Thank you. My tree is just a fun project. Bottom espalier part was originally shaped like a heart. Main goal is to observe top growth. Espalier in figs can be very productive, in the east, that is the preferred form.

Thank you for asking. I will make a video about white bags function. They provide many benefits, currently they preserve water evaporation when hot. if to rainy, by closing them they prevent excessive water saturation of soil media, and finally lower media temperature.

Thank you for commenting, you are correct ( just confirmed by looking at some pics from Ourfigs ). I got this tree in 2018 from Telly's, reputable local nursery with a label that has a nice short story about Thomas Jefferson and his favorite fig variety, WM. I did read some thread on Ourfigs about BM fmv free from pro fig that I have ( which turned out to be Tena), but not carefully enough, and assumed that this two are synonyms. Tomorrow I will change name on the label to Tena, and correct staff at Telly's, if they still have it. Thanks again!

To my taste buds, CdD Blanc has more unique flavor, almost intriguing as is different than many other varieties. Thick pulp texture, intense berry flavor. But it is later ripening, so without head start would bee more challenging to grow to perfection. Adriatic JH is also very good with nice balance of sweetness and acidity. It is also earlier. To me, they are different enough to justify growing both. This year I will have a better picture of adriatic types, having more varieties to compare.

@@backyardfigs Seems like you preferred SV over AJH at 28:40. (I have both, but will plan on adding CdD Blanc too.)

@@paulm965 SV was better ripened today. I will make testing review comparison with both being perfectly ripe.

I’m just curious about the white plastic bags you have on some of your trees. How does water drain out? You have a beautiful collection and I enjoy watching your videos. I love how you treat each tree as an art piece that you sculpture to the look that you want. Your love for your trees is apparent.

Main orchard, with watering can (collected rain water), other area with hose, filtered tap. I do find that my best results are achieved with manual watering, because of my setting. I will make video explaining the reasons why. Thanks for asking.

I have two 275 gal totes connected. IDon't recall last time running out of rain water.​ it's been quite wet last couple of seasons. Having rain almost every other day, I wish that I was in Phoenix lol. @epigeneticnerd4244
