For realtime monitoring, carscanner seems better than ABRP in its current form. Carscanner already has a profile for 600e.

Fiat 600e, jeep Avenger, Citroen e-C4, Peugeot e-2008. All of these cars are on the same platform and with 51 kWh battery and 156PS engine are very efficient. I saw on 1001cars channel comparision between many of these cars and the best was e-2008 with smaller rims. Bjorn mentioned Skoda Enyaq with the new engine. Taking into consideration its size and power this car is even more efficient than Stellantis platform

I don't think you'll see rapidgating. I've been driving my 2020 Corsa-e, basically the same layout with a little smaller battery, across Germany on the Autobahn in 38°C weather last year, CCS-charging all the way of course. During charging, the battery would peak at 42°C and after 20km on the road after that the AC would have it cooled down to 32°C again. The charging curve was near optimum all the time, 90kW until 30% or so, then 75kW until 60% etc, you know, Corsa, smaller battery. The platform has a seriously powerful AC unit for such a small car, 8kW if I remember correctly, for this exact reason.

Now you can see battery power limit (max output/regen 10 sec, 30 sec) with Car Scanner in real time.

Morning from the UK and thank you for the video. Mentioning Enyaq in this video made me think and realise how efficient Enyaq is really. I have been doing motorway trips on UK motorways recently, close to 200 miles, with my Enyaq 60, and been averaging 3,9 to 4,0 miles per KWH which translates to 160wh per kilometer. I think Enyaq is the closest car efficiency wise that gets close to Tesla based on all Bjorn's range tests I have watched.
@yegorrussalev6614
@yegorrussalev6614 26 дней назад
Closest so far was the BMW i4 edrive40, but given the fact the Enyaq is an SUV, it is definitely a very efficient car.

ECO mode reduces the AC big time. Or even turns it off. At least with my 2020 Corsa-e.
@Iceeeen
@Iceeeen 26 дней назад
on the van's it turns heating/cooling completely off. But driving modes over all is just pointless. Can never be bothered to change them, just remaps the throttle, can do that with my foot. Other the hvac is horrible. crap cars..... happily not mine, just work

Thanks Björn for all the entertaining content! I have a question for you for which I have not found any answer on google for: I wonder how normal battery degradation affects the useable battery capacity and that maybe cars with bigger buffers (I have an E-Tron GT) take some of it. If f.ex. degradation after two years is 3%, maybe the useable capacity goes down less. I think this might be different between car types and sizes of each of their battery buffers..?

Coasting downhil,.. less mass carries less momentum, also cw affects
@martijnkosters9024
@martijnkosters9024 25 дней назад
Exactly. Has nothing to do with efficiency, maybe a little bit of rolling resistance but a bigger rock will just roll down the hill faster.

Very nice Bjoern. I have the new Corsa with same drive train and have a stunning consumption of 140Wh/km (25°C, 120km/h, Sport Mode, 17" tires). Against Stellantis communication my Corsa (one of the early builds from Feb. 2024) also has the big battery with 51kWh netto, what I can clearly see in car scanner. I have the same voltage / SoC values as you show in ABRP. It looks like on the upper end it only charges to 97% and takes the rest as a buffer for recuperation. It shows 400km range, which makes no sense regarding the big battery, theoretical it should be more possible (the bigger Astra has 414km range WLTP). So on the lower battery end I need more courage to check the behavior of the BMS. 😅

Problem with small batteries is that the cars are smaller but not much more efficient, if at all. Did a longer stretch on motorway yesterday in around 20 degrees with my Polestar 2 LRSM on 20" wheels, avg speed was 108km/h and consumption was 19.8kWh/100km.

Thanks for this video Bjorn… I have a question: why this car is efficient? It needs 25% more energy of a Tesla M3 even it’s 60kg lighter and so much smaller in space 😅😅😅

At 90kmh it is ok but man, they all blow up consumption beyond 100kmh. And 120kmh is really necessary for long term travel.
