This is a simple method you can use to figure out triads quickly. All you have to remember is that a minor third is 3 semitones, and a major third is 4 semitones. Then if you want a major chord, just apply a major third followed by a minor third 4 - 3 from the root note, and that builds a major triad. If you want a minor triad, start at the root note, and apply a minor third followed by a major third 3 - 4 and that will build you a minor chord. If you want a diminished triad, do a minor third followed by another minor third, that makes a diminished triad. And finally if you want an augmented chord all you have to do is bring the fifth up by 1. So you can either do a major third, followed by another major third 4 - 4, or you can do a major chord which is a major third followed by a minor third 4 - 3 and simply raise the last note up by one semitone. That will yield an augmented triad. I hope this simplifies it for ya'll.
