My first Go pro attempt, but camera left in its waterproof box, so there's little or no sound doh!
It looks like I'm motoring too, but its the wide angle zoom that enhances the speed somewhat more than there really is :-)

Sweet. I when I was at school I told my friend’s mum (a teacher) that she should chop her Vauxhall Nova in for something more fun like an X-19. A week later she’d a beautiful little silver and grey one with a red interior. I was so jealous. My friend ‘borrowed’ it when his mum and dad went on holiday and we drove from Bradford to Newcastle upon Tyne. It’s timing chain disintegrated on the way home. Ouch!

The have a belt, not sure if it is a interference engine or not. but yes if you are not sure on its health change it asap, as you rev the thing to death, great little cars though

My first car, straight from learning in a Vauxhall Nova! I loved the whine of the gearbox and the induction roar from the engine just behind me. Managed a most impressive spin, fortunately on a private road, not long after I got it. One headlamp motor was stuck so it always had a winking look. Also regular as clockwork backfired awesomely a couple of minutes after you stopped the engine - leaking fuel I guess. Had to park on a hill to bump-start as the starter was shagged. Sold it for £50 (in 1994) to get my railway ticket home, wish I hadn't now!

My friend span his too and I've had a few close shaves, they are tricky in the wet unless you have space, which he didn't. They are great cars, mine drove great, electrics were iffy though. It's just the rust, they rust so badly 😌😊

I used to have one. You can see how slow and clunky the gearchange here is - and mine was the same. I learned to double-declutch to get it down the gearbox fast enough...…. Was a great little car. I don't think I realised at the time what a great combination of enjoyable driving good economy and all-around feel good factor it was.

My gear change was a bit vague, but otherwise was fine. Great cars, but they rust 😕

My friend had a beta, an amazing car, until the rust caught up with it, just like x19s 😊

Maybe my other walkarounds are more reviews. i never actually got around to doing one my this or another x19, great, great cars as they are. Their only letdown is rust and you need to be less than 6ft.

@@anticat900 I was impressed with the speed,, had no idea it was such a quick car..I just needed to hear a bit about it as this was a car that I really loved but was too young to experience... I was only 8 or 9 when this came out... Had all sorts of Italian cars .. Lancias, Alfas, Fiats .. I now have a Coupe 20Vt. oh and sorry If I was a little bit disparaging of the video... maybe if you recorded a voice over and add it to the video

why are you on wrong side of road? it would suck to have to shift gears with left hand. thank God I was born in USA. left hand is for dangling out window right hand for shifting.

Right handed drive is for right handed people, having the stronger arm on the important steering (and out of the window) and the weaker on the less important one for gears would surely be the correct technique? Having said that I'm left handed, so I should take to driving foreign 'left hookers' as they drive in unusual lands :-) PS We aren't so rare, lots of countries drive on the left (76), we can also get some very nice imports from Japan too due to this :-) AKA Skyline :-)

Yeah but we can pronounce and spell aluminium correctly... and getting an ambulance ride here doesn't cost as much as buying a car and driving it to a hospital.

@@anticat900 Only issue for the Brits is that Europe is right hand drive, so a european road trip is e bit more difficult. Glad that is if go on hollyday with the car the side of the road is not an issue

@@lordbogus6709 The clue is in the name, the right side of the car is the right side to drive :-). But for me, being left handed, left hand drive cars are better. I have my stronger arm on the wheel and my feeble right hand can do all the unimportant stuff :-)
