Yes. As well as their chemistry worked together, it will be the most beautiful thing to see how USA played in international Basketball tournament. It's really hurt to see when NBA player are fighting and hate each other since they're from different team just like between the Manchester United and Liverpool player in Football Club league.
@@3rdworld-witch527 he played great this tournament. He was exactly what USA needed. A high energy guy to do the dirty work and doesn't need the ball in his hand. Apart from Kyrie Irving who was the tournament MVP he was the only other USA player on the all tournament team. Yes he soon stopped being relevant in the league after this tournament but this tournament was his prime and probably the highlight of his career having never made an all-star game or even the 2nd round
I give the international teams credit though, they dont whine after a little contact for a foul they just get back and play D. USA will always reign supreme in basketball but International teams are always good sports about it. Plus, they always kick our ass in soccer so it goes both ways lol
Ryan Terry I think the international game permits more contact than NBA does, so the international teams probably didn't whine about it because their use to it.
Christopher Tom Yeah in a lot of countries they don't call half the amount of technicals we call. It's just a matter of USA has always been pussies when it comes to sports, but it's for the best. But if you couldn't tell, some of our players do a little better in the more aggressive situations. Today I was watching football clips, and any good play always has some sort of flag. It's ridiculous.
I'm a huge soccer fan (from the Netherlands) and trying to follow the NBA a bit. The USA are really growing in soccer though! A few weeks ago there was an international friendly between the Netherlands and the USA and you guys won! A week later the USA soccer team won against the World Champions Germany! So that latest sentence is'nt right anymore, congratulations!
Erik Schotanus I don't follow all that much, but was it the exact same squad that beat the shit of out Brazil last year? or an entirely different roster?
Christopher Tom It wasn't exactly the same 11 players, but still world class players who all play for top teams around Europe. It was a friendly so Germany might win if it was a game on a tournament. But it still shows that Team USA soccer is getting better. Also the level of the MLS is getting higher because a lot of really good players from Europe (who will retire after a few seasons) are going to the MLS. They will teach the young American kids in their teams a few things and it will probably help them.
This team was one of the most well-built for International play we’ve sent. Tons of outside shooting, dribble penetration ability, and playmaking from the guards. Size, switching ability, rim protection, lob targets, and rebounding from the bigs.
Right!!! They had an average winning margin of 33.2 a much better margin than the 08,12,16 and 2020 team. They built that line up to counter Spain's height advantage. That's why they had 5 legit bigs. I'm not sure why USA is not replicating that kind of line up anymore. They play small ball always no wonder France almost beat them in gold medal match.
The guards on this roster were insane. They had Steph, Kyrie, Harden, Prime D Rose, Prime Westbrook, Prime CP3 lol. Theres not a single team that could keep up with that pace.
Let's be honest, all these team (not U.S.) are playing and going for second place, because everyone knows the U.S. is going to win. Its a tournament for second place
What I meant was that Spain doesn't necessarily come second. As a matter of fact they always have tough competition in other Euro teams such as France and Serbia who more than capable of beating them as proven on the previous two world cups. I would be crazy to argue US supremacy in basketball. i mostly watch American basketball anyway *
I remember watching Irving in that championship game and remember thinking that this kid is going to be a SUPERSTAR. Just incredible handles and clutch shooting!
JacobeyYT He is a very flawed player if you look at his games in the NBA where they don't let him get a clear path to the basket. He would never get 15+ points in a season against a commited defense...
Keep in mind that these are highlights, they only show the made shots. If you looked at raw footage then you could see that he isn’t really all that good.
+Jonathan Estime HEY DO YOU REMEMBER 2006 GREECE-USA WHO WON?? YOU AMERICANS DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY BASKETBALL. IN NBA THE ONLY THING YOU SEE IS A SHOW, NOT QUALITY OF BASKETBALL AND FAKE BECAUSE THERE IS NO DEFENSE. IN THE 90s AND 00s THERE WAS BASKETBALL, NOW THE ONLY THING I CAN SEE IS 3POINTERS AND DUNKS, NOT SMART IQ BASKETBALL LIKE IN EUROPE. THE SMARTNESS THAT LEADERS OF EUROPEAN TEAMS HAVE, LIKE DIAMANTIDIS, THEODOSIC, JIACIKEVICIUC, PAPALOUKAS, SPANOULIS AND OTHERS, IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU .
+george apostolou you so stupid its not even funny the usa has the best players in the world your players wish and try to play over here but they are not good enough. how many gold medals did we win in a row?
+george apostolou when we lose we lose because the nba is in a lockout and we let our COLLEGE players play against your "grown men" who are "professionals". and they still win most of their games. its ok usa is the best. and you say all we do dunk and shoot 3s but the only reason your mad is because your sorry ass people cant do it
2016 Olympic Squad (13-Man Squad): Starters: PG - Stephen Curry SG - Paul George SF - Kevin Durant PF - LeBron James C - Anthony Davis Bench: PG - Russell Westbrook PG - Chris Paul SG - James Harden (Offense 6th man) SG - Jimmy Butler SF - Kawhi Leonard PF - Blake Griffin C - DeMarcus Cousins C - Andre Drummond Just hand them the gold medal already..
The guard play was insane, young Steph/Kyrie/Harden and s finally healthy D Rose. It seemed like they were all trying to outdo eachother but still making the right plays.
shows how dominant the USA teams are, they are literally doing whatever they want. i wouldn't be surprised if instead of curry, harden, kyrie and all of these other really good players (even for NBA standards) were subbed out for lesser players and USA still just dominate.
nbaworthy Spain could have been tougher! Not saying they would have beat them, dont get me wrong usa is obviusly the best just saying that Spain is maybe the only team that is on somewhat of a level, they have the gasol brothers, ibaka, mirotic and alot of ex-nba ballers! in the olympics of 2012 they almost beat our A team with lebron, durant, carmelo, westbrook etc... they won by just 7 points that has to mean theyre good hehehehe :P
I respect the USA team and all but no other countries around the world have like regular season and then summer league season, anyways if there was like a LeBron or Kevin Durant in any other team well then it is like a competition, just saying.
Wow! The more and more I watch Kyrie it scares me to know he's only 24. If Cleveland can get another star (Obviously not love) , this boy can get Lebron some more rings. Kyrie can flat out ball, MY GOD! That boy is so young with championship experience. I'm scared for the nba these next years!
@@x_nasheed_x9622 jabberwock was just a street ball USA team ....Japan had to run their best players for that ...not even in anime they can take down US
+laynebrock we repeat these countries don't know how to guard the alleyoop! Duh the only competition the U.S has in basketball are our basketball teams playing each other!
+mahoganyc miles lol its just hilarious ti watch these countries get crushed year after year. Hell i only watch the olympics for my NBA playas. Now that LeBron and the Cavaliers are 2016 champions i cant wait to see the usa demolish again
I thought when you pass it in after the other team scores you have to be out of bounds. Because I did that one time in basketball and they gave us a turn over.
Had tons of subscribers tell me that throughout the years, I've had people steal my video and crop out my watermark lmao so I have no choice but to make it visibly seen now.
So this was when they still fielded franchise players, young as they were. The 2019 team comprised mostly of role players. Gotta treat international competition a bit more seriously
The US is so dominant. So many juke moves. So much aerial control and flexibility. I love it. Kyrie's layups? WTH?! So much body control. Best sport on the planet.
He's like Draymond Green is to the GSW, they are both energizer bunnies. They set the tone and mood of the team, they are the emotional leaders, they hustle on every play, they may not be as talented or gifted as other players, but they hold their own and more with their tenacity, grit, scrappiness, and emotional dominance.
