my friend. BTW - If you want to scratch your old school FF itch, been playing Crystal Project on Steam, it is a love letter to FFV fans!

I can't help about constantly reminding myself that this epic song plays while a bunch of teenage-high-school-mercenaries fight a sorceress after messing up to assassinate her. No matter how much this version hypes it up even more, I just can't get over it.

This was my first Final Fantasy game and is still my favorite. The fact that they actually did time travel in a logical way blew my mind. Even now, 22 years later, I still end up having to explain the story to some people. 💓

@@vincecomuna that's the twist. There is no altering the storyline. All of that will happen because it did happen. Rinoa will become Ultimecia and start all this again from the other side of it.

Absolutely gorgeous! And I love that you stay true to the original too, not remixing, but instead enhancing and remastering. This doesn't sound like a fan remake, it sounds like what the song SHOULD have been if it weren't for the limitations of the Playstation!

Cup soup head Avalanche DLC? XD But on a serious note, it is highly likely that if FF8 were to get a remake/remaster (I sure hope it gets the same treatment like FF9.. For now at least), it would be made *potentially* after FFV and FFVI if their planning on remastering most of the series. And if those games were to get an FF7R treatment (But lets be honest, they may get an FFIV treatment ;-;), it would be a lifetime before FF8 gets a remake.

Nah, probably would be 6 -> 8 -> 9 -> 5 in that order if they get the HD treatment. I don't trust Kitase, it seems he likes to put down Terra and Squall in favor of Lightning and Cloud, I get they are the mascots but feels it's going to far with that. (We have to remember that him and Wada were the masterminds behind X-2, and 7 Compilation) Bandai Namco does this better, even the less popular characters gets the same screentime and respect as the most popular ones.

Ironically... Those are my two Favorite characters of all time (Terra and Squall i.e.). Also don't forget about the rumored FFX-3... It's a smart move to milk them since they are in fact among the most popular characters in the franchise but you know, it wouldn't hurt to pay homage to the rest series too (inclusive to Spinoffs). ~On a side note I'm still hoping they get love in Dissidia eventually unlike the 30th anniversary video that showcased FF1-15. I do agree, still kinda bummed about the Tekken 7 roster (slightly) but ultimately satisfied with the remembrance of their titles
