The thing me and quite a few of the other guys have experienced with both of the new Fieldpiece leak detectors is. They start out working great, but then after a few hours of usage they seem to get a little squirrely and they start acting up. I've had the Amprobe for several years (mainly as a backup) and I trust it as well. For the money it's really hard to beat that RLD-1 from Amprobe. Time will tell with the Fieldpiece. 😎👍

I have the DR58 and it works well. You should try turning it on outside where you know the is no leak. Then go to the condenser and check around there. I leave it on the enter the house. if it goes off just entering the house. Most likely your leak is inside. That meter is very sensitive and works amazingly well. But it will auto zeros when it gets flooded with refrigerant. check you welds and drag the tip over the areas you make think it may be leaking. Always make sure the is pressure and or refrigerant in the system before checking for leaks. Good job John.

Are you running the H10 Pro in Auto or manual? I find it hard to believe that the field piece even comes close to the H10 Pro. Half the battle of the H10 Pro is knowing how to calibrate it and use it in manual. I’ve found leaks with just a few pounds of pressure. I’ve been using the H10 Pro since it came out. I’ve tried so many others and always come back to it. 😉

I heard dat beep(s). Most times the the leaks are in the (evap) coil. I have a Yellow Jacket Accu Probe leak detector.
