Awesome set complimented by some great commentary from Toph, which is expected, but you have to appreciate both Hbox and Armada as well. Hbox's commentary was hype as hell and Armada is as informative as ever.
Nice job by Leffen making top 8 despite his controller issues and choosing to play when he could have dropped out instead. Also this commentary set up which allowed Hbox to bless us with his wisdom and hype was cool so hopefully other tournaments may use it. Hbox has always been one of the top players who will commentate at summit when he has a chance which is cool since many others do not. Maybe if Mang0 wasn't being such a baby he could of at least commentated if he really didn't want to play since he does have good insight on the game but oh well.
@@anthonyvarzino1094 nah he's got other characters, we've seen him play Fox and Shiek and he did get top 8 with them so i think it's just him not turning off the content brain
For some reason I don’t like when hbox commentates. I think he dominates the hypes moments a little too much. Maybe I’m biased and want more of other people though…
I agree. I think he's much more suitable to the Ultimate style of commentary of trying to create more hype, which I'm not a fan of and just isn't as necessary in melee. In my opinion, he doesn't leave enough room for the other commentators and they are forced into a yelling match because he just starts screaming nonsense for long periods, even mid game. It's such a treat to have Armada here, and it's really a shame for him (and other good commentators like Toph) to be overshadowed by Hbox's loud stream-of-consciousness-style commentary.
I love his solo commentary. When hes onstream commentating, hes amazing. When hes on a panel he always has the loudest voice(just a trait of hbox. nothing wrong with it) and it drowns out the other commentators too much. I honestly think vish and toph are the best commentating duo by a long shot. Toph and scar are great and have great chemistry, but scar always interjects with personal stories and anecdotes and it detracts from the game. Vish, toph, turndownforwalt and rader is my favorite honestly tho. When it isnt grands they are the best commentary panel by far. Walt n radar dont miss a beat when it comes to mixups and technical interactions and then you just have toph and vish just constantly keeping the commentary fluent and flowing. But for grands, stick with vish and toph. They're by far the best
@@InfiniteEditsHD Toph and Scar are both horribly Mango biased though, but of the two of them I prefer Scar and his anecdotes/stories. Toph tries to analyse but isn't nearly as good at it as a top player. Armada's really good at it, Hbox as well, but not in this set unfortunately
Major difference between Leffen and HBox is when Hbox commentates leffen he’s very respectful of him, I feel like leffen isn’t the same way in the mic about Juan
@@imaginationland474 Yes, If I remember right he lost to Taj's Mewtwo, and then to like the rank 100 player who's name I can't recall. Getting eliminated in pools.
At the start of the set, HBox makes a comment about why there were so few Falcos in this bracket. Maybe I missed something, but what was he referring to?
Skill level maybe, he’s so much better on the edge cancel recoveries, shield drop aerials, feel like he’s a lot better with shine out of shield and drop down shines, shine stalls etc Don’t get me wrong I’m the biggest mango fan just a difference in styles, think mang0’s aggression is a lot better (fiction seems to be passive in a lot of options) and I think mang0 uses lasers a lot better as well as he just has that X factor instinct
