FIFA 23 Review 

FIFA never disappoint us when it comes to disappointing us.

FIFA is basically a card collector game with so little improvements each year. It's staggering how minimal effort is put into these games.

EA should release a FIFA game every 4 years to do it justice while updating the current game for free for 3 years.

At this point these new installments could easily just be updates to the current game. The only reason there are still yearly releases is blatant greed.

EA never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity

Of course IGN gave it a 7, the most publisher friendly score for the quality we all know

If this gets a 7, give NHL 23 a 5

Shits on the game all review long - 7/10 as to not upset EA who have vast wallets & no doubt put a lot of sponsorship money into IGN's site.

The passing through ball and dribbling has been horrendous

it's sad that the new gen has taken us to fantastic worlds, like the wild west, the samurai era, the post apocalyptic ones and to the racing worlds like f1, rally, gt BUT it's taken away from us what probably we were dreaming about more when we were kids... football

As an A League fan it’s hysterical you guys played as Brisbane Roar. Nothing like David Ball outrunning Sergio Ramos.

EA still think the best way to make the game harder is to make AI defenders terrible, they don't mark, they don't track runs, every game in career mode has 10 goals in it, too easy to score but impossible to defend, been broken for years and they don't even try and fix it

Only IGN would make an 8 minute review for a game in a series we got every year

I’m actually preferring the last gen version, the pace feels a bit slower to me. Pretty fun game with the right settings though, for me it’s full manual and pro difficulty.

it just takes a roster change, a slight change in the controls and an additional, but small, mechanical changes for them to drop a new game

A 6 at best for any game that comes out year after year with nothing new to offer..esp when microtransactions are abundant in them...

I’ve bought fifa from 2011 to 2022 never played a game of ultimate team in my life,I never really cared.

But ??? The big question is. .. Is it a step in the right direction???

Silly thought-given that the trend with sport video games has devolved into disappointing attempts at full game annual updates, it’d be great if a company decided to change the paradigm to focusing on a solid base game (without all the ridiculousness around micro transactions) one year, and then perhaps releasing roster updates and feature enhancements as optional DLC for a set period of time afterwards rather than trying to sell a whole “new” game each year. In this dream scenario, one dev team is focusing on creating a new base game every few years, perhaps, while another team is focused on the updates to the current base, ensuring the expected roster updates and perhaps modest feature bumps. Even if feature bumps to the current base are annoyingly parceled out, it’d still seem preferable to the current mode of annual sprints resulting in lackluster games. While this doesn’t change company directives like priority of micro transactions, it might at least alleviate some of the deadline pressures of annually reinventing the wheel, so to speak.

There’s a bug in career mode for me which makes my team have ‘unknown’ morale making them sluggish and shoot like they’ve had their foot put on backwards. There’s a bug report on EA but don’t know how long it will take them to fix it (if they ever do) makes the game unplayable and just getting a shot on target is mostly 1/100z

If you make a review on eFootball 23, then wait a bit, we still need 2 big updates before eF23 is a full version. Believe the last update will come in latest in February, but that is just a guess.

Please do another fifa switch review for this year.

6 out of 10 online opponents are just runners. They run with a fast-paced player, and at last, shoot. There's no "football" involved in that. It's so frustrating.

Wait people can actually play the game without it saying your purchase is unauthorised?

The Fifa game engine from my understanding has been built upon so many times over the years that the original people who worked on it have left leaving the current group unable to do anything with it. So a new game engine is definitely needed and will hopefully be a truly new game next time.

Cant wait to get into this game. Havent played a FIFA since FIFA 08 on the PS2!

The lack of attention to the lower leagues of the US is unfortunate. Lower league team Sacramento Republic FC made it to the final of the U.S. Open cup (basically a Carabao cup).

Fifa since 17 has been a game of who has the best xonnto the servers rather than best team. Been playing Fifa 23 for 2 days and its just the same heavy leggy input delayed gameplay as other years. Another waste of £60. Absolutely gutted

This fifa is litterally the worst I've ever played. You cant dribble, defenders catch up to the fastest wingers in the game, you get utterly bizzare rebounds go against you. You cannot keep the ball for more than a split second. It's truly truly awful

2k has an entire mode centered around the history of the NBA. Ea feels like the same thing every year. Can’t even give us a couple of classic teams

It's EA every year. Same thing, just slightly modified, either upgrading or downgrading, hoping for different results.

Usually a plus if you also can play the game after you buy it, but hey I'm not a game developer
