People think it's a problem that he doesn't place himself solid on the left or right or center, but that's his hidden strength. Those traditional labels determine a typical lawmaker's politics... but Fidias simply wants to determine things on his own. This is his promise to people and this is the TRUE DEFINITION OF AN OPEN MIND.
You raised a good point about Europe not leading in much. However, they do lead in semiconductor equipment (asml in the Netherlands) and also in the glp 1 craze (novo norodisk- but I'd question its long term sustainability). Europe does not typically engage in as much venture capital and risk as in the US however, and this tends to gravitate new innovations (and failures, with that) to the USA. But in the long term, it's obviously been a bit net benefit. Europe also leads in shipbuilding, but one of the biggest long term blunders was their previous leadership (and subsequent complacency) in smartphones. That would be Nokia of Finland.
