2010 marked the 50th anniversary of Dr. Louis Leakey sending Jane Goodall to Gombe Stream in Tanzania to begin her groundbreaking study of chimpanzees in the wild. In this lecture, Leakey Foundation grantee Anne Pusey reviews how the Gombe study has revealed the basic structure of chimpanzee society, the nature of social relationships within and between the sexes, life history patterns, and how these resemble and differ from those of humans.

People don't care much about stuff like that in a sense them being just "apes" - but consider this. Imagine humanity, at the turning point of history, gets obliterated by a bunch of mouthbreathers calling themselves superior on this planet for the sake of solving a self-made resource management problem.

She speaks about humans being derived from the other apes as if humans aren’t apes. Of course, in fact, we Are. It’s reasons such as this that people are confused about this topic.

The first thing she says is that humans 'fall right into the ape family tree,' so no, she doesn't imply that humans aren't apes.

Yeah he has like a 99.9999% species failure rate since the Hadean eon so not the best job performance as a life creator. It’s like he just threw 4 amino acids together 4 billion years ago and went bowling or something.

This women is very unsecure talker...She is not sure what she is gonna say next Her voice vibrating and hasitating is pretty bad for the whole presentation... It sounds much less professional and less compeling to deeply focus,follow,listen and learn all that information...She should have prepared beter for this...But even so,it`s good to see all this and listen to interesting history

I'm sure she was trying her best, maybe she has something that makes it challenging to speak, maybe she was just nervous. Honestly, I've barely noticed anything that wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Humans aren't robots. Let's be kind and gentle with one another
