I know it's really hard to appreciate the scenery when your entire focus is on the fight but trust me, 15 years from now your kids won't be telling stories about broken generators and missed rentals (well they might since it's on video :)) but they will talk about the time they went to the tree and the bees were so loud they thought it was a drone, and remember that summer when we spent building this place with our own two hands. Love you guys and hope you take a minute to breath, say a prayer or two, and enjoy what you have.

Have been watching you guys for years and saw how you managed to pull through the absolute most horrific things that would have sent me running back to civilization. Can we all just admit how awesome the cinematography is on this show?
@revdupartist9386
@revdupartist9386 8 месяцев назад
'Admit'? It's not that folks are refusing to say it. I think the better word would be 'agree'. or perhaps 'acknowledge'. I'm guessing that most folks simply don't pay specific attention to that....they just know they like the videos. They will comment on being glad there is a lot of family stuff included now, but they don't understand it's a lot more than just throwing in some more footage of the kids. Kenz's Production values, which includes cinematography, direction, & editing (among others) have really grown over the years as she's been doing this. She has been willing to try new things (and Spenser has gone along with them) to see if they work and if she likes them. If she thinks they work, she expands on them, if not...next.... Her ability to match just the right music with specific scenes is amazing. That's one of those things that most don't consciously don't hone in on, but it's part of the whole experience I feel the most important aspect of all of them, is her ability for Story Telling. That's a talent that most people really don't have. Kenz does. it's because she has this ability, she uses everything else to weave together the picture of a beautiful & heartwarming family. Her's . (Kenz I hope you read this.😉)

With coyotes around, always be alert to where your domestic dogs are. When lived in CO. the local coyotes figured out they can use a female coyote in heat to lure male dogs away. Once far enough away, the pack would attack and kill them to eat, even very large dogs too. Several people lost their pets and still do.

They look to be orchard varieties, it doesn't;t take long for non-fruiting trees to take up residence. We see it a lot in the UK and Ireland, where old properties are taken over by nature but the fruit trees are so hardy they carry on even though crowded. I think it's perhaps because the soil is so fertile.

The coyotes can be a real problem as well. Sometimes they will team up to take out a single large livestock dog if the livestock dog isn't smart enough to understand their trap.

Homestead and Farmer Pro Tip: Keep a small roll of heavy gauge electric fence wire in your "toolbox" always. It's the "MacGyver" for everything. We use it when keeper pins are lost. Keeps us rolling on construction vehicles, trackhoes, dozers, tractors, etc.

I did some research on the property that my parents build their home on, and it had been farmland going way back before the Civil War in the United States! Before that, of course, it was Indian territory! But lots of fruit trees, lots of nut trees, pecans, walnuts, etc. and then my dad, of course was raised on a farm and so was my mom so they planted every type of fruit that would grow in the region And every other type of knot that will grow in the region and we also had grapes. My dad made wine and he had a full garden. We raised our own asparagus, tomatoes, potatoes. He kept the apples and potatoes in crates filled with sand in the basement we were the only house with a basement, but of course, being raised on a farm, and both my parents how to store food through the winner! It would be interesting because now a lot of this information is available online for you to research the ownership of that property, and what was there prior to your moving there! Lots of times, you can find documents that you can copy, and you could frame them and have them in your home of the previous history of that land! I hate for our history, especially of the peoples that populated the territory to be lost! I found out that my great grandfather was a twin, and that he and his brother both received the highest honors from the confederacy during the Civil War! They fought in every major battle in Virginia! The sadness was that my great grandfather’s😂 twin was left, injured and ill after the Civil War so he never married. They had both been very young men during the war so he never married, and he never had children so there was no one to really remember him I mean, I didn’t know about it, so I contacted the sons of the confederacy organization here in Virginia and was able to get his military record and also images of him and I posted them on ancestry.com for future generations to be able to know his history, and even where he was buried a picture of the gravesite! I received a lot of comments from distant relatives all over the country thanking me for doing that, but they didn’t know about him either! Some other family members that I found pictures and pictures of the gravesite I posted and had people contacting me thanking me because they had heard a lot about their family member, but they didn’t know their history and they didn’t know what they look like! It’s great fun doing that after my parents died I spent my time digging into the research on both sides of the family my dad was from Slovakia area at that time it was called Czechoslovakia that the church is kept great. Records and I was able to trace his family way back to find out that they had actually come to that region from Greece where I believe during the 1400s they escape Greece win the Muslims were invading Greece and murdering the population! I now understand today why Slovakia will not allow any Muslim into their country not a single one. They are maintaining their Christian heritage, and they are only allowing Christians to enter the country as new citizens! When you dig into history, you find out a lot! I know you’re both busy, but if you do have time, it would be fine for you to track the history of the location that you have purchased. I’m sure there are records available for you to find that information! Anyway, U2 are the hardest working people in the world I think.

I’m sitting here asking Spenser where’s the gravel as he drops the culverts in. I’m a fan of Chris of letsdig18 and he always dumps gravel under and over the culvert. Hopefully, when the heavy traffic its the spots, the culverts will withstand the weight test. Fingers crossed…

Great videos. One suggestion after watching Ambition strikes ,good simple living,pure living for life would be any thought about having a contractor build a pole barn on property so when winter comes the trailer can be put inside and other equipment put inside so heating trailer would be less problems and would be sheltered from elements. Also some type of larger propane tank. On ambition strikes they built pole barn and put camper inside while building a apartment in barn. Anyway just be patient and if stress gets too bad just take a mini vacation. Your relationship is more important than anything else. Again keep moving forward and it will get done!!!!
