I dunno, a lot of people are saying that this music is spooky, but really it's only the first bit that would qualify to give any sort of feeling of creeping dread. The rest of it sounds like a fitting tragedy that could befall a place of vast quantities of historical knowledge- kind of like the destruction of the Library of Alexandria...
the library of alexandria was never destroyed. there was a minor fire when the city was sacked but the librarians put it out without losing too much of the collection. it just fell out of importance when it was absorbed into the roman empire because alexandria became less important as a city in comparison to rome.
FFXIV has one of the best soundtracks ever in the series, fact. Though not everyone is into MMO, people should try this game just for the sake of OST and epicness.
Orochimaru sama Well the great thing about the MMO scene is that it keeps getting bigger! More amazing tunes, fun engaging story that unfolds like a TV series.
oh man, this so much. it's been a long time since i've been impressed by a games soundtrack. i can listen to any song in FFXIV and instantly picture its place and memories i've had there. Soken is damn good.
THIS!!! this is one of he many reasons I play FFXIV and still do-- the scenery, the music and just everything is so damn beautiful and so well thought--
Just did this is as my first hard dungeon. Was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just the same dungeon with more numbers, but an actual different dungeon! Map, enemies, bosses, mechanics, soundtrack and all! And this soundtrack is amazing.
This is...so much better than the original. Like. SO much easier on the ears. I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but I have not, in fact, acquired a taste for freeform jazz.
I still keep coming back to this version for the beautiful and melancholic section about half a minute into the song. The violins and piano go too well together and I loop it just for that.
I'm in love with this song. I always loved the Library's theme, and this added an awesome spin. The day someone comes out with sheet music for this, I will dedicate all my free time to learning it.
I was sad about the bitchin' bass and drums being gone before, but this really does fit the whole "haunted library" theme of the dungeon a lot more, so I like it a lot. Kinda sounds like something you'd hear out of a Piano Collections album too.
I thought the last boss was fairly easy to figure out, the second one though took forever to figure out. We beat it the first time mostly just out of brute strength.
I love this theme! Though to be fair, I also liked Ink Long Dry, so this is basically fantastic for me. I liked the final boss theme for the place as well, though I'm sure it's going to give some folks nightmares involving hooting.
1:03-1:18: It gives a sad feeling. It's like the Great Gubal Library normal's theme is a more upbeat happier time. Hard mode around this time is gives the feel of sadness as you reflect memories of a specific time at a specific place.
The name of the song is "Bibliophobia" and i can't agree with you Mekkah, this has to be one of my favourite, both depressing and giving you the energy to cry with the swiftness of the piano haha
But then you'll need to transcribe it (both the piano and violin part), arrange it into a full piece (with beginning and end) and find a violinist to perform it... Its gonna be a long way This comes from a real pianist who studied piano since 4
yo mekkah big fan of what your doing here i come here often to jam out to ffxiv music im gonna be making my first dungeon guide and wanted to let you know your helping me by making this background music easily available ty bro!
Both libraries have been 2 of my favorite dungeons in the game. The setting and music have been great, and the bosses aren't annoying as crap like the frog or Ziggy in antitower.
i've only just come to this post of yours, but it really made me smile to see your post script. i very much adore the music for this dungeon, it really, really makes for such an enjoyable instance, to me.
The music is too similar to the old one, not too impressing. But the dungeon itself is quite amazing. We finally have 2 new dungeons that are not boring for new patch, it's been a while
I LOVE Ink Long Dry, I can listen to that on repeat (and have!). This one? Not so much. It's good, but it's definitely not my favorite. So you're not alone there. Oh, and the last boss here is possibly my favorite in 3.4 (I haven't done Sophia yet and I can't do the next set of Alex until I get my A8 clear).
