My standard bearer is Sun Haven, not Stardew. I love the fact that you can disable combat if you just want a more chill experience, and reenable it if you want more of a challenge. In fact, they let you customize the whole experience, from how long the day lasts to whether you have to deal with pests on your farm. I wish more games would do this.
I'm not saying that you and anyone else here said this but it really grinds my gears when I hear people saying things like "Stardew Valley is the precursor of farming games!" It's not! Harvest Moon was among the first farming games! Stardew Valley didn't come out until years after Harvest Moon's debut.
Harvest Moon AND Rune Factory (it has spells too, you can also take anyone in the village with you to go fight monsters and they all have their own unique classes and weapon types). Rune Factory 3 is my fav
@@harumitsu3014 Rune Factory 4 was actually my very first farming game and what got me into the genre. My first "real" farming game was Story of Seasons Trio of Towns.
Do you remember the name of the mod that’ll make Stardew look like this, please? I’m sure there’s many but is there one main one? This art style/coloring I like a lot more
@@Jenny_Rose_ hi, sorry for the late reply!! the mod I was mainly talking about was the Starry Sky Interface Reworked mod by walpi & snowypines on Nexus Mods. I think if you added a portrait mod (like StardewValley Anime Mods by ohodavi) and some recolor mod it would set the vibes well!
The fishing mechanic and animation are the same as Rune Factory 4, just to say. Though the game collects bits from every other farming games, I feel like it’s a wonderful combination. Not to mention the characters, they are superb.
Surprised you didn’t mention that the graphics are *very* similar to early Zelda games-the trees, the edges on the land, etc. Loving the look, love that you can choose your pronouns, and love that you can swim and jump! Bit disappointing that there isn’t much of a challenge to bug-catching and that mining is so punishing straight away, but nothing’s perfect. I’m just hoping we don’t have to wait like 2 years for a fully-realized switch release!
I’m sooo happy this is getting good reviews. I had high hopes. I looove the art style and coloring and I’m happy it sounds like it has enough in common with the GOAT. Ahh shoot, I love fishing in games too and I’m thrilled it’s like ACNH
Played the demo and was definitely intrigued. Wish it was longer, but will probably play it a few times for sure. Getting a little tired of the Early Access thing myself but that won’t stop me from jumping on it the minute it’s available in August!
I'll be trying out the demo, but I really hope the final build has a way to make combat easy or disable it completely. Combat is what makes these kinds of games not cozy for me and has ruined some experiences for me.
Looks good to me. I have A steam deck but looks like a game most best suited for switch. Don’t forget stardew valley was basically a clone of harvest moon (story of seasons ).
I hope this game comes to the switch in the near future. Because I'm intrigued. Even though I don't play 2d games anymore. It's just too bad it doesn't have voice acting though. I hope there's no consequences in this game when you stay up beyond midnight though.
