My reviews are not influenced by any company or individual other then my own opinion. I will never review a game I was paid to check out however I do receive review copies of many games I review and always include in the description if I did receive it as a review copy. My scale is 0 - 10 for a game to get a 10 it must be a once in a generation style of game those that change gaming or have a major impact for years to come. I use the score of 5 to showcase a game that is average in everything that it does. It doesn't mean the game is bad its just usually one of those very forgettable games. In order for a game to get a 1 or 0 it has to be really truly awful filled with bugs and glitches, super short, way too overpriced, horrible controls, etc.

Hey everyone the gameplay was pretty fun in this one combine that with the presentation multiple paths and endings makes this one a beat em up I think a lot will enjoy. I won't blame you if you wait for a sale though on it.

I've been playing this on PC since it came out, and bought it again for Switch. Easily one of the best modern beat 'em ups I've played, if not THE best. Great move variety and enemy variety, and great controls, visuals, and music. Also, and this is important, you start the game with all of your moves and you don't level up as you go. This means starting from the beginning for a fresh playthrough isn't boring because you don't have to UNLOCK basic moves like your jump kick (looking at you, Scott Pilgrim), and you are rewarded for playing well (your skill increases, not your level...yes, good beat 'em ups reward skill). For me, this is a 9/10.

Working on the platinum trophy and I gotta say: 20€ was worthy. Full of new endings, stages, characters to unlock. But an 8 is a great score for this game :)

1:55 Again, that's not a downside, that's an UPSIDE. As long as the price matches, shorter games are far more appealing.

It's only short because it isn't story heavy, if it was then there'd be 5 minutes of fighting and an hour of dialogue and cutscenes, personally I think it gives just enough dialogue to like the characters and still let you enjoy the gameplay

This looks really fun and 8 levels / 1 hour seems perfect before repetition sets in. $20 though is pretty steep. This would be perfect if the price was halved.

Thanks for the review and info about the skyline mode. Would be brilliant if you could showcase that for couple of sec as well as play it for the moment with sound effect on. That would showcase the game even better. Great job!

I bought it day 1 and one BIG problem not addressed is one player is not fun. You get mobbed and outnumbered by double the amount of enemies in normal beat em ups. Right from the 1st level you'll be overwhelmed and you don't level up like other recent beat em ups. The shop stuff/unlocks are costumes and not special skills, which I found useless. I'd want something to help me not cosmetic otherwise I don't care to use the shop. See Scott Pilgrim and SoR2 for better beat em ups. I respect your review still as people have different opinions..just wanted to mention this for variety in case people are on the fence ☺

I disagree about 1 player I had no problem beating the game twice by myself with different characters. Its far from being that difficult especially with unlimited continues. Its not a push over but once I learned the controls especially throwing/slamming enemies into one another to take out bunches and maximizing my special moves I was breezing through areas. Of course you are free to dislike the game but not sure you gave it a full shake. Also I think powerups like leveling up would make the game too easy unless their was a limit to continues added.

I disagree. I hate the unlocks too. The game is great but asking to beat Hardest without Continues for a costume? Are they out of their mind? I ended up downloading a completed save from the PC version because I got no time for a rage inducing swearfest just to unlock a costume. I got a Disability, and it's impossible for me

The Pc version also supports high refresh rate monitors and now that steam winter sale is few days away i can't recommend to whoever is interested in beat'em ups the pc version of fight'n rage enough

great review, watching the footage at times I lost sight of your character (the girl) in the thick of the action, is this a problem while playing? I did not notice this when playing River City girls, I will still buy this but might wait for a sale as i have quite a few games waiting to play on my ps4 pro.

My first beat em up type game was double dragon and force fighters(or fighting force, not sure on title) but games like Scott pilgrim were way more fun

Here are my thoughts. This game is 3 of 5 stars. It's an excellent game, but I had massive trouble with the Training mode. some of the inputs either do not go through, such as Bounce on Enemies, or they did but I either sent the enemy flying or I went in the wrong direction and failed. I hated the fact that you had to do all that in 60 seconds. That's crazy. Then there's the fact that if you play with CPU Assistance or 2 players, you get locked out of getting costumes that require you to beat Hard mode for example, on "Single player". So for me, with my Disability, that's a thing I'll never be able to attain and I absolutely hate it because I beat Streets of Rage 4 and Platinumed that game without too much issue, mostly because of the fact that it has online multiplayer, and the unlocks weren't locked behind overly difficult challenges like "Beat the game without Continues" and "Get an S rank on X mode". Im sure I'll get there with practice but it feels like a "git gud or gtfo" set up. But again, the game, just playing it without worrying about unlocks? Excellent, 100%ing it? Not even a chance for the casual player.

I'm still waiting on my review code for this game. :( It looks sooooo fun to play! Sucks it doesn't have an online mode but makes up for that shortcoming with some awesome unlockables you don't have to pay through micro-transactions. I'll keep my eyes peeled on this one. :D

got it on pc ages ago, just waiting a discount for the switch .... but forget this game, the real game to buy is THE TAKE OVER....that game is a beast and i won't buy the pc version , waiting for the switch version to show up....THAT GAME IS PURE SOR2 , to a point of blasphemy...and i think it will be much better than the crap that SOR4 is gonna be when released....

i have this game on steam - it's a very well made beat em up but it gets old fast despite the branching paths and various modes, and how the females are displayed is just ridiculous. i thought we were past this stuff tbh

I hope devs and fans will never go "past that". This is a nostalgia trip. I'm not interested in flat chested female fighters like in MK11 and other SJW symptoms what so ever.
