Just got one of these to learn in, The great thing is it has the same chassis as the fiat 500 so when i'm learning (all the driving schools where I live use the 500) I can also be using the panda and things like the gears are in the same place. Its an brilliant little car, especially when you consider 90% of people first starting go straight into a old banger thats just rubbish.
Sharp looking car!!!! The ONLY downside was that the back seat back rests were not split. Fiat has been absent from the states for a few decades, but I hear they are coming back with a new Fiat 500. I drove a Fiat 128 sedan for about a week.... LOVED IT. If you like British sports cars, I have a number of shows on my channel. I try to put some humor in them and most often the humor is the music. Let me know what you think. Be Well. I would have liked to have seen the car next to the Fiat ;)
My family had one of these. It was awesome; simple, quite exciting when going fast and had loads of character. Only problem I found with it was that because of the tall roof, going high speed on the motorway meant it tended to rock about.
hey man, nice car. I'm thinking of getting myself the 1.1 active ECO under the scrappage scheme. I have to say, I like the look of the panda a lot more than I thought I would.
That looks like quite a nice ride you got there, much better looking than the goofy lookin' strada they use to sell here in the 80's . I especially like the "switchblade" key for the igntion. what are you doing with the key when you open the rear door?
Greetings from Austria, Nice VDO, I have 04 panda 169 with glass roof and automatic and a killer oem stock sound system with subwoofer :-D but the bad is the stock Blaupunkt head unit and the gremlins that pop on and off, soon to be changed. Thanks for the Vid, Great lil car!
For a small car it's very comfy and so easy to drive. You may struggle with leg room if you're tall or have long legs. Can still be bought for a little over £5000 these days too!
Interior will be blue like mine i think but it could be "sand" or Orange but doubt it. Did you get a good deal? They are very cheap to buy now so leasing is not always a good choice but it's up to you of course. Fiat Super Saver offer 58 plate diesel Panda for £6295 now.
remove key, turn off lights (if they were on) and then switch them back to side lights. The sidelight logo will appear on the dash, if you push the indicator stalk left, the left one will be on and right one right of course, but leave it in the middle and they both stay on. Not sure how long they stay on though, will have to test it.
the one I've ordered is black. forgotten what interior colour. wife & kids (3 drivers) chose colour they will be usung it really...it is a lease car for 3 years but will have option to buy afterwards. it is the multijet 'base' model. never had a fiat before, looking forward to it.
Hi i tried it and the lights stayed on all night, left/right front and rear and there was still enough power to start it (although a little slower on turnover). They were on for about 12 hours, not bad.
Excellent! It should prove to be a fun car! I'm a similar height 6ft and find it very roomy although long legs are a bit of a problem sometimes! Let me know what MPG figures you get, to reset the trip meter, hold the trip button for around 3 seconds. Cheers, drive safe.
good informative video. I'm thinking of buying one of these. do you find it a bit cramped at your feet? and averaging 65 is excellent, is that mainly urban driving?
i'm sure they stay on until the battery is flat you know! the lights were very warm and slow start etc would indicate no cut off switch unfortunately. I could be wrong...
i just found out it has parking lights too as well as "follow me home" headlights. You can put both on or just left or just right, not sure how long they stay on though?
I was thinking of shipping one over and travelling, maybe do a survey, see how many people in USA would buy one if they could, then present it to Fiat. If they knew there was a market for these cars now they would be interested. Only costs about $1500 to $2000 to ship from UK to NY, you can also get LHD versions of course. Have you seen the 4x4 version of mine? same engine/body etc but with 4x4, it's called the Cross and it can go anywhere and still do 60 MPG, search for Panda Cross.
aaah!!! it all makes sense now lol thanks alot mate, and they should stay on until the battery goes flat tbh cos i remember when i was on holiday and this guy left his on for a grand total of 3 days non stop haha.
@ld309 I would, it's a good city car, and motorway car really. I did 370 miles non stop motorway one day and i was fine, no aches or pains and i'm 6ft/size 14 feet! If you go for the diesel, there should be a new 95 HP version soon as seen in the 500. Or maybe the new 900cc turbo (2 cylinder) will be available in the Panda next year (also in the 500) Do some homework if i were you, find out which engine is best. I've got an Abarth 500 now with 170 BHP, superb little car based on the Panda!
@HsAttack No mine was only a 1.3 Multijet, no fogs, no aircon, no alloys etc. I think the spec has changed since i bought this 3 years ago. I hope you got yours cheap as the new Panda is coming soon :)
hmm...i'm not sure, it would be a bit stupid to let the battery go flat, i might try it tonight when i go to bed as it's the weekend and see if they're still on in the morning. I'll let you know what happens :)
The diesel is around £6000 brand new which works out at just $8940, a lot of car for the money if you ask me. Your total cost would be around $11000 if you buy new but a second hand one with say 25000 miles will set you back around $6500. What about the new fiat 500? this also has the diesel engine but does even more MPG due to the shape. If i got 82 MPG in the Panda, the 500 should get close to 90 MPG which is still 74 miles per US gallon.
they must have a switch that kills the lights so it can start in the morning. however, my gran has a yaris and she turned the switch on the lights but not fully, so it stoped the pinging but she got out and left them on and it wouldnt start in the morning :s so it is possible
Well I've two daughters (20 & 17) and would pay a lot for insurance etc...leasing mine includes everything (ins.,servicing etc) for £200 pm, no deposit, 10k miles pa, so very easy.
Don't be fooled, i know two UK companies that have been selling the Panda at £4995 for over a year now. I'm not sure they do the scrapage scheme with such a big discount already, but if they did, it would mean a brand new car for £2995! mental.
Very wrong, i think the interior design deseves an award, you can control all of the heater controls etc without even removing your hand from the gear stick, and it doesn't get in the way. Gear stick is slick and makes shifting easy as it's so close to the wheel, most new cars have dash mounted gear sticks now.
Hi, your English is good. I disagree with you, i think the diesel engine in the Panda is very good, powerful, quite fast, quiet and very good on fuel and is very smooth too. As my first diesel, i like it a lot.
@themanitasdeplomo The Panda is one of Fiat's most reliable cars, just get one that's been looked after and serviced regularly and it should be fine :)
@FSTOPDR You can get 50/50 spilt seats if you want. Yes the Fiat 500 is on sale in the US now, i have had the Abarth (fast!) version for 2 years now, possibly the best car in the World! ;) Check my channel, i have loads of videos of her :)
