*Thank you once again for tuning in! And THANK YOU to all those who submitted the request! I'm glad I was FINALLY able to get my hands on one of these!* -Uncle Josh, the RV Nerd
We have the 22RBE and we love the queen bed. It’s normal size so no weird sized sheets You asked if GD should go king???? I say no! I love the storage on both sides of the bed. And I’d rather keep the wardrobes the way they are.
I love the layout. I do a lot of “work camping” and the table is perfect to add an office chair and get to it. I love the large open den with the sleeping capacity and the fact you can walk through the center with no problem when both beds are out. Carpet is not a big deal. However, without the carpet, you potentially have one less item to carry that is specifically for carpet and not the solid surface flooring. Actually, one thing that might work is move the sink next to the stove. Open up the area for more prep and coffee maker, etc…. Couple of things I couldn’t tell, were there plug ins in the pantry. Was the super slide a rack and pinion? The big thing that my wife doesn’t like is the closed in feeling in the bedroom. The Reflections addressed this and on one this big, they could very easily go with the openness at the head of the bed. As always, love your vid’s and always look forward to seeing what you have.
I love the layout! they nailed it! I REALLY want them to incorporate the articulating table on other models. I work remote so having this table is a MUST!! If they can make this with a max of 30, by some magical way and reducing the guest space it would be ideal for a couple that travels and works! my 2 cents! Thanks!
Thanks Josh! Great video. Hubby and I have been looking to upgrade our current camper to something bigger for more long term camping as we are heading toward retirement. We have been researching campers and watching your videos for the past 6 months. We are looking for a camper that can accommodate our adult children when they want to join us, but is a comfortable couples camper also (no bunk house as that would be wasted space most of the time). This one ticks most of the boxes for us. LOVE the road mode accessibility. We prefer the queen bed as we don't want to lose the wardrobe and clothes storage space. This one just might be the one for us!
My wife and I were in a similar situation and traded in our bunkhouse Jayco for the 3100RD. If our adult children come along we still have plenty of sleeping space. We love this design and it is pretty unique design in a trailer. More like a 5th wheel feel.
I like this, especially love the versatility of the table! I agree that outside speakers are absolutely uneccessary. This rig is way bigger than we need but I look forward to seeing more Imagines. Being an owner of a 23LDE, I am a bit biased.
We just got two of this floorplan in stock and the one different is that ours have the lighting is a strip that goes from side to side where the roof panels seams are. It is such a clean look and gives awesome light balance.
Nice unit and good travel mode access for rest stops, quick lunches. If needed you could sleep in it as well, just everyone on the bed. If I had the money for the tow vehicle and trailer this would be a contender.
Well TY both for joining me :) Bed goblins are no joke man. I know a guy that lost a toe to those things I mean I don't know him But I'm sure it happened. Probably.
That's an RV I would definitely purchase. No camp kitchen, lots of living room space and the dinning room table that can move to seat 4... PERFECT!!! Now all I would have to do is win the lottery and buy a 1 ton truck, for redundancy, to tow it. I would grab that RV in a heartbeat...👍👍 The key though. I would have to win the lottery to be able to buy the RV and truck to tow it with..😭😭 The only thing I would change is a second A/C and would add a couple more matching dinnet chairs then it would be perfect for what I would want... I'm assuming that it's not 0 - 100 or 110 degrees rated though? 🤔
Gosh we like this rig! We absolutely only want a queen bed though, and don’t want to lose the cabinets to convert a king back to a queen. We really want to keep the walk-around space too. When at an RV show last year, we noticed that this was the model that folks gravitated towards to visit and hang out. It’s a very social design. And that table is wicked cool!! We intended to get a 3/4 ton truck, but this was a little bigger than our target. …but it’s sooooo coooool.
Wife and I liked this one. she is hooked on the front kitchen models but feels this is a contender. We would keep the Queen bed but then we actually like each other. I have never had any problem with the speakers up high I am always asking our neighbors if we are bothering them and they always say they didn't know we had them on. just wish it had a outdoor kitchen.
Love the camper and I think I’d keep the queen bed. I think anything over 30’ you should use a 3/4 ton truck. Much safer due to the weight difference in the trucks.
The year I graduated high school #1's were mostly by groups like Destiny's Child, Usher, and Shaggy I'm more of a rocker myself so it was a sad time lol :)
Yes, it's Maxell. When I was in college that was the only poster I had on my wall in my entire apartment. When I got older I had it framed and it's still hanging up in my house. :)
I think it's an AWESOME grandkid barge for sure! Most of the time it's just the two of you and you can enjoy a big spacious living area If you DO have company, then you have the perfect place to put them all
I would remove the slide out/loveseat, the kitchen table, make it a L shape counter or the length of the dual recliner, you can use it as a prep station, dining table, and a small coffee/appliance bar 😮😅
Man, this one is really turning my head Josh. I've been so focused on the 2887MB...not much has been able to compete. This one is definitely in the ball park. Many options for working from the road.
Well Josh, you gave us a LOT Of information to chew on. Here is my 2cents for you: 1-No carpet, period. 2-Those plugs above the stove counter, terrible position. How about a pop up plug. Not needed, push it down. Needed, push up. Simple. 3-This has great camp side windows. Great job. 4-Folding chairs are better than stools. Hurts your back. 5-A tile backsplash is a simple solution for the factory to add. 6-Shades in the door? 7-My opinion about the sliding under bed tray, a 2nd would be better. 8-King bed!!!! With our service dog, it works better but not a deal breaker. 9-An option they can offer is to use that 2nd closest/drawers for W/D prep. Like you said, if the buyer wants to leave it on property, they are NOT going to want to haul laundry back and forth. 10-Generator prep would be great here in Arizona where a lot of camping is done out in the desert for dry camping. If prep can’t be done, an option to install a rack on the back where a generator can be mounted. 11-As I said in #10, here we need MORE solar. 12-Lastly, move speakers DOWN. In campsites where they are close together, softer music is a must outside. Great rig. Company has hit a home run!!!!
"Is it live or is it MEMOREX?" LOL. This one is very nice and has a lot to offer. My two cents: no carpet ever anywhere and make the flooring match throughout always, full size queen is great all that extra room is wasted space. I married him because I like him, not trying to run away from him! 😂 One thing I can't make up with are the two tone upper cabinets and those pulls. For some reason it screams the 60's to me. Love the multi use dining table. Still not a fan of the open (bathroom) storage but they really utilized the space very well outside of that. Thanks for another great tour Josh!
Take out the carpet and sofa. Me since I have pet Parakeets. Add Solar or upgrade solar. 12DCV frig and speakers outside down low, other than that. I like it.
Thanks for the another great video! This would be an awesome trailer for a televator with an opening window behind it. I couldn't tell if there would have been room for one with the slides, though. Love the road mode on this one!
Go King Slide out, Believe the front closet/storage closet is a much better idea for us people that toss and turn at night. Oh and get rid of the carpet on the slide.
Man, that's a good-looking trailer. I'm ok with carpet in the slide there by the sofa. I just don't want it in the dinette or in the kitchen. Honestly, I'd like carpet in the master bedroom.
It’s a great floorplan especially if your a couple or have teens who can happily sleep on the pullouts No problem. Obviously squeezed for dining space but I do like how they used what they have. My big beef is the kitchen slide that will have you stunning your toes or leaning over to cook neither of which will be fun. Why not just move the kitchen out a couple inches to be closer to the edge of the slide and prevent that problem? I would not want a King Bed option given what it would cost you in the redesign up front. Your also 100% spot on that this is NOT a half ton trailer no matter what the spec of that half ton. Looking forward to seeing you get the rest of the GD lineup in your library. Cough cough cough 2800BH cough cough. I’d also love to see a Solitude 390RK with the outside kitchen option.
Think I would install an L-Bar Counter in the Dining and make it so it can Fold Down flat against the walls..... instead of a Table and 2 chairs....other than that.... all good in my book.
I know you are very anti-carpet😄 but I llike a little carpet, it makes it look homey. We have carpet under our pull out sofa and I like that it stops things from rolling around when we store things under there.
About the only time I'd try it is if we had something like a local seasonal site and I was just getting it there for the year on local roads... and only if I had a more capable half ton
I wish all manufactures would get rid of the front bed windows. Just seems like it is a chance for unneeded repairs due to rocks or whatever. The heat/cool loss is also a good point.
I saw this fooor plan a few years ago in a hideout and loved it. Embarrassed to say I’m not sure how long GD has been doing it but nonetheless happy to see them doing it. I love the GD table as that’s a first for me. I will say the second AC should be standard in a rig that big in my opinion. I think that it adds resale value as I think a lot more people can use the second AC than can’t. Another great video josh, thank you. And yeah get the carpet out of there.
Frankly every company copies every company. GD was hailed for their originality in models like the 2800BH and 2600RB but the fact is those designs date back to the launch of the Palomino Sabre trailers that most people forgot even existed And I bet if I go back far enough Fleetwood did something like it first. Fleetwood RV is like the bach and mozart of the RV industry. We owe so much to them but modern musicians rarely acknowledge it
You are right about the 5th living in a TT. This think is as long as my GD 337RLS , but weighs considerably less. I love the kitchen/living room layout. Wish we had that table in our 337. I think I would dump the left hand sofa and put something else there. Not sure what though. The showers in TT's are almost a deal breaker, because of the step up required, for us older folks with bad knees and stability issues. The fact that the bed is so far forward with respect to the cabinets it would make it hard to make. I have to pull our mattress back in our 337 to make it, but we have a lot more space at the rear because of the east/ west configuration. We mostly snowbird travel now and this might be doable for 3 or 4 months at a time in warm weather areas.
You’re right Re the sheet-changing! We went with Quick Zip sheets and couldn’t be happier. Not sponsored - just love that they save my back. And they’re high quality sheets too.
I’ve owned this model for 2 years love it. Tows great with a 2500. I wouldn’t recommend a 1500 with the weight and length of this one. King bed isn’t needed.
Glad to hear from somebody who owns one. We take delivery of this trailer this coming weekend and i was curious as to how a 3/4 Ton handles the trailer. Can’t wait to get it out👍
The swivel dining table isn't a new idea but it's a touch of genius used here. It makes great use of what initially seemed to be an awkward area of wasted space. Overall, this is very nice model trailer - both the LR & BR look super spacious & very comfortable to enjoy! :)
Son in Law, underrated movie there. Great floorplan, not something i could do with my situation but for a single/couple it would work. Could have family or friends over without having everyone in standing room over.
Great, looking rig… I would like to see obviously, the removal of all carpet… Remove the kitchen dinette, seating area, replace it with cabinets with countertop Make the cabinet a little more narrow than normal base cabinets, but it would give a little extra space for the kitchen for prep, or a place for you to lay your food out for guest Add some type of lagoon type of table that you can attach or detach from the seats in the living room area
They went lighter on their color tones for 2023. I actually prefer the darker tones I have in my 2022. Otherwise -we're a couple camping trips in already and we're super impressed with the quality and features of our Grand Design.
I like this layout. One thing to keep in mind is the buttons on the theater seats. You need to buy covers for them. Otherwise, you get up to get something and when you come back, your seat is vibrating and the heat is on! Happens a lot. Also, you cannot flip the video like you did in the beginning where the door is on the drivers side of the enigamI trailer! We love our XLS 23LDE. And no to king bed and lose the carpet please.
What would you think about moving the stove and countertop forward and the fridge next to the pantry. For me it creates a better kitchen flow having the stovetop, and shrink closer. Also add a privacy curtain to close off the living area. So when you have guests sleeping over they'll have a little bit of privacy.
I like the queen bed and storage. I think it would be nice to do counter height area along the back of the recliners rather than the table, using some nice stools that slide underneath. That would give extra counter prep space and functional seating without taking up a lot of space, and maybe with some nice outlets on the top of the barrier wall. Is there a reason they don’t place the stove and counter closer to the front edge of the slide so you don’t hit your feet on them? I figured maybe it’s not good for the slide mechanism? Anyways, nice looking RV.
I'm not sure why some brands slide the stove and stuff back and some bring it forward. I think sometimes brand managers are afraid the walkway area will look and feel tighter
I seen where the roof was, well mainly roof. Can you install solar throughout the entire roof to help make it off grid and helping to make it the perfect bug out vehicle for when SHTF?
This model should come with a separate cooktop and a good size oven. This oven is only good for pigeons. Also include a microwave/convection oven option. If you add a front ac, will it be ducted? Carpet, I don’t care. No king for me. My Queen is enough for me!! 😂
There SHOULD have been a window next to the twin love seat in the livingroom! The shower SHOULD have a square tub!! But, I like this Imagine Uncle Josh!
Great floor plan, I would use the kitchen table for my computer and TV trays to eat on. I just need to upgrade my 1/2 ton Always appreciate you showing road mode! #nerdherd
This is one of my favorite grand design floorplans however, I do wish it would have an outside kitchen. I would gladly sacrifice that table for an L shaped bar style table if it meant I could have an outdoor mini fridge with maybe a tad bit easier access for the propane quick connect. Not too fond of the euro style cabinetry but it's tolerable.
Sounds like Jayco needs to adopt this RV: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mXZGYL3Fy5k.html into a travel trailer in their Eagle HT series or something
It's like the TT version of the 341 5er. The location of the sink is the one thing I am unsure about. Would almost rather than the pantry and sink swapped, with maybe a divider wall only next to the sofa, just to get the stove, prep space and stove near each other.
Need a king option and bedroom slide. Also the pull out couch’s are horrible both have a rod that pokes into your side. Needs more outside storage and the AC should come standard with RVairflow. Also needs a place to hang a tv outside. I own one that’s why I can say this. Also most owners of this camper wants the dinner table foldable. On the front storage you need to fill it up as much as possible because this trailer is very tail heavy.
@@JoshtheRVNerd yes they nailed it with this one. We looked at the rockwood version of this and that was a great product as well. We went with the 3100 rd because of price like $20,000 different and that was before the price jump in July of 21.
