Parisian Musk by Matière première is probably my favorite fig fragrance at the moment. I know everyone likes to return to Olivia Giacobetti cult classic work of premier figuee or Philosykos. But they are very quiet on my skin. I grew up along the Mediterranean coast, at the interface the sea and the desert, and my family house was near a Fig Orchard. Those particular fig are ready to be picked around May. Picking the fruit will leave this white fig tree sap the fig milk. And when the air brushes through the picked branches I get that one particular smell.Matiere Premier Parisian Musk is the best interpretation of that smell . Great video Sebastian !
Fig is such a unique and interesting note to wear. I have been enjoying Daniel Josier’s Under the Figtree lately: it is a fruity-wood scent that is so easy to wear and really does capture the essence of a fig tree.
My mom makes fig preserves and uses Kool-aid to make it a sweet strawberry taste. I grew up loving figs, black berries, pears, huckleberries, and muscadines. Cause they were all in our yards.
The name of the first is rather intriguing and enigmatic: "I was approaching a mystery". Not "I approached" but "was approaching." Like the beginning of a story that draws you in: "Yes, you were approaching a mystery, a-a-and...?"
Not Fig, but two nice Guava fragrances are Delta of Venus by Eris parfums, and Corsica Furiosa by Parfum d'Empire. Delta being more of the fruit and Corsica being more green and clean.
The milk is where latex comes from, so...is latex, thats why fig trees branches are so flexible. Is sticky and also itchy on the skin, careful esting it, is toxic. I have a fig tree in my backyard in Spain, to me the smell reminds me of summer, with the tree full of figs and the whole smell of the tree.
I managed to get a sample of Fig Exstacy based on your last fig review and that one was a bit disappointing (at least to my nose). I would highly recommend Fico Di Amalfi by Acqua di Parma.
Korres Avgoustos is a fig cheapie with a wonderful green refreshing opening. Reminds me of Balade Sauvage but more top heavy and unfortunately not long lasting. But for the price you can spray away all day ❤️
@ThePerfumeGuy I made my previous comment on the wrong account. Anyway, I highly recommend trying La Botica - Casablanca. It is similar to DS&Durga Debaser and Philosykos-adjacent, but imo it is better than both of those. Cleaner, the green is a more crisp. Similar exquisite fruit.
Perfect timing, today I'm wearing Woody Fig by Samuel Gravan. I own several of these, but I think I might like Hydra Figue. I've been wanting to purchase FLORIS MULBERRY FIG since last year, but can't justify the price or shipping cost to pull the trigger. Thanks for the content!
I never had fig on my radar but now I’m really loving it. I always thought of figs as only to be eaten. I was missing out but now I’m team fig. Une Fig is amazing. I will be stalking the pistachio.
I loved the fig/mulberry opening of the Floris but my memory is it didn't last long and then we got the ubiquitous woody (was it Iso E Super?) dry down. Molinard Figue also had such a dry down but overall I felt handled it better
Thank you for reminding me I have a sample of Panouage Patchouli Figue. I must get my full bottle finally, it is indeed amazing and lasts so long!! 😍👍😁 Xx
