It pains me that I never saw this channel before. Most channels I've seen tell you "the best rotation" but they don't teach you *why* are you using those skills, and let's face it, if you're looking for a guide you problably aren't sure what you're doing with the class. Awesome guide, I confess I hate BLM but that doesn't mean I don't want to do my rotation properly, and if the quality for other jobs is as good as this I'll be enjoying this channel for a while.
THIS GUIDE IS AMAZING AND I'M GOING TO CRY WHEN I NEED A NEW ROTATION. Btw, Enochian is pronounced E-KNOCK-E-ON. Haven't heard it correctly once in any video. It is Final Fantasies version of "High Speech", or occultic linguistics that enhance magical ability. Enoch is a Biblical character, and who they are depends a lot on what text you're reading. I believe the strongest theory to their identity is they were a mortal that becomes Angelic (not an Angel). and Enochian is a language said to be created/received via Angelic contact by John Dee in the 16th century. I was surprised they went that hard on name for a passive. Dripping with immersion.

Thank you so much for this guide! I stayed away from BLM for almost two years because I absolutely despised its confusing rotation, but with your insight and level of clarity, it has easily made its way into my heart as one of my favorite DPS classes. Keep on doing the damn thing man!! 👏👏
Seriously Teegres, this is a high class guide. Why people dare to make so called "Beginner's guide" and then make no effort to explain why you use x or y spell is beyond me. Seriously fantastic. Went from not at all understanding BLM to at least having a grasp of how it works. I do wonder though. Why two thunder in the beginning?
It is a bit much at first I understand. You'll be fine with practice, just remember that mechanics are a thing while the BLM tunnelvision tries to kill you. 🤣

Good lord. This is so much to learn. Does it really make that much of a difference in terms of DPS? Just seems like a lot of work to make a minimal difference. NOTE: I'm just a casual player and this feels like an end-game guide.
Heyoo :) I can confirm that The difference in DPS is actually massive for Black Mage - also making it the most powerful class in the game. 👍 (Also, you are looking at the "endgame" of the Free Trial. (Up to lv60). It gets crazier later on at Lv80 / lv90 ^^)
This guy is my favorite when it comes to explaining all of this. Now I have a question...I'm level 76, but I'm on level 66 MSQ, do I run with lv66 rotation or lv70 rotation. I got conflicting answers when I asked my FC. Thank you for this rotation...makes my head spin, but still thank you!
Honestly, you're already 76, I would recommend focusing on reaching 80 due to skill changes and potential further change in dawntrail. But if you want clarity, try out my 80 guide, should be included within playlist. I think the guide is tailored towards both single and aoe at the same time so it may be a bit confusing at first, just me trying new things all the time. kek

Thanks, just started the game; I was playing in 2014 when the realm reborn was going on.. but now on pc using the free trial.. bought the game and now own all the DLC's :D I love the black mage but im a better healer lol. The black mage is awesome but im confused with combos. checking that out after I've watched about leylines and general tips :)

blm is confusing, but man after just trying to proc fire 3s at level 50 to this - It’s like you become destruction incarnate at level 60. I’m not good at this rotation but I’m gonna work on it.
Yes, this guide series was a bit difficult to explain properly and also try to manage new ways to edit. I am able to make this series MUCH simpler and efficient but will wait till 6.0 for gradual changes. Thanks for comment.
@@Teegres are you gonna make similar vids now that endwalker is out and you no longer need to cast Enochian? Also I’m new to the game, so for aoe is it now recommended we use blizzard ii to reset ui timer? I’m not sure how it was before, but I feel like freeze once allowed you to reset ui but now it doesn’t.
@@Nead_Dill_Dickersons_jr I will go over all new mechanics from 01-81 on all reworked jobs, most likely not monk due to sqex crushing my main and turning it into a mess but yes, leylines is still great / blizzard2 is used to gain UI in aoe opener / freeze now gives 3 UH's and fire2 now gives AF in aoe
i dont get how Enochian works doesnt it fall of after you switch to umbral fire? in your rota you activate it to use blizzard 4 than you go into ubral fire and cast fire 4 shouldnt enochian fall of by switching into umbral fire after casting it in ubral ice? PS.: i figured it out by playing around in seems that the enochian buff doesnt fall of if you switch by casting transpose or a ice spell to switch into ubral ice you can keep the buff for ever aslong as you dont let ubral ice or fire run out by not resetting the timer you can also use fire 1/2 to reset the umbral fire timer but you have to keep in mind that you need around 4.5 secs to cast fire 1 cause of gcd and cast time in dungeons you can keep enochian up by useing transpose before your umbral ice/fire runs out to carry the buff over to the next pack
I was confused that the end of the single target rotation in the vid does not have a blizzard 4 after the blizzard 3, just thunder 3 into fire 3. but now I see it in the description, assume you just forgot it in the video

I was really enjoying FF14 before your vids - now I just feel stressed that I'm doing something wrong. I'm sure the content is crucial for certain people but it reduces what should be fluid game play into maths where there is a 'right' and 'wrong' answer. Please make your videos more positive with a lighter touch, fun etc.... it is a game after all.

There should be an updated rotation showing that in description Reapply is done every other rotation, one with simple 3-fire4s and Fire1 reset followed with the sharp cast version

@@StarrySmol follow rotation key points: 1. Sharpcast is used on Fire1 to get a Free-Instant Fire3 proc during single rotation 2. Once you get to lv70, delay Ley Lines after your 4 instant Fire4's during Swift/TripleCast or fill in first ogcd double weaved to let your gcd catch up If you have any questions join discord, don't be shy

I just hit 60 in patch 6.3, and there's been a few changes since the patch you made this video on, Question about the AOE rotation Since Enochian was moved to a passive trait, and Freeze requires Umbral Ice; Would it be more like AOE: Sharpcast>B2>Freeze>B4>T2>F3>Ley>F2>F2...etc? I know I'll get further along very quickly after lvl 60, but thoughts?
So with EW out I noticed something with BLM rotation at lvl 50-60 in regards to changes with Enochian going passive and Frost not being able to be cast on pull or until you have 3 umbral ice...are you going to do a short rework of the rotations up to 90?
Hard to say right now given 60-80 contain a few too many mistakes. I'm just one guy so I recommend not putting too much thought into my work till it's fully released unless I personally mention it through yt. My videos are becoming shorter and shorter due to time constrictions and my own personal schedule. Comments like these do let me speed up this process seeing as I only focused Mnk/Rpr/Sge till your comment came through so I appreciate the discovery!

I'm almost to 60 but noticed something's changed so I thought I would ask; I know you are only one person thus why I asked. On a side note, Monk is another job I was thinking about doing but was told to wait till EW launch to see if it is going to be good so I'll be looking forward to watching those guides as well. Single target is easier, I just can't work out the AOE one, I couldn't even cast freeze unless I throw a Blizzard first. Maybe they changed things up in 6.0? My BM is still 65 atm.
No, try the UPDATED single opener in video description. After that just do the Constant rotation which should just be 3 F4's after F3, reset timer with a F1 and 3 more F4's.
Hello, I've been following your content for who knows how long and wanted to ask questions concerning the Enochian. I've been having a pretty easy time ever since I followed up your Level 30 and 50 guides but I have to say this one adds the trick. I'm having a difficult time completing my rotations or restarting them because of the Enochian timer in dungeons. How do you alternate or how do I get around that so I don't have to stand still or run around without casting anything?
Hello, Kel. I'm not too sure on your concern/question here it seems the rotation in video might be the culprit. There is a updated single rotation in video description that solves astral timer problems and is quite frankly better in all regards.
