Action figure review of the Figma Alien Big Chap. Aliens Xenomorph Compared with Mafex & Neca Big Chap. Detailed look at accessories, height, & articulation.
@@EvtheNev I feel like the reduced price is generally comparable to other 6" (approximate same size/scale) offerings by SHF (and/or Mafex) and with comparable or better quality IMO. Accessories are pretty much comparable to most SHF & some Mafex offerings. After watching several reviews of this guy & the Mafex I think I'm gonna pick this guy up as prolly the coolest looking Big Chap & Face Hugger I've seen & I'm good with the scale as should work decent with my collection which is primarily 6" figs. I was really looking forward to the Mafex as was expecting that would be the one I'd pick up but this guy looks way better IMO & Mafex overall was a disappointment IMO. You may be right about further discounts in future as the scale may not be popular with fans of or that are used to the NECA Alien line scale & prefer the availability of other Alien films related figs.
The sculpt & paint job (colors mix) on this guy look very cool IMO & appears to be higher quality than the Mafex & NECA versions (at least from looks in the video). Didn't initially notice how those Mafex knee joints sorta standout (& not in a good way) until seeing the comparisons here. No bendy wire in tail is a fail although the tail does have 2 or 3 separate peg joints where you can detach or twist around for different posing fyi. Accessories on the light side with no chestburster which is lame. The facehugger appears to have the most detail (& I prefer the inside color better as) compared to the others but no bendy wire tail is another fail & not as cool as the Mafex wrap around the head posing feature IMO. I guess if you ignore the Alien actual size/scale in the movie & just want an Alien fig. to be about the same size as other 1:12 scale figs then this looks like the guy to get. Which is your favorite between the Figma, Mafex & (upcoming) NECA Big Chap figs. (ignoring the fact that most of your collection is NECA)? Thanks for the review.
@@dHuntersReviews 40th Anniv. NECA Big Chap looks pretty great from what I've seen & comes with improved accessories more accurate to the movie & for around $27 or so that's a pretty great value, especially when compared to prices for the Figma & Mafex.
@@dHuntersReviewsThe ad description (on BBTS) for the 40th Anniv. Big Chap says it's an entirely new sculpt so just an fyi if you might not be aware of.
