I can’t believe this thing doesn’t have a lot of different reviews or videos yet. I received mine a few weeks ago and I’m going to put it in a foamie first before a balsa build. The FT guys are awesome and I am SURE the product works just as advertised. I’m just curious if anyone has used it in trainer mode - I believe this would be level assist, but not positive - and if it has a similar feeling to SAFE select. From what I have been reading and hearing, it has a similar profile to As3x, but haven’t found anyone who has used it in different modes, particularly a mode similar to SAFE select. Anyway, thank you to all the FT guys for everything you do, and thank you to all the people who have helped myself and others get back into the hobby!
Awesome. My first experience with the Aura lite was on the Pirana from Flex Innovations, and I have the to say I'm impressed with the programing features. Thank you for the video, it's very detailed.
I watched the previous one set up guide video and this one. Good work Josh. But what seems to be important is to set the plane on a level ground while powering it up. This prevents bad Gyro reading. Gonna try this new fc on my old tiny trainer. If it works, we will start to build the new Corsair mini and set it up with another fc board. As always, thanks for your work for this special hobby. 👍😉
I'm really enjoying watching the Aura vids lately and am becoming more hungry to get better at flight RC. Josh makes it appear so simple to get set up and going and I know all the bases are covered with the committed FT team. I've been afraid of spending for a sim but seriously looking at RealFlight9 again during my current furlough. I haven't researched yet what you guys suggest for a simulator. Thanks for another fun and informative show.
Waiting for mine to show up, then just have to decide what to put it in! THANK YOU! May put it on another RMRC wing, the Strix Alatus. Should be very similar setup but with much higher power.
Thanks for your help Josh ! I have a couple of questions though: 1. I am using a Zorro 4:1 transmitter and I can't find any Flite Test videos explaining how to use it. Could you produce a video explaining the various functions of this radio or guide me towards a written manual to help me with its operation. 2. I have purchased from Test Flite an Aura 5 Lite flight controller and have gone successfully through all the binding and setting up installation steps but I cannot activate the Launch Assist function . When I try nothing happens, the LED's remain in the orange-green steady light position without the red LED flashing. My Throttle is low and all Ail/Ele/Rud controls centered as far as I can tell. Can you help? I have installed it in an FT Tutor Turbo plane.
looks really complicated for a new flier. I can barely fly in safe let alone do the trim in 3axis mode. I want to buy but I'm not sure I could get through the field setup alive...lol Is it really this difficult or am I overthinking it?
Dear Josh Bixler, I was asking the Support before. There is still one unanswered question. Why can't I put my aura into 6 Axis mode again after I had to rebind my Spektrum DX6e to the Spektrum satellite receiver and the Aura5? Please!
Josh, Its me again I got my unit on Saturday and got it set up flew my plane with differential thrust and flys great but I am maybe confused, I have way to much power when i switch to Diff thrust and give left or right rudder, I was lowering the DR on the software for rudder but does this not effect the Diff thrust? is there another way to lower the gain of that part of it? my motors seem to be running wide open and its just way to violent i keep throwing off one of my props. Thanks for any info on this. So far i love the unit itself.
Hi Josh, i had a aura5 receiver, but no satelite remote receiver, can i use this even without sat.remote? or should i buy, and what satelite.rec is compatable for aura5? Thank's and have a day.
Josh, can you please show how to set up a plane using Flaperons? I bought the Aura 5 but I can't seem to get the flaperons to work correctly using switch D on my DX6e.
Hi Josh new to the hobby still but have a flex innovations pirana and having a few issues with the setup is there anyway I can contact just to confirm a few things thanks Ron.
I have airplane that when installed will not allow access to the FT Aura buttons. How can I store the trim setting in the field? Can I have a USB cable connected and available at the battery location, then connect to a laptop to save the trim settings?
Can someone please help me figure out why I can’t get 6 axis mode to initiate on a 3 position toggle? 2 of my positions are gyro off and the 3rd positions is 3 axis
I have video edit request. Kill the dink dink dink dink music. It adds nothing, but is does give mixed info regarding the link up of the system. I've got a headache now.
Thanks for this video it explains more things. Can you please explain how to set up for differential thrust on a twin engine? I just ordered it today and building a twin need to know how to make it work. sure hope I am able to set up to do elevons and Diff thrust both on the same plane. I started a thread on RCG if anyone wants to come join in and post info if anyone knows I was shocked it didn't already have its own thread about this awesome looking unit. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3548599-NEW-FT-Aura-5-Lite-Stabilizing-unit#post43961169
epoweredrc in the configuration wizard on the computer, you simply select 2 motor with differential thrusting in the drip down menu. Then you make sure your aux 1 is on a 2 position switch. Follow the servo port layout on the wizard and you are done! No mixes or stress. Aux 1 switch turns the differential thrust on and off. Differential thrust stabilization profile is getting tuned now and will be ready soon. Check out tomorrow’s vid to see a demo. :) This will be covered in a future video.
@@joshbixler1261 Thank you Josh for the fast reply. I will be looking forward to that video.. I got shipping notice today says be Monday before i get it, look forward to getting it and playing around with it. Thanks again, Chris
