That fits so well that I wouldn't be surprised if the 90++ for this event has BB in it. Calling it now in fact Just seems like an obvious way to display all her mods
I think Johanna would be a great 2nd support for Melusine in hard content. Johanna's 3 turn arts crit + absorb skills (and star gain) really pair well with Melu's crit playstyle, also both are rulers and both of them have a damage cut skill. Even if it might not be the best party comp, it's probably a fun team to mess around with
Her and Lady Avalon would give her crit damage on par with the best crit units in the game. The fact that’s despite her being class neutral a lot of the time is pretty ridiculous. Also of course works well with older but still great support options like Hans and Waver. Arts units just continue to be super powerful even in areas where they are perceived to be weaker
Johanna provides a lot of short-term value, but after that her long cooldowns can drag her down. In most situations, Lady Avalon is a superior choice as an arts support and crit support for hard content. She has far better long-term value.
@@FieryMeltman I agree, but I was thinking for a team that finishes the fight in more or less in 3 turns, going for a full crit beatdown. Lady Avalon is nice, but her skills colldown are also pretty long and her crit up is just for 1 turn (and her np gives only 5 stars at base OC, half of Johanna's). Don't get me wrong, for the usual comp, lady Avalon is generally better. I was just stating that Melusine's gameplay is so flexible that you can use her with more unusual supports (wich is more fun, IMO)
Great breakdown. And really appreciate the straight forward honesty on things. No question that Ibuki is still nuts and has that top spot for good reason. But Summer Melusine is fantastic and I definitely appreciate the concept of her just always being able to loop. The 80% charge is huge and she can just go into a large amount of fights without a problem. Which I personally like. It's nice to just be able to throw a favourite servant into a fight and know they can get the farming done. Plus honestly I like the Arts supports as characters more than the Buster side. So looping with Castoria will be really nice. So I'll be ready to go all in for Summer Melusine. Her ascensions are gorgeous and her personality shines bright. This NP is hilarious and awesome. Can I get her to NP5, who knows. But I sure hope so. Will hope that whatever I have in a couple years will be enough.

I will agree 300% on a single point you made in this video. Gameplay wise there is no value on spending your SQ to summon any other Arts Looper if it is not Summer Ibuki or Summer Melusine and that's what is the most disappointing thing... To get it a step even further there is not point summoning an Arts Looper that belongs to the Extra classes besides those 2. At least for the basic classes there is the argument that they will do 2x times dmg versus their effective class. Space Ishtar, Summer Kama, Ruler Moriarty, Summer Kiara, Hokusai and Jinako are in need of a buff. I am excluding Johanna because she is new and mostly an niche Arts "Support" servant that can also do damage, has a Power mode vs Evil and Super effective dmg vs Man in her NP. I also exclude Nito Alter because she is also new but her "saving" factor moving forward is her Super Effective dmg vs Man in her NP (which hilariously enough is also a saving grace for her since she is Sky attribute), her 100% NP charge and the fact that she is in the general pool and can spook you at any point. Unless you really like one of those limited GSSR servants mentioned above and you do not care about gameplay I do not believe its a good idea to even try to get one copy of them or even multiple copies for gameplay reasons. You are 1000 times better getting Summer Ibuki or Summer Melusine or hell even Tezcatlipoca for gameplay reasons.
There’s always going to be a new meta arts damage dealer so just get one where you can get value till you can replace her getting space ishtar before summer kama or ibuki i have been able to farm so much
That iphone upgrade comparison is the most true thing I've ever heard in regards to this game. These new servants are always so neck and neck with each other. The devs are always trying to make new servants just a little bit better than the others so they can entice people to summon, but they can't go bonkers and make someone so busted that people will never be able to summon again. It's a funny fine line, always trying to have to one up what they release. Even knowing that Summer Ibuki is pretty much the best of the best, and having NP3 Summer Musashi on NA, I'm still going for Summer Kama, and I will still go for Summer Melusine in two years as well. The dick wants what the dick wants.
I'm gonna take her to np3 at minimum out of love, so how good she is doesn't matter TOO much to me, but the fact that she is still one of the best units gameplaywise is always a big up for my fave Servants.
just farm with who you like and don't worry about min maxing farming. only people who should really care about trying to farm everything with one servant are people who wanna level EVERYTHING and want to mini max their apples and AP and what not. the gap is not that big imo. not to the point where the top farming is worth sweating over.
As another spishtar enjoyer, as much as it pains me to say, i'll take her out of the farming team when her bond is at 15 (Lasagna pls gub max bond cap update to 20) But i'll still bring Spishtar to main story quest tho, for fun :3
For me, there was no need to use any analysis article/video to consider pulling her banner, since I was aiming for BBS, and Melusine came out 250-ish rolls before I even got my first BBS copy 😭
Pulled a Summer Melu on a ticket and then pulled two more on a 10 pull going for summer baobhan sith. I have a high investment NP2 Summer Kama, but I guess I'm getting that iphone upgrade whether I like it or not.
I think in term of looping flexibility, Nito Alter is the one who started it, but with lower dmg (than spisthar & s.kama) and more niche skill set instead. Meluler (get it, japanese can't make different of "L" and "R"... okay forget it) is the next step with more general useful skill set and more competitive dmg, not just NP but also crit.
I rushed Grailing her and Summer Chloe to 120, within 3 days of her release! But even at level 100 Skills 1/1/1 she looped like a monster even outside of event, and cleaned the 90++ node easily almost entirely of her own volition!
Yes, they each do different things better but if you are looking strictly for more damage against most enemy nodes, Summer Ibuki is still number 1. I mean come on, it would be pretty dumb if they already made an arts looper that would leave her in the dust only a year later. So instead they overtuned other aspects of summer Melusine's kit while making sure she doesn't quite outdamage Summer Ibuki. If you look closely at her kit and how it compares to lancer Melusine, you can clearly see where they were careful with the numbers, like "only" giving her 30% arts up instead of say... 40%, and also only 30% extra damage against chaotic enemies instead of 50%. It really would not have taken much to make her hit harder, but it's better this way, keeps the power creep in check at least for a bit more.
Ibuki is better in terms of farming. Melu is a better crit unit with better versatility for CQs and solos. In some ways Melu and Ibuki are meant to compliment each other as they can both be good multi core farmers due to their batteries. In the end it comes down to preference or waifs bias of which unit you decide to invest in.
@@Ebosan87 Sibuki have something that smelu don't (and for which i still consider her the better pick overall). Defensive buffs purge before her np hits.
yeah NA players should start saving from now on like for real if they really wanted all of those servants unless they got the power of RNG at their side
Her looping ability isn't quite perfect-if she doesn't get a single overkill hit against the wave 2 enemy of a 1/1/x berserker node, she will fail. She can loop if she can kill it by putting facecards in before her NP, but not if she needs facecards after her NP. Wait 4 years for them to release summer Draco who will be the completely perfect AOE looper and have 2.25x class advantage vs most servants, and still somehow get powercrept too, but you won't want to use arts loopers anyway because your Castoria is bond 15.
I like Summer Melusine because of her high end crit potential. Her face cards are just going to hit like a truck and with the plethora of great art supports she can work in a variety of powerful team comps. I think she’s great for veteran players and great carry unit for newer players if you want a strong DPS unit. In my view she’s pretty much on par with her Lancer counterpart or slightly below that.
I think for new players Summer Ibuki provides more value. Even at NP1 with Xu Fu and a support Castoria + Golden Sumo + plug Waver for charge or 2004 mystic code for damage, she can farm most nodes easily. Plus, you don't need to spend any quartz if you want to be to carried in story content. Just follow some people with strong support servants. Heracles alone can easily carry all of Part 1 and most of Part 2.
@@FieryMeltman I personally disagree because as a Berserker with no survivalbity she’s much more susceptible to just randomly getting one shotted by an enemy than Melu. Also Melu basically being a mini K-scope is extremely valuable to a newer player where farming options will be limited. This strictly comes down to what you value more. I value units who have greater CQ main story versatility rather than farming so a Ruler like Melu who has the inherent defensive benefits of that class plus generally strong DPS appeals to me much more than Ibuki.
@@ihate.promax1140 if you’re planning to use them to farm your gonna likely use them the same amount anyway. Obviously if you have a summer Ibuki this point doesn’t matter. As an NA player however it’s useful to know which units might interest me and which ones don’t so I can allocate SQ more efficiently.
The last year's summer are much crazier since it bring 3 limited SSRs and each of them are broken asf, but yeah....this summer also really crazy. And the fact that the limited SRs are also pretty damn good make it much crazier. I mean, suzuka with her CD reduce skill, chloe with her easy meta swap system, sith with her immortality, and barghest with her changing NP that can change back unlike the OG melusine. The only (kinda) downside is knocknarea, but personally i think she is pretty good too.
@@farizahmad3036 this summer is more crazy, if you read their NP and skill even their passive, all summer servant SSR and SR have "Mod damage" anti earth, lawfull, divine, chaotic, etc 😅 wth is nasu thingking Knockarea is the strongest free support we ever got, she can give 90% total damage to Ally for any type of card, thats is crazy
@@farizahmad3036 Hell even the newest summer has like the best in some category. Zerktoria is insane with triple niche and some say the best boss killer/ arts single target. Melu can loop 1/1/1 as an arts unit.
@@hikun2837 i still think that santa martha and habenyan are the best free SR support but yeah, she is pretty good too. Her only downside is her skill seal and art seal but i can still work around with it, probably use all of her skills first then cleanse it with martha or asclepius
Kind of wish she had been Quick instead. She would match with Zerker Lancelot and she would actually make waves in Quick while Arts is already well off. Not to mention I would finally find a use for my Summer Skadi...
I wish she had been ST arts instead. We still have no SSR ST ruler. Maybe change Summer Castoria to AOE quick or smth so we don't get 2 ST arts SSR in a row.
Tbh my only gripe with Melusine is that her kit is a bit.....boring (specially compared to Barghest and Baohan Sith) But oh well, at least she works very well as an Arts Looper
I rolled for her purely because of waifu reasons. Definitely nowhere as interesting of a skillset as the original though. NP2 Summer Ibuki remains my best arts looper. The real winners were the 4* though, having skills that range from unique to downright overloaded.
You realize og Melu's np battery only works before she switches NP right? I'm okay with she having only one no type if it means the battery stays 🤷🏻♂️
Its the same for all the other AOE Arts farmer tbh, her damage difference from Space Ishtar at NP1 is only about 4% difference (calculated with MLB Black grail). Her damage does fall off pretty hard without black grail, about an 18% difference from Space Ishtar but only about 5% difference from Summer Ibuki. Overall I will say her damage is actually very competitive with the other AOE arts servants.
I mean most of the extra classes except AE, pretender, and beast would mostly deal neutral in most cases so its not something weird to begin with. Heck, even some of the best farming loopers are came from them, including her.
5 Damage Buff Type and a relatively easy to spam/Loop NP with an 80% Charge alongside an 80% Charge. Funny how she's the most straightforward out of the 3 but still ending up a slaying
So, I finally got her from my New Years GSSR (and a Johanna dupe, funnily enough), and I was wondering, I really like her, and I would 100% 120 her if I could, however chances of me getting a dupe are pretty low. So would you/whoever reads this recommend rather going for her Appends? FYI, I don't have Castoria (really bad luck with every single one of her banners) , I do however have plenty of other supports allowing flawless 3T looping already. Would her Appends be worth it, especially for difficult content, since I don't really need them for farming?
Depends on your roster, they each fulfill very different roles, they each require different supports and they each have their own competition that either outperforms or are just as good as them. Summer Melusine is an AOE arts farmer. She can clear most 3 turn quests with multiple enemies in 3 turns. She will require a Castoria to function OPTIMALLY, she can also make use of Xu Fu to farm 3/3/x nodes. Her main competitors are Space Ishtar, Summer Kama, Summer Ibuki (who is slightly better and is ALSO on rate up right now) and Iyo (welfare, so she is free). If you have any of her competitors, you should probably skip her. Summer Castoria is an Arts ST boss killer. With her berserker class, you can bring her to any boss fights that are not foreigners. Even against foreigners, as long as she is hitting her Chaotic, Divine and Threat against Humanity niches, she should be fine. She will also require a Castoria to function OPTIMALLY. Her main competitors are Vlad III, Galatea, Draco (if against 7 class servants) and Kriemhild (who is a story locked 4 star). If you have any of her competitors, you can skip her. Vlad III and Galatea are also permanent, so you can always skip Summer Castoria and pray for them to spook you. Tonelico is primarily an AOE Caster farmer. I havent really used her much so I am not going to comment much about her. But from what I've seen, she will require an Oberon and Koyan light. She functions about the same as Cu Caster in Single Core farming and she is pretty decent in Multi Core farming with a lot of caveats. Overall I'd say she is too restrictive to justify rolling for her purely for gameplay only. All in all, while these servants are strong, they are not MUST ROLLs. Always roll for Servants you love i.e. for their lore, their design, their VA or their kit rather than for purely gameplay. Personally I am going for Summer Melusine even though I already have an NP4 Space Ishtar because I love Meluko.
Didnt seem that strong for me, l guess l was comparing her to OG Melu or current servant powerlevels. Then there was the elephant in the room Ibuki. My assessment was summer Melu was nito alter with less np battery but better np gain/damage
not anymore it was at her first release but sometimes later it is not anymore im quite surprised her NP makes my somewhat high end phone lag at the begining nowadays it is smooth like all other NPs
You will need an NP2 Summer Ibuki to outdamage an NP3 Summer Melusine. Do you have Summer Skadi or Lady Avalon? I suggest you roll for either of those 2 before Summer Ibuki in your case.

@@jeevanravi253 If you really just HAVE to have summer chloe, sure. Otherwise I'd suggest you save your quartz. Summer Banners always rerun the year after, you can roll for summer chloe next year if there are no servants you want. While Summer Chloe looks like she is incredibly broken, she is actually very niche and unviable due to cost constraints. If you plan to roll for her only for gameplay, I'd suggest you save your quartz. Remember that in JP we do not have clairvoyance and we do not know what servant will come out next unlike NA. So saving is ALWAYS a good option.
He's saying that Melusine is overkill in terms of NP charge, not damage. You'll often have a huge surplus of charge when using her in farming. Ibuki does more damage, and his point is that nowadays you're likely to need more damage rather than more refund.

I don't like Ibuki's art🐧& have Melu at NP3(going for NP5 next year)... Also have NP5 S.Kama so uhhh🗿no Ibuki, I don't like Raita's art for her🐧I gotta say it again lol
