@@girlfromgermany, Me too, but hardly likely. They have moved on, at least Sparks have. Probably FF too. Not impossible they team up for a couple of songs on the other band's concert, but I doubt that. Hoping for being proven wrong! 💖

Most times live versions are better than album versions. I suppose that's because of the voice(s). Especially Russell's voice sounds better live. I can't tell you why, perhaps because I love to see him while he's singing.

@@girlfromgermany Interesting... some singers like Alex from Franz don't have necessarily "great"/spot-on vocals... which on the one hand means the vocal on record can sound "better"... but when you're a vocalist in a rock band, it sounding a bit rough around the edges and raw sounds more human and adds to the rock band vibes, so can see why a live performance would be considered better. I think I lean to preferring the sound of Alex (and other "raw" vocalists) on record than live. Haven't delved into enough Sparks to comment with my opinion on Russell's voice. And a separate example which immediately counters my only just stated view of record sounding better than live: Seeing Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads and how much energy there is in the performance helps with me liking those live versions more than the many of the studio versions of the songs... so I'm flip-flopping, or saying that there isn't a strict rule for me; and I agree with you that the visual aspect of the performance can add something special too!

Ron really doesn't give a fuck, does he? It's really noticeable when he swaps sounds, the piano just cuts off mid note and the organ and piano sounds are completely different volumes. Could buy another keyboard or just look at the manual and program it. But nah, "I'm playing a Ronald keyboard so I just spend a couple seconds fiddling about with the dials". It's brilliant btw.
