FFXIV Endwalker - Part 24 (Lv 87) - Thou Must Live, Die and Know! I never cried so much in any other video game before. Everyone must play this masterpiece. Watch it live at / itsjanacosplay Check my Instagram / itsjanacosplay
Everything going totally quiet for the last of the lyrics, "In the same fleeting moment thou must live, die, and know." Peak fiction. Ship it. Based af.
Yeah i saw a Live letter where yoshiP says that they took quite some time to sync musics and cinematics in endwalker to bring even more feelings out of them.
One of the real hits is when Emet says goodbye to Hythlodaeus, you see the first start of the slump in his posture. EDIT: it's also rough to realize her "injuries" through the ages are most likely the results of the Rejoinings, or other times she stepped in front of death for us, like protecting us from Ultima.
And according to some, apparently, those black ooze/tar that covered her was supposedly her blood. It was made black to prevent the ratings from being M or Adult Only, iirc.
13:33 "So please, open your eyes... ...if we cannot accept this truth and learn from our pain then our plight shall be repeated." It all ties back in with Answers. o_o
Notice - Amidst deepest despair, light everlasting - She turned black from white, but the hope / light in her blue eyes kept shining. Everlasting. That last shot.....
Between Venat's speeches and those of the twins, so much truth was dropped that Endwalker should be compulsory gaming in most high schools or universities.
Those flashes to you vs Emet... I think she's remembering the stories you told her. Knowing that in the end you will be there to help make this all worth it, all the pain she has caused by sundering the world.
I take it as symbolism of both Hydaelyn walking with us, but also as symbolism of us following in Hydaelyn's footsteps, emphasized further in the final trial where [SPOILERS] I believe that, in Ultima Thule where emotion determines reality, the prayers of the Scions and everyone back on Etheirys didn't just shield us; but ushered a rush of Dynamis on us not unlike the aether that cause Ysayle to become Shiva, or Thordan and the Heavensward to become the Knights of the Round, and causing Hydaelyn's champion to ascend from the Warrior of Light to take Hydaelyn's place as the new God of Light (even if it may be temporary), and the living hope of all life. You can also see in this fight that, after we become *empowered by prayer* the light in the background begins to overpower the darkness and becomes the majority backdrop. A light brilliant beyond measure. So to me, it also seems to symbolize us following in Venat's footsteps.
Hardest part of this cutscene for me is after all the things that we started doubting her through ALL of Shadowbringers, there she was taking hit after hit FOR US and still entrusted in us to make the right decision in the end... Ive never had a game make me cry like FF14, i literally had to walk away from my PC for a while after this cutscene. Just hit way too hard for me.
i might just be an asshole but it really makes me sad when i see people in chat for people going through these moments saying "This next part is the bit that made me cry" Like please, no one was there telling you something was about to happen and that is part of why it was the way it was, they just can't help themselves... Just so common in so many playthroughs there's always at least one... Just always have to hope it gets ignored. If anyone reads this that does that, just wait literally FIVE MINUTES and say THAT PART instead of THIS COMING PART. So ridic. Otherwise, loved your reactions thanks for the vid
