Not related to this mp3 player but does anyone know what DAC Sony uses in their mp3 players? Are they in house. All these other Dacs/mp3 always give the brand name of the chip they use.

The 256GB card has over 17k songs on it, and no lags at all. If you used iPod Classic before, kinda similar experience.

I've been using iPod Nano and the Touch 3rd gen as my daily audio players, they have great portability and really really convenient music library syncing and tag editing. I'm glad I ordered the M3 Pro as it's going to be my first Hi Res audio player, really curious how it's going to blow the Pods away regarding to sound. Thanks for the quick review!

good night moon as a matter of fact, I've already been using my M3 Pro for 2 days now, while my iPods are now in storage hehe I guess i prioritize usability more now than sound (since i didnt find any distinct difference between the sound qualities). But the plus is that the M3 Pro can play FLAC and that is a sign of good sound quality am i right? Also what I've noticed is that one pair of earbuds sound better on the M3 Pro than on the iPod.

@@LloydZyanRUy I mean I feel it’s more for the convenience did a portable dedicated music player than anything else. But if that’s the case there are cheaper high quality MP3 players that don’t have the hi res guys that transmit Bluetooth or there’s an iPod touch

a good dap/player should present the sound as is. it's up to your iem/headphone/equalizer to boost your bass.

I do believe M5 is the cheapest one. Also way smaller than the M7, so fits better for cycling.

Hi, it is also depends on what DAC you got in your phone. Hi-end phones usually have similar good DAC modules as in this music player.

This is pretty bad. Idk if it's just me or the touch screen is messed up, and the letter-scrolling system is extremely weird and awkward to use. Spending money around 100 dollars for this is 100% not worth it, just buy the previous version instead.

No its purely for local audio on an SD card. It is designed for high res audio, while spotify is low quality source. A deivce like this can shine if you use lossless audio such as FLAC and WAV files. Pretty sure the device has no internet either it is purely there to playback music in high quality.

Tbh, if you wanna go budget, don't be greedy lol. Also most who buy these still got wired stuff (I have some budget wired IEMs). I have this coming in the mail right now BECAUSE it doesn't have bluetooth or wifi, it just helps me disconnect from my phone some more

I own M3K (previous version of M3 Pro). Fiio website does add updates. They are not very timely, but the updates do get added, and usually solves the issues that updates can. I have updated my firmware twice from their official website.
