In this video, I will explain the FIDIA C40 and ViMill Anticollision Software.
At the International Manufacturing Technology Show in 2014, Century Tool first saw the Fidia C40 Vision Control with its ViMill anti-collision software.Following the event, the firm ordered the hardware and software components for a new Fidia GTFM.V3 five-axis milling machine."The C40 control quickly struck us since it can manage very huge data programmes of 50 megabytes or more."Some mould surfaces are extremely intricate and detailed."The Fidia controls can manage large data files while still providing seamless and precise results," Mr. Guckian explains. "At Century Tool, we also work on older compression moulds that need to be updated with new engineering improvements, which usually entails more surface cut blending."For these sorts of jobs, a high level of finish is required.The Fidia controls have considerably increased this capacity by extending their look-ahead from 300 to 1,000 lines of point data, allowing the system to better prepare itself for the incoming forms.For example, any mould shop employing five-axis milling machines wants fast cutting speed and great surface smoothness, and Mr. Guckian claims that Century Tool achieves outstanding surface finish due to its ability to accurately manage acceleration and deceleration.According to Mr. Correa, the multi-processor architecture of the C40 Vision Management controls the user interface, axis and toolpath control, as well as ViMill real-time anti-collision software, all of which work together to achieve rapid cutting rates and high-quality surface finishes. "Having fast processors is one thing, but you also need extremely strong communication software characteristics to enable the drives and motors to interact at these rapid feed rates," he explains."The Fidia control allows the machine to be fine-tuned for numerous dynamics, such as component weight, length and breadth, spindle speeds, rigidity-basically whatever is required to get a very accurate finish in a shorter amount of time." Fidia's ViMill software in the C40 Vision Control is user-friendly and easy to train operators to use. Its anti-collision feature provides safe milling conditions for very complex mould machining. ViMill projects 1,000 lines of code to prevent any collisions between the tool, machine, and workpiece.
