Have you opened the ignition amplifier on the distributor module before? Just did that and discovered the D1071 Transistor to be in general, a ignition module transistor on many different vehicles and motorcycles. I tried to post good photos on the Fiat Forum but is didn't post. My guess is the little 8 pin IC in there is the part that works with the fuel injection modules. Should I manage to pin the D1071, surely the Uno non fuel injection will run? I figured from the module the center pin of the transistor not used. Meaning only B and C. Hence of the 5 pins... as in your drawing, far right, ground, second from right is C, center is B... leaving my question about the two left pins. Any advice here? Thanks.
did early fiat puntos use this type of ignition system? my mate kept having problems with coils on his punto 1.1 55 a punto's engine bay is incredibly spacious easy to work on if its got a small engine
+michael jagger hmm he needed to change or add another engine earthing strap. also he needs to to check his HT leads (i'd replace them for £10) and his spark plugs.
Hello. I can't start my fiat panda 4x4 1989 started. Has new spark plus, good engine timing. If case engine starts by chance, when i accelerate, engine goes off! Any ideas?
@@PC_GAMERS_HUB the accelerator jet can block up its easy to clean after taking the carb apart. also on the back of the carb theres a small pipe going to the choke butterfly actuator. this pipe can sometimes split. you never notice it without looking for it though! it has also been known that the brake servo can also cause a vacuum leak. not many mechanics know much about old cars now. if they cant plug a computer into it, they have not got a clue. feel free to join us on fiatforum.com/panda-classic/ ! :D

Hi man, great video! I have a panda 4x4 1988 I.E that have been working fine, but now it doesn't start. The engine ignites when I use the starter engine but dies as soon as the starter cuts off. The engine gets sparks and fuel, can it be the vacumcell "UFO" that's to blame? I checkt and the membrane in the UFO is crackt, or is it one of the electric modules? What do you think? Greetings from Sweden.
as soon as you let the key go from [start] it cuts out? it sounds like an issue with the ignition switch.. try feeding the ECU (orange wire) directly.. remember green is - and orange is ignition live. the UFO can be to fault but if you can suck/blow through it with resistance it should still work. the electric module on the side of the distributor can fail.. it is common.. have a look on FiatForum for more info!
@@johndragonman okey, yeah the membrane of the UFO is definitely broken. I've checked forum but haven't find an good answer for what the problem could be yet.
