FFVII Rebirth | Take Down The Mindflayer First... 

Or you know you can use magnify + sleep w/ inc status effect duration accessory and then just easily kill the mindflayer by themselves

This feels directly in alignment with the types of later challenges in every square game I've ever played since around 2000 in terms of level and nature of difficulty.

I used the enfeeblement ring on both allies to make them into toads, then just attacked the mindflayer only as Cloud 😂

I blocked SO MANY screeches while using sleep. One did latch onto my party member as i was using a synergy skill, i just went ham on the mindflayer with seconds to spare using a limit break, the SECOND i killed the mindflayer, the ad died, but i already won >B)

For anyone struggling, i found having Yuffie with a sleep materia + magnify was extremely helpful. If any of the experiments grab you, they will explode and die. but if you cast sleep right as they do so, it will go off in time to cancel the grab.

solo it with cloud. Gave him sleep and put the 2 little ones out then focused on mindflayer. It took about 2 tries

This one made me kinda insane but after going through every status effect i realized sleep is broken on them. Also works for mindflayer. And use can use stop to prevent them from exploiding when they graped someone. Slow also works to get more time until they screech.

Good job. I couldnt do this without using sleep on the adds. But then I didnt really wait until I was stronger after I unlocked the fight. So unless I suck, I couldnt dps the mindflayer before the 2 other guys would do their kamikaze attack making me fail the objective.

I managed to do it with Cloud and my old fellow Nanakin Skywalker. One cool thing to do with Red is using "Volleyed Smash" (Also works with Barret) as it automatically teleports your ally next to you, which is a good way in this fight to avoid your ally getting staggered by the ennemies due to dumb IA.

I put an enfeebling ring on my support (not sure why, I could've just left them out, I think), used Tifa, dodged the dual brain guys so they didn't hug bomb me, and I just took my time. I got em eventually.

Solo’d this with Barret… I never want to do this again

Did this two ways. Went similar to this. Cloud, Tifa, Red, dragged him away from the two adds, slept them, and went to town on him. Finished in like 2 and half minutes. Also was successful going solo with Yuffie and just spamming throw/ninjitsu, though this requires a lot of patience and was a lot longer, about 9minutes. She's quick enough to dodge everything (Tried this with Barret first but he's so damn slow that he can't dodge enough).

I just took Cloud and Aerith. Had Aerith keep the little ones busy (sleeping occasionally) and Cloud could take down the Mindflayer without worrying about AI killing the shrimps. Still a terrible challenge, if for no other reason that it's not fun or interesting, just kind of annoying.

Every other combat simulations was okay until this one came. This one is just...🤦

I went in with solo barret to get this objective done since he was the easiest character for me to focus fire on the mindflayer without hitting the little guys.

Just use Yuffie, make her range, and just hammer the mindflayer while you fly around the map. The others can't explode if they can't catch you.

Head case? More like a case of fucking headache for how ridiculous this challenge was lol

I only used Tifa and Cloud (for synergy) and let Tifa use spam sleep whenever she has ATB

How are you able to block mid attack animation?? It forces me to wait til the very end of the anim to block....

Sleep materia is your friend....

This one was hell. Pure luck that i was able to do it after like 50 attempts

This one was a damn nuisance. I just did solo Cloud because my tifa/barret had a very high chance where they would accidently kill one of the little guys first. I did Cloud solo and I used elemental thunder on my armor (half thunder damage) since they spammed thunder alot and the mind flayer has a crazy thunder attack too and it really saved my ass. Also Chakra helped. I just played really slow and made sure to avoid getting paralyzed by the little guys.

For all the good things in FF7 Rebirth, there are WAY too many bs sidequests, simulator battles, and minigames that really piss me off by being way more troublesome than they are worth.

This was the easy content😭

I was playing on easy and didn't have any trouble with this challenge. Got it the first time.

i really hate this fight, it's one of the reasons I just stopped caring about these useless quests. I just recently told a friend, this game would be better with less content.

This combat trial made me just give up on all side content, set the difficulty to easy and just mainline the rest of the main story because I just got so fed up with it. This trial legit made me hate the combat in this game so much I wanted to do as little of it as possible from then on.
