Cheers for your help it's about time somone explained these types of jobs in easy to understand terms you have just saved me a few quid and I've learnt in the process
Seriously mate, thank you for taking the time to make this video, and so quickly too. I’m relatively new to car maintenance but feel more confident now doing mine because of you. You are a top, top man.
Your Welcome! Comments like that make this channel worth every minute of filming and editing! If you need to know anything else you know where i am mate.
Thats not a genuine Fiat part. Its an all in one piece from the the CAT back. Youve got to cut the backbox (rear muffler to our US friends) to get it out. Also the the mounts the go through the rubbers have like a mushroom head and near impossible to get off in one piece.
Did mine today. I was replacing the original, 10 year old one, which was in one piece so getting the old one out was really hard work until I decided just to break it where it joined the silencer. Luckily the rust made that relatively easy as sawing the pipe was going to take a lot of work! Once the old one was out, it was just a case of cleaning up the front connection with a wire brush, fitting a new gasket and connecting the front/central pipe, then sliding in the silencer, hanging it and joining it to the other section. I used Holts Firegum and a bracket for that. I left all the bolts loose until I had both sections in their final positions to avoid putting stress on the downpipe/cat/manifold while I moved it all around. Once again, thanks for your video. It gave me the confidence I needed to attempt a job I've always had done at a garage before now.
@@dvdoyley I used my Evolution reciprocating saw. It wass those rivets that secure the exhaust to the cat I had trouble with.spent 10 minutes trying to get all manner of sized sockets on them before I realised they weren't bolts.
Hi thanks for the comment! Yes i can do, So the front pipe to middle section? i have 2 requests to finish first so will gt it done over the next week. cheers.
Hi, Thats a good one dash cams are getting really common, i have a new dash cam kit with a broken screen, i can do a video showing the installation but cant show it working because of the screen. It will show you how to install it though. Video coming asap!
My fiat grande punto 1.4 active 2009 rear heat guard has come loose one bolt of the at the back is rusted how are you able to replace it seems like its attached to petrol tank any clues what that bolt is connected to?
1NE LIFE nice one, Could I get your advice one this one? I’ve noticed the heaters only blowing warm on all speeds and I’ve noticed the temp gauge will drop slightly and fluctuate, if I turn the heaters off the temp gauge will stay bang on centre, The top rad hose is also warm but the lower one is cold, Should the top rad hose be cold until the thermostat opens? I think it’s a dodgy thermostat that’s stuck open, what you think
Hi Chris, The brake shoes video should be up in the next couple of days. Yes sounds like a dodgy thermostat. I can do a video on thermostat if you need . Cheers.
1NE LIFE that would be brilliant if you could, would you be able to show how to take the 2 coolant hoses off that go into the heater matrix from the engine bay, Mainly because I don’t know how these clips/clamps come off and I’m going to flush the matrix’s as well, I’ve brought a thermostat and some gasket seal (just for an extra seal) and some hose spring clamps to replace the ones already on because it looks like once you remove the old ones there unusable, I may be wrong but that’s how it looks , I read online there’s a way you have to bleed the system after as well, Suppose to be 2 bleed nipples somewhere but I haven’t had a good look yet, Look forward to the thermostat video, Thanks again,
Hi 1NE LIFE, I managed to change the thermostat today, jobs a good en, heaters are now red hot, Trouble I’ve got now is I’ve found that the key doesn’t unlock/lock the car when you manually use the key in the drivers barrel,
Sorry I know this video was a long time ago. My exhaust doesn’t have the bit to remove the back box like this any ideas why? No clamp or anything on it. Looked in the same place you have yours.
