I bought a rubber plant for my first plant. Over the past 2 years Cornelius has grown like crazy. I was totally new to having plants and was easy to care for. Looks great in the house
Great video ! I do have a question what do you recommend doing after you buy a plant from a nursery? I’ve heard multiple things like keep them away from your other plants or using warm water with soap and give them a good cleaning and replace the soil before any larva gets a chance to hatch soo I would really like an experts opinion please
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. You could start by wiping down the leaves if you like to freshen them up a bit and perhaps remove a pest or two if it does have any, but really what will be your saving grace will be to quarantine them for a few weeks away from the rest of your houseplants, just in case it does have any. No need to do anything crazy like change the soil, the plant will go through enough stress with the change in environment and no need for you to stress either. Just quarantine it and watch if for the next few weeks. If after that you don't notice anything. than it would be safe at that point to put it with the rest of your houseplant. Question please. I rescued a plant from a dumpster. Big plant in very small pot. But still alive. I trimmed it back and now new shoots appearing up the stems. The bits I removed, I've put in water. And now shoots are appearing, but no roots. Have I done something wrong, or will it take time for roots to appear!..
The tineke was my first house plant! I almost killed it entirely. Ended up only being able to salvage 2 leaves and nodes. Been propagating them in perlite for 3 months and the roots aee foing crazy! Going to move them to soil today. Any suggestions?
Glad to hear you were able to salvage some of it. I would use a soil mix that can retain water, something like 2 parts coir to 1 part perlite and keep the soil moist for about the first 2-3 weeks. This will help them get accustomed to the drier media. Then slowly start to back off the water until you're watering when the soil is about 50% dry. How long are the roots on the cuttings?
I hate you. I bought an ficus elasticae robusta a couple months ago and all the care video showed a robusta and a teneka. So I wanted the teneka. And now, your video (great by the way) shows a third type !!! And now I want it, do you have the name of the variation by the way ? please. But thank you, I'll keep watching your excellent videos anyway. Eventhough I don't have anymore space for new plant.
@@monstrofarmI moved it towards a window under a grow light and it started growing again 🥹💚 I’m super exited to see it grow more again. I’m thinking about pruning it after it grows a bit more
