I have a Fiat Padmini 1985 model in running condition. I drive it myself. People of all walks of life admire it. I consider it to be an ideal car for Indian roads even today. It should be revived.

I grew up in this beauty. My dad would buy a new one every five years from 1975 to 1995.

Nostalgia hit me so hard right now. I live in Mumbai. When i was 8 years old, I used to travel in Padmini taxis with my mom and literally my eyes used to be only on the driver; i loved the way he used to change the gear and the way these Padmini taxis were decorated in that era; like it is so close to their heart.😘. My father bought our first fiat, in 1991, then in 1997 we met an accident and the car got badly damaged, though we all survived, the car was soo tough that the truck by which we got hit fell down but we all were safe. Post accident we sold the car again our father purchased a new padmini premier. I learnt to drive from this car. Proud to be the owner of this legend 😊

Nostalgic video. It was my first car in 1989 and have many sweet memories of this car. I can vouch for its exceptional performance even as compared to many modern cars. I remember one hilly inclined terrain on a kuttcha road post rains. While other cars were struggling to climb our padmini climbed it without any hicups.

We had a fiat 1100 black colour it was with us since 1964 till 1992. I was born in 1978. During my entire childhood i saw fiat. It had the night vision mode on its rear viewing glass which you can find in today’s cars... it was one aristocratic car... we too use graded to Maruti800 n sold off the fiat... i wish we had kept it with us... its a legendary car...

Yes its a totally Majestic Car ! My Grandpa bought a preowned padmini petrol in 88.. then my dad used it for his whole driving life and now i am 28 years old i am using it ! I love this car.. we have new age cars as well but our padmini is most loved and pampered car in our family

Thanks for sweet memories. I owned its two models- 1967 and 1976, very sweet car. I travelled to a number of places in UP and Delhi.. Alas! I wouldn't have disown it due to craze of latest cars.

My father had a Premier Padmini Deluxe BE in the late 80s and I used to do most of the driving. I could touch 120 KMPH on the highway with 5 people in the car! At that time it had the smoothest and silky gear shifts and controls and being rear wheel drive, you could do stunts like pulling the handbrake at 60 KMPH on a mud road, slightly turning the steering wheel and the car would skid and be travelling in the opposite direction! However, the handbrake was on the left side beside the passenger so you had to have a passenger who was willing to risk his life to do this for you! Took it to Thirupathi from Madras and she climbed the hills with ease. 100% reliable and fun car!! Thanks for the video!

I have drived almost all leading car available in India & also have owned many of them but from my core of heart I have to say no one give me that nice driving feel which my premier padmini BE 1994 gave. I just loved the car passionately, It was so silky smooth, sophiticated & smart looks that till now I miss it badly. The baritone manly sound of the car suits my personality as I am singer having deep baritone voice. Till date there is no car charmed me as my fiat. But for the lack of space in my garage forced me to sell my loved ones. At the time when the buyer took the key my heart was bleed heavily. It was my first car which I bought by my own earning. You have ignited my feel for my fiat,,,,, can I name it as my jaan? Thanks for the nice video.

सर् जी यह कार मैं १९९० में सेकेंड हैंड खरीदा था और करीब ८,९ साल तक रखा था और अपने परिवार के साथ बहुत दुर दुर तक बेफिक्र होकर रात और दिन चला हुं जो कभी भी मुझे रास्ते में परेशानी नहीं हुई। यह सब गाड़ियों में जो आराम और मजबूत था आज के कोई भी गाड़ियों में नहीं है। आज भी मैं तरस रहा हूं।

I had petrol varient in 1996 then I have replaced by diesel varient in 1999. Very good experience with fiat padmini .I never forget those days.Thanks sir for refreshing old references and memories.

Thanks for making and sharing this video.. Being the first car in our family, simply loved our Padmini 1989 model. As I bought a Diesel Swift in 2008 it's usage decreased till 2012 when we gave it away. Paid approx 1.30 Lakhs in 1989 and had great fun with it, even learnt driving on it. I didn't want to dispose but we had to due to limited parking space. It fetched us 25K in 2012 as we said bye to it.. How I miss our first car.. :( Would love to drive one if I get to, today. Thanks again my friend!

I still remember it was the year 2008… I was travelling to downtown Mumbai and I got into a Fiat cab… Out of curiosity I asked the driver, how many lakh kilometres your taxi must’ve run… He told me, that he purchased this cab as Second hand in the year 1998, when he bought it, it had run up to 2 lakh kilometres… After that he said it must’ve run up to 9 lakh kilometres under his driving as a cab… He told me this car still has the potential to another seven lakh kilometres…. But he would be forced to opt in for a new taxi due to the government regulations… The point is Fiat engines are rugged and can run up to 15 lakh kms too 👍
