This year's graphics comparison of FIFA 18 and PES 2018 is quite difficult. Both games look nice, both have totally different atmosphere and lighting. I captured both on PC with 4K UHD resolution. Emphasis on close up... After buying the game the grass looks much more true to life compared to FIFA minus the super close ups maybe. Been playing FIFA the last several rounds, this time I think I'll be mostly with PES if modding works well.

modding works well on all esp with licensing. but honestly are we looking at the same game, that pitch in pes, is awful, it doesn't look real, Fifa's graphics overall looks better in play view, pes are great at players faces and stadiums are nice, but i honestly can't stand the pitch, it looks like fifa 98 from a far, way to bright.

Night lighting of the pitch looks really bad in FIFA. Way too dark. Player models look better in PES. I can't understand why FIFA can't even make the correct ballsize? Looks like you're playing with a handball.

EA, you need to fix the color of that dark ass green grass to a more bight green, increase rim lighting on the players and environment under night and day lighting, especially overcast and keep the floodlight shadows under the players on when the flood lights are on and jesus christ don't get me started with the flat ass looking hair in this game, give it some realistic shine!!!!!!!!!!!! And What the fuck is that ugly ass lighting in the Bombonera, no vibrancy at all. Lighting artist need to look at the how the colors look in real life

Actually, you never played soccer right? Alexnene Oro Have you ever watched a match on tv in night conditions? Because of the floodlights of the stadium, the pitch is pretty bright. In FIFA it's far too dark, it looks like the floodlights aren't on. And even in day conditions, with a bright sun, the pitch is much brighter than the one in FIFA. In FIFA it looks like they add an "Instagram-filter" to make it look more "yellowish and dark".

Both games look stunning, Konami did a wonderful job with the player faces while Fifa's stadiums are breathtaking. It's always hard to compare FIFA and PES for me, I like to play PES more when all by myself but FIFA has a much better online when I want to compete with others, so I guess it's another year I'll end up getting both.

when playing on 4K with 970M (~GTX 960) , it candle FIFA 18 with constant fps on native refresh rate with no drops . but it cant handle pes 2018 with constant fps, it only get ~40fps. PES is definitely more demanding than FIFA this year. p.s both game running flawlessly on 1080p

I'm a PES Fan and both have FullHD 1080p 1440p and 4K resolutions. It's incredible on both the graphics. But Pes players movements are more fluid and Natural.. On. Other hand FIFA grass is nice and on Pes the grass(pitch) looks like green carpet still so bad why they don't correct that thing!

Griezmann's corner kick looks so unnatural in PES. People who are saying that, that kind of movement would break the ankle, have never kicked the ball, or never seen anyone do so. Its physically impossible to cross the ball from the corner flag if your body shape is like that in PES

So not true. FIFA has nice graphics,but Pes graphics is better IMO, both games capture football from different perspective doesn't mean one is awful. But gameplay wise, pes 2018 is surely the best in history, looks and feels very much like football, while EA needs to work a lot on FIFA's gameplay and connect it to real-world football

Subsurface scattering of the skin is better in PES 18 imo. In FIFA it looks a bit matte. The face models are better in FIFA though, but the hair looks more realistic in PES.

This year i will buy PES, i haven't buy a PES game since PES 2014, i play on PC and i will not pay a single dime for a last gen port, now knowing that the PC port is the real deal i will totally come back. i really couldn't find my place in FIFA tho.

Played PES demo yesterday and i was thinking how can people play this over fifa? The gameplay was so boring and outdated and robotic. And the menu almost made me delete the demo right away, FIFA will always be better than PES.

Pes 18 se ve de maravilla! los festejos se ven mucho mejor que en FIFA por nombrar algo. Las animaciones en general me gustan mas en PES

the pitch, atmosphere and lighting are better in Fifa, while the players(especially their hair) and the gameplay looks better in Pes.

Fifa 18 have strange filters and increased contrast compared to Fifa 17 or PES 18. Even HDR looks weird on my XD93 Sony TV. They should fix it.

I am a PES fan but I gotta admit FIFA has improved with new gameplay features quiet amazing with the dribbles, new upgrades for the skills, and good response from players, and graphics got bit better but I hope they have improved the career mode style I ment need new edition editing creat new logos or import logos for kits.

Played FIFA 18 demo yesterday. The last FIFA I played and bought was 15. And I see no difference between the two, EA says the dribbling was revamped but I don't see it, maybe the animations are a bit different but other than that running off the ball and dribbling feel the same as in previous games, the goalkeepers have exactly the same animations as in 11, the commentary hasn't changed at all either, generally they're charging $60 like this was a completely new AAA game while it's a refreshed version of FIFA 11/12.
