Remember that on NBA 2k you can rebrand your teams however you want and you can download community created jerseys, arenas and logos. If 2k brings this over to fifa, there is gonna be 0 problems with licensing, u just have to manually download a teams branding
No matter what names will be for certain leagues, it doesnt matter. All players belong to FIFPro licence and all players will be in game with FIFPro licence and for PC modders will easily add original kits/badges/names to clubs.
Console players are the majority of the player base and 9 times out of 10 on console you can’t mod or have the game just allow you to change names and stuff. That’s why the licenses are so important
im a career mode guy, the biggest thing for me in career mode is realism, so if im managing liverpool, and i come against man blue im gonna shut the game off instantly.
If it’s 2k you will be able to download community creations aka you will have to just download the licenses, the players are licensed as it’s fifa so I think we will be good
@jakubdabrowski2711 I think the FIFPro licenses for the player names are separate from the FIFA naming license, but Take Two Interactive is big enough to spend money on all of these licenses. Players can live with the leagues being called "English League", "Spanish League" etc., if the club names and badges are there.
It won't give the licenses. It'll just make modding easier. The only reason Community creations allows that in NBA and WWE is because NBA and WWE sell the licence for the league, teams and players and employees at the companies. Football is going to be very different because teams own their rights separate to the leagues and in some countries, individual players own their rights.
@LeKNG No, you're wrong. AEW creations and many branded logos are all over WWE 2K games and they do not have any ownership of the wrestlers or AEW and the creators are still able to make everything look authentic to the real thing. Maybe you have never played a fully edited version of PES before, because even that game was able to have all the leagues, kits and players with zero ownership and full freedom to modders and just gamers who like to have fun editing stuff.
@@LeKNGif they just put in the same community editing center they have in nba 2k where people can upload college teams with no problem then i think we should be able to have prem/la liga teams
@@LeKNGi guess you're right in that it won't be officially "licensed" but with what the user can do (especially considering 2k's other products) i don't think it'll matter that much yk
To be honest, I've never really cared about licensing as I use to prefer PES back in the day. The only reason I went to Fifa is because all my mates played it
Agreed, but trust that it wont be 2K who give us that. We live in a world where people willingly exchange their real money for virtual money, so that they can spend it on virtual jewelry🤦♂️
I agree 2k should heavily focus on non-ultimate team game modes, but honestly ultimate team needs a revolution. I stopped playing FIFA around FIFA 20, cuz UT just didnt feel the same anymore. I remember back in 2016/2017, having even just an inform player on my team would be amazing, but they started saturating the game with so many special cards that it ruined the entire fun of it. The gameplay also somehow seemed to become more unrealistic and less fun year after year. I would consider coming back to a football game if there was a good one
I dont really care if the premier league is called the england league if the gameplay, features are top notch and gameplay doesn't crash for every reason than im all in
under 2k can't you download community created jerseys, stadiums, player names? If so, the RAW game can have the generic players and Teams but we can manually download the licensed versions within the games.
I was also thinking this. Even if they don’t have certain licenses I think they can still do older players with a team that doesn’t have exactly the same name
In PES Liverpool were Merseyside Red. EA's grip is called a Monopoly "In a monopoly market, the seller faces no competition, as he is the sole seller of goods with no close substitute."
Really like the nba2k my player so a ⚽️ version is the reason why I’ll be trying it out 😎 the way you talk about the Portuguese league I’m the same way about the Mexican league 🤣 hope they bring it to 2k 🔥
I remember in the PS1 when Konami released their first ISS football game they got everyone from the fifa community to switch to Konami while they had fake club, players and league names all over, but the gameplay was so great and fun to play. I think the same might happen again this time with 2K if they come up with some great gameplay cause that’s what people care about the most. So I really hope 2K makes a great football game !
As a person who used to play Pro Evo growing up, you could import the official kits, badges, tournement names, etc on PS and PC using community websites so I don't think team licensing is a huge deal as long the players are real and authentic
Guys. Fifa 2K wont come out until at least summer 2025 anyways. If you have a new gen Console just play the UFL open beta tommorow. I think UFL will be the biggest Fifa comeptitor as of now because it will come out much earlier.
@@10thwonder Lowkey gotta agree after testing it. The passing, shooting, and changing in direction feels so delayed. The tackling is like a stun if you dont hit and the movement feels like youre on ice.
PES survived without the Licences for so long because it allowed modders to just add the Licences now if FIFA 2k doesn't have that option it's gonna be hard for them to compete no matter how good the gameplay is.
Realism is very important to me. I’ll go with whatever game is more realistic to. I mainly only play career mode. I still hate that Napoli and Roma and maybe Atalanta are not official in the game
I hope they do the expansion option so we can add teams to different divisions and maybe cap it at 24 teams per league. The prem with more clubs would be crazy. Up to 4 club relegation. Each new club you add starts with a draft with current free agents and some real players from each team who are not in their 18 player squads. Players not selected remain at their own clubs.
Competition within sport games is incredibly important for the futur of gaming. A company that has monopoly over a sport game is really not a good thing as they don't feel the pressure to make a better product. But one negative aspect that comes with competition it's the licensing issue. Exclusive rights are whats preventing a game to have all leagues and teams that they wish to have which is bad. But, if 2k can overcome this big issue by allowing players to share their custom teams design like we can in NBA 2k it would be huge! Import custom logos, editing the jerseys, name, stadium. The issue would be for the most part resolve. If they don't do that, I fear that the game would not sell as much as they wish for. It's the frickin Top 3 leagues in the world that we are talking about and maybe even more, they can't allow themself to do nothing about that.
The truth is 2k makes a great game every year. People hate the microtransactions of NBA2k, but that's separate from the gameplay. NBA 2k, NFL 2k, Top Spin, PGA Tour 2k, have or are good games and I expect FIFA 2k to be the better game. The left stick is insane in NBA 2k and I can only imagine what it will be like in FIFA.
i agree 100% it will be hard to get past not having the propper names an stuff like that but good game play an an a very good career mode will swing alot of people. only time will tell if the game sells well if will give then no choice but to be able to get full rights.
What I would love to see is the sharing of the licences just like how NBA Live and NBA 2K used to do. That will level the playing field in terms of licences and player likeness and put even more emphasis on game play, modes, features, edit option, etc.
I’m tired of playing the same Career mode since 2014 also with the same dialogs and not updates as long as they do something more fun I’m happy with it
If they do option files like PES used to, we will be ok, because the PES community is still creating the Option files for old versions of PES so that the fans can get updated teams and kits every season. If there was a good career mode and the gameplay is good I would still give it a go without the licencing.
in nba2k they have pro am which is like clans for competitive matchmaking games and you can make your own logos and names so that licensing won’t matter in mycareer and imagine the custom uniforms 🔥🔥🔥
The problem with 2k (I’ve realized mostly with top spin) is that they won’t re create a game as interactive and as versatile as the nba games, if they are able to make the fifa games like this then they’ll sell
fc will still boss the community ... licensing is everything and they know more about football video games than all the potential competitors fifa included
I want an authentic football simulator. Licenses are not even essential. Just genuine football physics and intelligent, cooperative AI. Something that requires footballing brain to play it better and rewards skill. A game where tactics also work as in the real life, allowing many ways of playing and letting us experiment. PES Master Legue had some of this back in the day. It had no real players or teams, but you could play it day and night just because of the gameplay. Put the gameplay at the forefront
I wish teams and leagues would sell rights to use them in games rather than exclusivity. With it like this we'll never have a fully authentic football game.
FIFA owns everything, so it's strange that a FIFA game would have no licences.. but if they just allow modders to make mods (which would be an ultimate win for them), we will be fine.
to this day i still play pes 2021, you can upload images to a pen and copy them into badges/kits/managers and the community wont stop adding the new kits as they do for years now, i play on ps4 so i cant use mods but “my pes” is super on point as i create young players or players transfered from non-leagues on the game, basic license and freedom to edit the game is more than sufficient, the only thing fifa has is licensing, the gameplay is horrible and dont resembles football… abraço de portugal mano e tudo a correr bem estamos juntos!
Honestly career modes are my biggest hype when it comes to a football game coming from 2k. hope it’s good none of that ultimate team P2W bullshit please ❤
If the game is good, then it will only a matter of time when the big leagues will switch. One big thing that will be a strength will be the World Cup and other FIFA associated tournaments will be associated with 2k. And I like how NBA 2K celebrates the history of basketball with the MyEras mode, I think FIFA could benefit from that as well. Can you imagine go through different timelines in the past for World Cups like Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo and Zidane etc? They did the same with the MyEras with NBA 2K with Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan as well. Also I would like them to bring back modes from previous World Cup and Euro games like Captain Your Country, Global Scenarios, Story of Qualifying and Story of Finals where we could play classic match scenarios and try to beat objectives
Since PES died I lost interest in playing 'soccer'. But I'd play every type of football manager. I don't care much for correct team names and details. As long as the game graphics and gameplay are great, 2k can call Arsenal "Emirate Club of London" and I'll still play them with joy. Edit: In Nigeria, we call the sport "football", but a lot of us call the video game "soccer".
Even if people have a problem with the licensing, in other game modes like MyLeague/MyNBA for example there is Community Creations where u can create or download logo's or kits ect,... created by other players. So its not that big of a deal to me tbh
I think something that 2k does with NBA that would be incredible (but almost impossible to pull off) with the next FIFA game would be having career modes you can do in the past. Like imagine you can start a career mode in like 2005, with a young Ronaldo and Messi.
Honestly, If you ask me, there's a specific charm about the. not having licensed leagues or teams. When I was in Middle School, playing PES 10, I was playing Master League and I wasn't choosing licensed teams or even choosing the top 5 leagues. I was in the PES league with all these fake teams with fake players & creating storylines & club histories. I understand people want to play as their favorite players & play for their favorite teams, but there's a distinct charm about scoring with Jerthski instead of Ronaldo or Messi
I would be nice to see other leagues. For example: Young Clubs like Barca U19/20/21 and other clubs and leagues. I really enjoy too start a career mode with young talents. Also, there are a lot of second division leagues like ‘Eerste divisie’ the Dutch second league. I think that would be a reason a lot of people will buy the game because the other companies don’t do this. To be honest, I never played a career mode with players like Kylian, Messi, and other big players it just boring.
Okay just a reminder if you played PES you’ll know that the licensing was never an issue because PES kept the option file open on console so you can download official kits, Badges and sometimes stadiums and add it to your game, 2K has always had community customisation and there files were open on offline modes so licensing again wouldn’t be an issue. 2K will always let you customise the game however you want boots, kits, apartments, badges, names literally everything. If you wanna look like dinho in 05 import appearance literally Full customisation
2K won’t need the licensing their first game out, because they will be making a World Cup game at the same time. Imagine a World Cup game with the park designed in the streets of Rio. People would kill to have that. 2k is banking on that, guarantee it. Once they can prove that people will buy it and that their game sells, then the licensing will come.
I have no problem with no licensing but to account for that they should make this game the most customizable experience ever all the way to the team brand, logo, players, sponsors, stadium from the ground up, and leagues.
MyPlayer will be like when we played in the park as kids and pretended to be our childhood football heroes lmao. I remember us making tournaments with homemade sideline commercial signs made of cardboard and inviting our parents to watch it.. haha
I really think 2k should go out and get the MLS licenses and base the career mode around that (Similar to NBA), show what they can do with a game like this and the license will come to them!
Been playing fifa since1997 on PC-ps2-ps3-ps4-PS5:-) .Before that Kick off 1-2 and then sensible soccer 2 🙂 So hope i will keep op a good game mode. But when your play fifa in all that time it have always been a nice thing to play.okey some years nothing happende with update. But still enyoing the game.still the wish for Christmas:-) Just one thing All the soft have to be the real names...Stadium...all of that. But looking forward to what to 2K can bring on the table:-).
As long as they have the teams I’m cool, cuz imma just call it the name of the leagues. League branding isn’t that important. Now club branding is. Fake clubs ruin it for me anyway. It’s why I never do Italian career mode saves due to all the fake teams. It’s also why you have to do badges and stuff on fm
Whats 2k thoughts on Modding. The Football community has some amazing modders that could easily resolve these issues. I love how back in the day I can play offline career mode on NBA2k and just boost my player to 99 overall in 10mins.
