In the first episode of Fighter Roots, I sit with UFC Champion Max "Blessed" Holloway as we talk about ways to overcome whatever life throws your way. #UFC240 #MaxHolloway
@@tyronwoodley296 when max said he wanted the "white picket fence story" i could see your blood boil. You were thinking "you muthafuckin racist, why a white fence and not a black muthafuckin fence"
It's nice to see this side of fighters especially champions. I know you're injured Woodley but I really believe you can get your title back. Props to Usman but I don't think you gave it your best in that fight and I truly believe you're the greatest Welterweight champion behind GSP.
Shawn Wonderlie yh not like GSP was older than him either, Tyron and George are the same age no GSP Too old BS. Honestly the UFC gives 0-1 title defence champs rematches sometimes, but not 4? What is that?
@@420Logic if Tyron woodley hadn't been pieced up by GSP's protege maybe they would've fought. Can't blame GSP for tyron not cutting it while GSP was in the welterweight division
UFC should be doing more with this. Especially with guys like Max, who are already big stars, but it could break them into the mainstream. Now on ESPN, the random guy could be going through the channels, and he sees this, he's going to want to watch Max fight.
Seriously, absolutely genius idea on the part of Woodley. This is the kind of stuff I'm looking for, the human side of fighters. Who they are and how they came to be, well, what they are. Great stuff.
The “white belt” mentality of max is simply amazing. Hands down one of the greatest human being ever stepped in the cage. So much respect for both of them. Animals in the octagon, clever and cool dudes outside. God bless you guys.
Since fighter's are already comfortable talking to you as you're one of them, you're able to get the type of conversations out of them we don't see normally on the likes of MMAHour/Ariel Helwani Show etc. I really like the concept of this Tyron, keep it up!
Hawaii ain’t paradise, but we make it how we live it. This is why Max and all fighters from Hawaii truly represent that warrior spirit we have in every single Kanaka of Hawaii Nei.
I think the combination of having this conversation where Max grew up, you being a fighter yourself and maybe also the friendship you and Max already shared made this feel just like a conversation between two good friends. Max getting hyped up when talking. That's the passion and authenticity we want to see, and that sometimes gets lost when there is a journalist who's asking the questions, when the interview is being done on "skype" or when you're doing media for the 1000th time for the ufc. I hope to see you back in the octagon soon, brother!
Big ups to both gentleman, sick idea T Wood, you’re the perfect guy to do this. Also, Max is such a savage, I come from an area plagued by meth and crack and it ruins lives and ruins families. Max is “ blessed” for sure, with giant balls and an iron will! Love this content, thanks guys!
This is what will be looked at in years to come! Such a simple yet powerful idea. I’m hoping you’re filming more of these as I’m here writing this!! Much respect 👊🏻💯👌🏼
Yeah just commenting after you to further encourage this project/series. This WILL age well. With Woodley’s connections there’s no ceiling for these videos
None of the analysts mentioning the Chosen One. They sleep. My boy had a bad night against Usman, now all of a sudden counting him out and shit. Wait til he come back and wake everybody up. #TrueKingOfTheWelterweights
He didn't have a bad night, Usman is just an underrated fighter. By saying Woodley had a bad night you are not giving credit to Usman for the hard work he put in to win that fight.
Also had a ‘bad day’ against Wonderboy......but hey, it happens! Still enjoying his fights and content.....I like his personality beter than his fightingstyle. Wish em all the best tho!
What a legend. Max has class, Total savage in the octagon and such a genuine good and nice guy... look what he made of his life after his youth. Much respect for him. Great video Tyron! Please more of this man!
Same story as Max growin up. I remember around 9 years old praying to god and telling myself I’d start going to church if he’d bring my mom home. My mom would also be in and out all the time on drugs and I remember one time she was missin for a month and I thought she died. I’m also from the same place as Max and this story is way to common here in Waianae but you know what, it builds character and makes you appreciate everything you have 💯
Great content, T-Wood! Appreciate Max opening up and being vulnerable with his story. Looking forward to you making more content like this, very well produced.
Real deal.... two champs sharing stories, planting seeds.... I love what you said champ, people only see 25 minutes of you.... hard work, blood sweat and tears left at the camp.....
Better than I thought it was going to be, no disrespect champ, you’re one of the few fighters that can tell a story and relate different parts from different worlds to let us all know that our struggles are similar even if they are not the same , keep up the grind and rest up , the ufc misses you
You can tell max fucks with Woodley by his vibe. He's way more comfortable here than when he does media. Cool to see this side of fighters, nice touch with having actual pictures from his childhood. Great video Woodley keep it up.
Love it t-wood!! You motivate me to get in that gym and train everyday from seeing all the hard work you put in over the years and continue to put in!! Hope to see you back in the octagon soon, I’ll be cheering louder than ever!!
Damn I just found this, I’m so impressed by the production quality, with the drone shots etc. good to see Tyron killing it until he is ready to get back in the mix
Good on ya Tyron !!! ♥️ My opinion this the coolest show Tyrons doing . Sharp idea and makes for good entertainment. Great work, legendary athlete who's gonna get us that Welter weight title back ! Love from Canada Tyron. Rode with you since Strike Force days. True champ.
Great job T-Wood, this is a lot better than the average interview, Max opened up with you cause of the mutual fighter’s respect. Please keep it coming. Always a fan T-Wood, you keep it real 24/7 champ.
My boy TWoodley back with some amazing content. You should vlog your days at the gym or training not only when youre in camp because your content motivates/inspires us!
Now this is what i need in my life! please do more tyron! any personal insight to a fighters childhood is a must watch and this is brilliantly produced and tyron done a great job
Tyron!! Thanks for doing this with max. Nuff respect from London bro. Big up to both of you champs. Belt or no belt. Win or no win. You both are champs in your own rights. Peace !!
This is a really great idea for getting a real insight into the fighters beginnings and perspective of the sport and life. The questions and dialogue exchange is way more in depth and meaningful coming from two great fighters, it's way better than just a regular reporter asking the same questions everyone already asks them. Can't wait to see more, awesome work.
Wow hope you keep doing this T Wood this really shows a whole new level of what you guys do. Heal up can't wait to see the champ back to get what's his 💪👊
Tyron's genuine interest, is displayed here with with great listening and w/o interrupting Max. Two of the greats, showcasing their depth and humbleness as people and giving us perspective beyond the cage. Amazing inspiration. Legends, straight up.
I like that Twood, im a white dude and my dad was a abusive alcoholic/drug addict. I like my beer but keep it in check, my son is 4 yrs old and Im here for him no matter the situation. Hes got a slight form of autism and somedays are challenging but I want him to know that his dad and mom was always here and for him to realize life is what you make it! Love the work your doing brother, Get that belt back your a real champ!!!!!!
This was an amazing interview champ.... it felt very personal and was a stark reminder of how much we all have in common to figures that seem larger than life at times.... Max has always felt like one of the most humble and relatable champs to me, but never has he seemed more human than in this video... and respect to you as well Woodley, most figures with your level of recognition and accomplishment seem to struggle making content where they aren’t the center of attention and always will butt in with their own stories or joke about the topic, or at the very least would’ve edited this video putting a strong focus on how great the questions were how amazing they are at asking them trying to keep some of the spotlight on them.... this interview was in a location that would make Max as comfortable and loose as was possible and edited intentionally to keep the maximum amount of focus on him as well... I think that speaks volumes towards your character as well man.... my respect and prayers of blessing and success go out to you both.. and to all those who’ve been grinding away, working and struggling to earn what they have....
