I just got recommended this. I remember this entire thing oh god. Being a Red Mage that day was the most hilarious thing, i'd resurrect someone and immediately get swamped by a few dozen angry ass red birds throwing meteors my way. Spiritual Children of Nael van Darnus y'all.

I was there day one of Red Chocobo Savage. It really is one of those "It's as hillarious as it seems" things. Though I was lucky and managed to kill my chocobos easily. I think someone else aggroed them.
I want the tradition of Red Chocobos being a menance to continue into DT and beyond(Because why not?). You might tell me I'll regret it but I'm a sucker for a challenge and punishment against these assholes. It's one of those moments that make it fun to experience while seething at the same time.

Yep, I was there for this on day 1. I died multiple times. The only way I was able to complete it was to play as Bard, spawn my two targets, wait for them to get agro on some other players, and then stand back as far as I possibly could and take them down with max distance ranged attacks.
The amount only your own chocbos spam those fucking meteors, I can't imagine anyone playing blm to be able to kill them. I first went as a healer today, I had a minute period where I couldn't cast anything but aero cause first one spams me with 5 in row, then the other one started, and then the 1st one starts again. So fucking ridiculous. If I wanted to signup for a fucking solo challenge, I'd go run palace of the dead and try for a 200 clear.. started playing again a month ago, so my whm is barely 350 ilvl. I had 1000000000x better time as playing on my PLD which has the stock i290 from the quest. Utterly amazingly fucking brilliant.
1)Walk into circle to spawn chocobos. 2) Run away, since they are aggroed on you by default. 3) When you get to a somewhat clear patch, kill them 4) Profit!
To unlock the second (?) Ivalice Raid part, you have to do a small uncomplicated battle against two chocobos. Nothing bad. Until everyone wants to do it at the same time.
@@Sketchblopp really? Guess my memory is really bad or something because I've had all those raids unlocked for a while now and unfortunately don't remember this at all.
@@raventhorX It was really not a super big step, just a moogle that wanted to prove himself and tried to fight two chocobos. Which just angered the chocobos so you had to save him. It was not relevant to the story, nor were these super special chocobos (under normal circumstances), just a small fight. It became absolute madness when too many people wanted to do it at once. :D But if you haven't unlocked it at day one it was a very uneventful step.
@@Sketchblopp it was so long ago now that I just don't remember lol. Pretty sure I was close to day 1 if not on day one however. Guess it was that uneventful that I didn't remember it.
