FFXIV Endwalker Dungeon Mid-Boss Theme (On Blade's Edge) 

i doubt yoshida really gives direction on dungeon boss themes, moreso trial,raid and the actual dungeon music

I know that Soken is credited for every music in the OST, being the sound director and all, but this one has been composed by Takafumi Imamura. Also the author of the Garlemald Express track.

Same! the song makes you feel the intensity of the situation.

Especially when you see one of the boss's move- "NO FUTURE"

Especially up on Okto and Karellia. Nice to know the names of these worlds now. The Grebuloff are so cute and didn't deserve their fate

I hated that instance. Too many enemies, too little health. I know the point was to get across you were in a weaker body, but I think they made you too weak

@@JaxonElzinga Well yeah as you just said the whole point of the instance was to let you experience the life of a random dude trying to survive in this mess. Everything is always exploding with magic in this world so it was cool to see how a random soldier has to do to walk few meters XD I loved it. Some instances were much harder than this one. Here you just have to use your 3 spells and don't pull every ennemy. In case of troubles you can use the Easy and Very Easy Mode :) It was fine imo

I hope they gave that soldier a proper burial.

100% agreed, that's the one Solo Duty I'll never forget ! Took me a while to find that blasted ceruleum tank for the magitek Reaper .. If you play along and allow yourself to immerse into the situation, it's pretty thrilling. Really liked how there's absolutely no hand holding during the whole thing, and it's really nice to see a comment from people who apparently enjoyed it as much as I did.

In From The Cold, Best Instanced Duty to date imo! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who learned to associate this with that instance, even though I already heard it first in Tower of Zot!

Same here. Slamming her scythe down like that as you drew your own? I really want to replay that fight since I messed up my recording of it.

Both Sage and Reaper's respective quests REALLY set me up for what Endwalker was going to be like, and this music was the herald. And then Endwalker's main story went beyond even that.

please when the mini boss theme transitions into the main boss theme and she joins you, I got so many chills! That’s why the mini boss theme will forever be the one on one battle theme for me, and the main boss theme will always be a “stand together” theme

It's so metal! It made the fight so much more exhilarating. I died so many times during that fight before I figured out what I was supposed to be doing lol, but it was a really fun boss fight.

I first actually paid attention to this song during that body swap part, because usually in dungeons especially if I’m doing it the first time I’m way too focused on staying alive and not messing up my rotations

I heard this in the LV 80 Reaper Job Quest it got me all hyped up for the fight.

According to an interview with Soken, the number of song requests for Endwalker early part was massive, according to him the number of songs he made for Endwalker 6.0 alone is as many as the songs he made combined from 5.0 to 5.3. The pressure is indeed on for him to deliver, and he still delivered, in fact OUT-DID his efforts in Shadowbringers. Really have the highest respect for Soken.

They definitely put the bar pretty high with Shadow.

Damn can’t believe how different my taste is compared to you guys. For me Stormblood and Endwalker have the top music followed by Heavensward! Shadowbringers beats ARR for me, but all are amazing

@@DarthStalkers it’s hard for me to pick a favorite as all parts had good music - Stormblood probably had the best boss themes (triumph, suzaku, byakko, tsukuyomi, shinryu, omega), shadowbringers and endwalker with the cutscene themes, Heavensward had a bit of everything(my favorites being Revenge Twofold and Another Brick) and ARR had lots of good map themes along with the Garlean themes and FATE themes. Cool profile name by the way- Darkstalkers reference?

@@TheKingOfN0thing I guess you can day Shadowbringers was the Scions tike skip/training arc. The Warrior of Light went from having difficulty with Zenos to taking on an Unsunered Acsian to fighting Zodiark. The Scions could barely handle the Garlean Empire now they take on a tempered religious fanatic boosted Garlean Empire. An entire island of terminus beasts. And they took on Hydaelyn herself.

Literally the most stressful part of the whole expansion I loved it

I feel like it was 100% the proper choice for the scene; it encaptured and _amplified_ the feeling of the situation- your arch-nemesis is currently inhabiting your body, en route to your friends who are expecting you and 100% will *not* survive an ambush of both you and an Ascian, and you've got to go through a wartorn city with soldiers and Magitek everywhere that will kill you with great ease, as you're just in the body of some soldier. The only way you'll make it out of this is to be very, *very* careful and resourceful.

No problem! I actually wanted to download a clean version without it being too soft or starting out of nowhere so I just did it myself lol.

Can't agree, it just doesnt scream "end boss" kind of like how the shb midboss theme doesn't either. With the latter in particular it always seemed to me that people wanted it as the end boss theme only because they like it more

It's not because I like it more. Imho the end boss theme doesn't "scream" end boss like this theme does.

@@XerdaanWarin I disagree very heavily, the end boss theme really sounds like you've gotten to the end of something and there's one final, powerful opponent waiting for you. this is just heavy rock music tbh, granted it's very good, but it just doesn't have that epic feeling that a final boss theme should

@@elyakel5682 heard only good things about P5R and i recall it's turn-based as well. unfortunately, i do not have a ps4/5 right now. would get one in the future though as i want to try some of the ps exclusives like bloodborne

@@skygIade persona 5 can be done with emulator ( ps3) but you miss the bonus chapter ( like 20 hour of gameplay yeah .. xD ) Already done them on PS4 but wait for pc , Bloodborne have a lot of clipping and aliasing so... I'm waiting the true version of Bloodborne :D

@@Arnaud10 in that case, it's easy to change it if you want to know how. go to hud layout menu and find your job gauges. under settings (gear icon), you can toggle simplified gauges. i personally use these because i don't like visual clutter on my screen anymore. i used to not mind the job gauge design and raided with it but now it's pretty insufferable

If you compare it to the mid theme of ShB, then yes. Final boss theme? Nope. Finality can't stand up to Insatiable
