This is show that we need in this day and age. Glad Ramsey expanded into this area of life. He’s wise enough to know that people need emotional help even more than they need financial help.

Yes, like was stated, I would say %70 of his callers have more issues than bad finances.

Emotions, mental health and finances have a link. People spend or save based on emotions as well. This is why it’s so important to understand what we’re dealing with from within to figure out why we spend when we should save and why we fall into debt.

Lori, we 7 children met at our Mother and Dads home most Sundays. Daddy would be on the bed drunk! One day, my sister, mother, and I were at my parents' home. Daddy walked into the kitchen, sat down, and out of nowhere, Daddy said, "I want to get saved." In shock, my sister and I prayed the sinners prayer with daddy! A changed man passed away with what appeared to be no reason at 76. We were all together as Daddy passed away peacefully and awakened in Heaven. Oh, the joy we felt! Pass forgotten and forgiven ❤

Awe man i feel that first call. My brother was tragically hit and killed by a sheriff deputy while he was crossing a street 9 years ago. I have always been paranoid about something happening to my husband or kids but its been 10 fold since his death. I have sudden panics with little things that have the potential to go wrong. It sucks bad. We miss him so much.

I'm 36 years old & still just needed someone to say that a parent borrowing something (money) & not returning it is stealing. My mother just felt entitled to take my money because "she pays for everything else." As I hot older, it became completely normalized for her to demand money from me, including in front of relatives - who would also enforce her demands. Her father would say something similar, "You only have that money because your mother pays for everything else. If she needs money don't make her beg for it." Lots of personality disorders. =(

Great advice John. Food is my “drug of choice.” I know what it’s like to be out of control with food and weight issues. This is the same as someone who is an alcoholic, gambler, drug addict, etc. Food can be abused to self-medicate, stuff feelings, not deal with life. Shaming and pushing someone into weight reduction is probably not going to work. I would advise the father to get a complete medical check up to be sure there are no underlying physical reasons for the weight gain. If that is all clear, then the emotional reasons for overeating need to be addressed by a professional. There are also anonymous support groups for compulsive overeaters in food addiction. Best wishes.

Weight watchers works. Its the number 1 program for weight loss (plus whatever exercise). Nothing gets eaten that you dont scan with your phone first to know how many "points".
@susanmarie2231
@susanmarie2231 3 года назад
@@GUITARTIME2024 I am sure Weight Watchers is a great supplement for someone with food and weight issues. Emotional overeaters need to process their feelings as well and there are other groups for that. (Unless Weight Watchers has changed their program in recent years.)

I needed to hear this (at 7:08). When I was 15 I watched my dad die of a sudden heart attack. I called 911 and got him in the floor to attempt cpr (ambulance came and took over as I started). I saw his face change and all of the things the human body does as this happens. I always said I was okay outside.of normal sadness, but now that I'm 30, I am starting to see the deep trauma it left on me. I replayed the moment in my head so many times, and still think of it daily. I go to the doctor and er all the time with any pains because "better safe than sorry" and because I have a year old who is a huge mamas boy. I thought I was crazy, but now I know it's that moment that imprinted it's self on my brain.

Has John done a segment on people dealing with anxiety about going out or having to be around people at work in the covid era? I have several people at church that are really struggling with going out of there home for any reason due to the fear of getting covid.

I’m going to be honest I don’t love the “things that annoy me” segment at the beginning. I know y’all’s intention is fun, but it reminds me of all the churches Im too hurt to go back to, with the pastors trying to be be comedians and get praise instead of offer help. It’s jarring to go straight from silly jokes to really serious intimate topics like death lol. Just my two cents, maybe others disagree, I love this show so much and I love what y’all do here ❤️ I think fun stories or happy things at the beginning are still a really good idea though, maybe just something that feels more “real” ❤️❤️❤️
