If I remember correctly, Yoko Taro had intended any of the red orbs being touched BY A SINGLE PLAYER to be an instant raid wipe. Apparently Yoshi-P had to tell him 'bro you can't do that'
This actually adds a lot if you’re really deep into it. Apparently the orb thing is one of the seeds of the flower that are used as gates for the Watchers to go through and basically it finding its way to XIV meant effectively that we just saved the XIV metaverse from getting invaded and brought to ruin just like what happened to Drakengard’s world, as well as NieR’s earth. Pretty much think of Her Inflorescence as one of the weapons of the Watchers much like Mother Beast was for DoD and apparently the link between the Red Girl, Kaine (Replicant), and 2B/A2, is that all four of them are copies of the original hosts of the Flower being Zero->One (brother)->Manah->Kaine (infected human Legion before the Replicants and Gestalts were made). So yeah it doesn’t add much to NieR or Automata specifically, but to summarize it effectively, the Flower is able to infect suitable hosts should they come into contact or discover and recreate one of its previous possessors, kinda like a Lovecraftian Entity. As for how the Red Girl relates to that, she’s apparently a recreation of Manah that the collective unconscience of the machines created from somehow gaining access to and learning of her existence somehow, which honestly still doesn’t make a lot of sense but then again originally their appearance in Automata barely made any sense itself anyways and it was just today that I learned that they were intended to basically reference Manah from DoD1 and upon hearing that it made sense. So the long and short of it is, there’s a lot to take in with this raid series that relies heavily on a lot of underlying lore in the DoD-NieR timeline and this raid basically confirms that the link between the Watchers and the games are still ever present, versus my initial thought being they just happened to completely disappear after Caim slays the Mother Beast and the war with the Legion that came about from her screams, with the Seeds of Destruction and Flower being the two main ways for them to attempt to take root in a universe in their never ending campaign to wipe out all sentient life.
It does make sense for them to continue the story line of the flower from DoD3, it just feels a little loose compared to other titles/other entries in the drakenier stories.
@@EclairAryes To be fair why wouldn't it be loose considering this is a collaboration to begin with and technically could/couldn't be considered canon depending on what perspective you choose to view it from. At the very least it wasn't something that was shoehorned in for a collab. Ultimately we'll have to wait up for a new DoD game or possibly if Yoko decides to surprise us and put more stuff into Replicant outside of the extra content that was put into the novels and stage play during the pre-automata years. But yeah, definitely overall Dark Apocalypse has left me wanting, but it's in a good way rather than negatively. Like there could've been more (and possible there is once the weekly story updates are completed but I doubt that's the case), yet I'm still perfectly satisfied with what we got outside of not having more crazy encounters but considering the type of game this is and what this content was intended for I can overlook the team reigning Yoko in on that end. Overall still had a lot of fun with it especially during patch days for these past two raids seeing all the fellow fans get excited for all the references and seeing all the DoD/NieR noobs not getting it and dying to its mechanics.
The aliens created the robots using stuff they found on earth, so isn't it possible that they somehow found remnants of the legion/white chlorination syndrome, and somehow the red girls were created as a result of the aliens using that on all of their robots?
@@saintgeekSG The simple fact that the robots get red eyes when they go hostile says a lot to me about the whole connection to the watchers thing. Not to mention Eve's conspicuous Watcher tattoo toward the end of his arc.
As someone who hasnt played the DrakeNier stuff, the flower/seeds are how the Watchers, who are in another dimension, try and invade our dimension and destroy things?
Oh hey, it's me. Green Gunbreaker that got ran over by the train at 16:35. The PTSD from those bells were still hitting me hard. Thank you for capturing the magic of my first time in here!
I didn’t know anything about Drakengard or Nier when playing the raid so I thought it was just a bunch of cool fan service. Having played all of the games since then, it’s actually astonishing that it’s not just fan service but it confirms or at least eludes at the possibility of a lot of fan theories being correct. Who would have guessed the watchers, the flower, and dragons were all machine in origin all along.
Fun fact those numbers say: Aberration meaning to deviate from the norm or a failure/defect of a mirror or displacements of a celestial object from its true position
Fun fact from someone who's learned latin for two years, the achievement you get for finishing the raid "deus et machina" translates "God and the machine" (in contrast to "deus ex machina" which translates to "God from the machine"). I'm not smart enough to read all the significance into this but I thought it was really interesting ^^
This was told to me on stream as well in chat, but I knew that they couldn't use "Deus Ex Machina" due to it being used for the weeping city of mhach with a pun however; "Deus Ex Mhachina". But its really interesting from a lore perspective into the Drakenier universe.
This is not even go back to just Nier Replicant. But goes deep into drakengard. The matching black and white ring is drakengard 1 ending E boss fight. (Which is the world of both Nier game) That also has the same mechanic in drakengard 3 branch D which is more likely to be a ref of drakengard 1.
in my theory the last boss is actually Zero. - Name being her Inflorescence directly references Zero who has big ties to flowers. - Queen-beast from Drakengard 1 is the merged form of Intoners theory has a solid basis and Yoko Taro is the kind of Dev who'd include players' theories in crossover content. - The raid wide attack of this boss is more similar to the rhythm game of the Intoners boss fight in Drakengard 3 with the Intoner doing dance movements with her hands as well as singing.
I'm channeling Muttley with the wheezy snickering on your reaction to getting hit by the meteor. I haven't played either Nier, and only played Drakengard waayyyy back in 2004, but I have adored these raids (fun fights, rad music) and doing this on the first hour the patch launched (my first blind day one raid since Dun Scaith) was a delight if only for all the DrakeNier fans in alliance chat losing their minds with excitement CONSTANTLY. Also the final boss music may or may not have made me do a big cry.
I too spam hotkeys like crazy. I'm not sure if you care, but you can disable "Cannot use while casting" in: Character Configuration >> Log Window Settings >> uncheck "Display error when actions fail" and "display recast timer error messages."
I do have a idea that the watchers the intoners and the network are in some way related beyond the girls in red thing they both have but there no real meat to it i think
As someone who played BLM through this dungeon, i will half agree. There are certain parts where you must move, which messes up the dmg uptime. Like Hansen and Gretel fight, Red Girl after hacking where she drags us across the field; the last boss is pretty tame, but you gotta do mechanics. But I found some good sweet spots to put down leylines since release. So now looking back since release, this raid isn’t tooooo bad for BLM.
@@KAvanAlten yeesh, just accept that you didn't get the reference and move on. You do both yourself and what you believe in a disservice if you can't take an actual L
