Love how we just casually threatened her when he said “can’t take it with you” and casually lifts up his gun arm. Very casual show don’t tell, excellent.
I was actually a fan of Yuffie in OG VII. I found her antics mostly amusing and her ultimate limit break was one of the best in the game. In Rebirth, I adored her. She's got a lot of energy and enthusiasm that's almost infectious. I chalk it up to little sister syndrome. You either live her or are deeply annoyed by her.
2:26:50 Yuffie and Vincent were supposed to be full party members and were cut for budget, but the character designers fought to get them added back as optional characters with less impact
I'm only about halfway through the video and just wanted to comment that I enjoyed your analysis of the game so far, I love it when players are able to pick up subtle details in the game, it really showed how much love and care the devs put into the game despite having to balance between serious and the goofy side of the OG. This is one of the few games that I genuinely had a lot of fun (putting aside real world logical sense because it's a video game). Looking forward to the future chapters.
@Valborn_ Thank you so much! I just can't help but think about how much thought went into every aspect of the game -- i think it deserves mad respect. - Jolie
All in all, Chapter 4 was interesting for the story expansions and area exploration. It's probably the funniest chapter as well. Nothing will ever surprise me more than the "Bald Bar." I also appreciated wecaee all of the characters get more comfortable together and see Cloud start to open up. Not a lot, but it definitely starts here. I also like the way the game is building more depth to Rufus and the Turks. It was kind of jarring to go from OG VII to Advent Children as far as those characters were concerned. Here, we can start to see why anyone would work with them after the events of the first game. Chapter 4 isn't the strongest in terms of the overall story or exploration but it is the first time you start to grasp what they are going for in Rebirth in terms of world building and lore. I can't wait to see future chapters covered.
Cloud used Infinity’s End on Roches motorcycle. I love that attack it literally does 9999 damage if you land it on a staggered opponent. He also doesn’t learn this attack until Gongaga when you get the Crystal Sword at the reactor. Also I love Roche he’s amazing I hope Dr Sherian in Corel is able to get blood from Cloud at some point to make a cure for the robed people so Roche can be saved and still be Clouds friend. I can see them together in a band or something. You know since Cloud plays the piano and sings Hollow. I bet Roche can sing too. Looks like he can dance he busts a move or two right before the Junon fight. Bet he plays the violin or something.
I'm hoping that, after the trilogy is complete, that someone creates a super cut of all the times Barret threatens to perforate someone. It's almost comical how often he defaults to that.
The story expansions are interesting but I think their primary purpose is to work Wutai into the remake in a meaningful way. In the OG, it was a completely optional area. Without Yuffie, it's not even really worth going to. You just visit the area, maybe buy some equipment or materia and move on. My first playthrough of OG, I didn't even know Yuffie existed, so Wutai just confused me, trying to figure out how to reach things or what I was missing for certain NPC interactions. Like in the temple. I gave up on it after an hour and proceeded to the rest of the game.
I feel like that was a Star Wars reference. Chapter 4 Dawn of a new era Star Wars episode 4 A new Hope. This is no coincidence and you can’t convince me otherwise
Even if he did shoot Sephiroth, doubt it would’ve did anything. Yes I know Jenova cells don’t make you invincible, but I’m pretty sure a conventional weapon aren’t gonna mortally wound you either.
@bradreed4414 - Hahaha! So glad to know I'm not the only one!! Is there even an actual technique to doing it well? I'm sure someone out there has figured it out, but that person definitely isn't me. - Jolie
I've commented on previous clips about the CPR with Yuffie, that the "misunderstanding" is a common trope in anime and Jspanese games. Also, the age of consent invJapan is 16. Cloud is 21, so it's not a huge deal here.
30:13 That’s the weird thing about all these games. Humanizing superhuman characters is awkward. In Remake we basically fought God but we need a Cloud to take the lead fighting orcs and wolves because we were never in SOLDIER. What?
To be fair knowing how to fight on your own is one thing, but knowing how to lead a group of 5-9 very different individuals with varying levels of actual experience fighting monsters of also varying shapes, breeds, and sizes around the entire continent would require someone with a bit of actual training. Realistically speaking anyway
Remake Part 3 is probably going to be scaled back on side content. There's just so much narrative ground to cover, it's hard to imagine them making another game at Rebirth's scale but is even more narratively dense.
@drewtheunspoken3988 - I think you're right on this. Part 3 will likely have less side quests in order to make more room for story. I'm sure they'll still have a few (like the snowboarding minigame, although it looks like that will be part of the Gold Saucer), but not as many. I bet it will be more linear as well -- especially the second half. - Jolie
@@FinalFantasyFiles I'm actually really curious how they're going to pull it off. Especially if they really are introducing an airship into the mix. It sounds overly ambitious.
