Good job Everyone needs A/C mobile home, apartments condos. I saw a family of six in an 800 square foot row house. They all need A/C and heat. Seen people live 60 years in a single wide. P.A. country living.
A TXV should be installed with Staybrite 8. With a good install and vacuum, the TXV is a very robust metering device. Looks like a hack install from the get go.
I have a 3.5 ton AS unit 20 model as well, contactor went out on it as well, also these units trane and As have really cheap outside condenser fan motors made in China and these motors are rusting out very badly and trane will not replace them even though they are warranted for 10 years to all do not go with trane or AS units, I will never buy one of these units again high price units very cheap parts and poor customer support.
Should not blame Goodman for you not having the right tools. Metal whip outside is fine the unit is grounded. Having the hot hit the unit not very professional. The reason contractors want to pay 2or3 thousand install is because they know how easy it is to do. Charging 10 to 15 for install should be a crime. I’m no hvac guy butt been doing my own installs and friends for 30 years. Buying the unit and install for about 4,500. Just saying.
that bubble is a fill weld on the cap. it has nothing to due with the cap being bad. If you see oil on the cap then yes it's bad, only way to know is an mfd test. I would still suggest replacement of cap, you are deadly close to its threshold. you know they had a nasty filter and changed it b4v you got there!!!
Are you running the H10 Pro in Auto or manual? I find it hard to believe that the field piece even comes close to the H10 Pro. Half the battle of the H10 Pro is knowing how to calibrate it and use it in manual. I’ve found leaks with just a few pounds of pressure. I’ve been using the H10 Pro since it came out. I’ve tried so many others and always come back to it. 😉
John,.. do your thing, and how you want to do it. Forget all the a-holes who always have negative complaints on what you should and should not do. Wish you could install my new HVAC system. Keep up the good work! 👍
Yes, they are still using them. I'm having a new compressor installed as I am writing this. I bought American Standard 2 1/2 years ago. They are very expensive. And to find out their using LG is a disappointment, other than the fact that this is still a new unit. I will not be buying this brand again. Save your money!! Don't waste it on American Standard.
Can I connect it to the hot side of the contactor instead of the switch side? The compressor uses less amps when it's connected directly to the hot side...
Definitely don’t make them like they used to. I have a Lennox elite series 3 ton unit from 2002 with a partially corroded coil from my old dog a few years back and the unit still runs strong and keeps the house freezing cold all summer long. Only repair that’s been done on the unit thus far has been replacing an old capacitor. That’s it. Other than that still runs like a freakin champ 22 years on
Great video. Other RU-vid video's that I've watched mentioned that the orientation of the relay is important. They showed the schematic which called for the screw to be at the top. Perhaps the unit you purchased does not have that requirement.
Thank you! I came home from a 2 week vacation to a hot house. Found pan was filled with water, I sucked it clean with wet vac, turned unit back on and it works! Thank you!!!
