Fiat X1/9 Restoration with first fire up on 1985 Fiat X1/9 

Hey everybody... The Old Man here.... I just want to point out that I was honestly surprised at how quickly this thing fired up and ran. Disclaimer.... I DID make sure that there was clean oil on the dipstick and cranked this thing over a few times before hitting it with the starting fluid. Needed to make sure that the oil was circulating a bit. Also... I likely won't be running this engine again until the timing belt has been changed, along with a fresh oil/filter change and a new fuel filter. The gas in the gas tank actually still smells fresh and doesn't appear to have turned to varnish yet, but it's going to get pumped out and get some fuel injector cleaner and a fresh tank of supreme gas. Love the X1/9, I bought one while I was in the Navy, a 1975, I drove as a daily driver leaving the Navy for ... 10 years!, you name it I fixed it, even after a drive belt broke replacing the Motor from a wreaked 77 car. changed wheel barrions a few times, slave clutch a few times. Was no internet, no club, no one else had them, just me and a Hannes book... I did trade it for another sports car in 87, a New 87 Corvette! I Still miss that Fiat!

My first car was a Bertone x1/9 1984. Silver. I loved it but had a lot of problems with the clutch and never could find anyone who was good at fixing it. No RU-vid back then.
