Super* Review Hey man could you please review the Aonic 50 since these are more neutral headphones? I’d be interested to know if you think they sound good even if they’re wireless. Thanks
I've had a few expensive DAPs - and got bored of them breaking - so moved 'down' to a Fiio M3k. .. sound quality great, plays flacs and wavs, robustness great, no useless/unwanted stuff like bluetooth or wifi, easy to turn off the screen, single sd slot, no android bloat rubbish - just a good quality music playing DAP, with no lag, able to play massive files - a player where Fiio had focused putting my money into the exact right places - THE. EXACT. RIGHT. PLACES. I'd watched reviews with people lambasting the lack of bluetooth and android - and I'm like 'GREAT - JUST what I want!' Even the UI and physical interface was ok - because everything else was good. But what was wrong with it? Old usb jack - usb C would be nicer - and ok if you could make it touchscreen that would actually be kinda nice. Sure - I'll pay an extra £20 for that - just please don't start adding other stuff I don't ever want. BOOM! M3 Pro. There it is. I understand the niggly nature of the above video - it's a review - you've gotta find stuff to yap about. BUT - there is not a single thing ACTUALLY bad or wrong with this player. The yappy moaning about buttons - nonsense - you press play, you turn off the screen, you use the volume buttons - easy. The yappy moaning about the UI - nonsense - it works amazingly well, easy to navigate huge numbers of folders - back and forth - easy. Use a good app to create your playlists - copy them onto the sd card - perfect. For this price - to get a good hi-res player - with this build quality - with a touch screen - with NO problems. . . . it's a freaking miracle. If they mess with this kind of design it'd be a mistake. I'd only ever recommend THIS player to anybody - I've had far more expensive players.. . and for so many many many reasons they are NOT better than the M3 Pro. Go running with it - drop it on the floor - let your kids mess with it ... . who cares, it breaks, buy another one - BOOM - quality hi-res player for peanuts. I was a bit miffed it didn't come with a nice free case like the M3K . .. . but blimey after 10 mins you realise you don't need it and just shove it in your pocket. Ridiculous quality at an insane price.
I've just got my M3 Pro yesterday and it's amazing. Aside from the not-very-useful apps and non bluetooth DAP because i don't really mind of that, but i love the sound. I have the new batch of tin t2 and the ibasso it00 are great pairing to the m3 pro just on 20-23 level volume and i can enjoy my playlist. Btw, thanks for the review and i just hoping FiiO released some case for this DAP
It's just much easier for me to do live streams vs. editing videos in Premiere. I got some hardware that lets me do live streams just a couple months ago.
I'm a lefty, the fact that the buttons are on the left almost sells me completely. Right handed button layouts really are problematic for me. So at least its a lefty friendly device for a change. :)
I've been using the M3 Pro for about a month now, and all I can say is "It gets the job done". I don't use wireless earphones so the no bluetooth thing I can deal with. The buttons and UX just need some getting used to. The build and size tho, worth the price for something that I know is going to last long. Thanks for reviewing this!
@@josep4259 I'm still using mine daily for almost 1 year now. I dropped it once from a car seat's height and it only managed to cause dots of scratches. To answer your question, yes it is still going strong 💪
Probably going to buy the Fiio M5. Not really because of the bluetooth (though thats not bad to have), but rather because I think it comes with a clip case. Thats just a really nice thing to have for me.
Those chevy bolt references kill me every time 😂. Thanks for the review, I'll be buying a DAP soon and your reviews have been great, specially for someone into digital minimalism. I'll be including some of these DAPS on my upcoming video on the Light Phone 2. Thanks a again for taking the time and creating content on this niche 😁
Hello from Italy..I bought this one and I didn't like very much sound..I use it with line out and Philips portable stereo..I think the high frequency are too bright and mid and bass too weak..maybe I will change with xduoo nano..do you think it is a good choice? Better balanced sound with more bass? Bye
@@SuperReview thank you...funny..now I am using the preset equilizer with DANCE option..and it sounds better..the voice and the high frequency go a little behind and the basses finally show up..if you use this player these days, please try and tell me your opinion..I think fiio M3 pro works enough well only with DANCE equilizer set up. Thank you in advance!
Is the songs you add to a playlist support to play the opposite order you put them in ? Also is the fiio m3 pro suppose to show up on your computer as you connect it to it ?
Playing in reverse order? I'd be surprised if that's supported, but it's not something I tried. I forget what happens when I connect it to a computer, sorry.
Hello, does this have ability to access an album from the all songs screen? For example the ipod touch you can hit a button in the corner of the screen that will bring up the whole album when your playing a song
The price have only partly to do with quality. If this player was engineered and build in the US/ EU the price was at least 3-4 time higher, but not better
Is it worth shelling extra for a DAP? Sorry if this is a dumb question (Because it gets asked a lot on audiophile forums.) I'm currently using a Samsung A10e to stream my personal library. If the sound quality difference is audible, I'm definitely willing to make the investment. Otherwise, I could invest that on another pair of IEMs.
I haven't listened to that phone so I can't say for sure. If audio quality is your main concern, you can make any phone w/ USB-C sound great by getting a Meizu Hifi Pro dongle.
1 how long it plays? 2 can it be locked as several simpler mp3 do and still use +/-vol song selection 3 biggest size SD card? 4 $teteo recording? 5 fx operations? 6 auto volume correction?
Super* Review when testing DAP’s in the future can you please also test with tracks that are 2+ hours in length and see how easy it is to rewind 30 seconds? I’m trying to find a DAP that allows you to skip back or forward 15/30 seconds as I will also use it to listen to podcasts and audio books which on average are 2 hours. Always look forward to your videos, keep up the good work, kind regards.
I can’t find any cases for this. Have your heard of the “JOLIKE M4-32GB-CA”? It’s highly ranked on amazon but maybe a knock off because I can’t find any of the specs for it. Was wondering if you knew anything about, you seem to know your stuff!
Thank you for your review! How do you compare the sound quality of this with Fiio M3k? I understand they use different DAC chips. I prefer a warm, bassy sound and I am a little treble sensitive. I'm looking for a cheap DAP to drive only IEMs that don't need a lot of power and since the M3K is $20 cheaper, I'm wondering if I really need this.
I did not compare them head to head -- in reality I think you would be hard pressed to hear a difference. That said, the M3K uses an AKM chip and M3 Pro uses an ESS chip; AKM has a reputation as a somewhat warmer sound and ESS as a somewhat bright sound. Again, I think the difference is minor.
I have to thank you for this. Lately, I've been trying to look for a separate audio player to not take up to much room in my phone and not use up data with streaming. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile by any stretch, but I do listen to a lot of EDM and want the most out of it. This looks like, for the price, a good player. Just one question, does it come with internal storage or will I have to provide a TF card? Thank you again for this review.
Yeah I’m not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but I don’t like streaming services (it adds up over time and if I find a song and artist I like I’ll likely just buy the album) that and like some songs aren’t available on some services and some versions of the songs I like are only on CDs so my iPhone 7 is massively cluttered with music now and it only has 32GB of storage so freeing up the space would be rad
Both sound great. you'd be hard pressed to discern a difference. I do find the ES DAC in the M3 Pro has a bit of a treble glare, but IMO it's hard to pick out.
Hi Sir, I am also planning to buy headphone amplifier. Can you please suggest which one will be best from below list or any other headphone amplifier below 120 dollars 1) fiio Q1 mark II 2) fiio k3
After seeing your review I bought the device for my son's 9th birthday and wanted to ask you, On which compact (in-ear) headphones can you recommend that they are not too expensive and will still allow you to take advantage of the hearing quality of the device? Thank you very much For your answer!
Lack of BT is a killer. If I could use this as a BT receiver whenever I'm streaming on my phone, and as a DAP when I want to use its standalone storage, it'd check boxes. That's effectively how I use my R3 Pro Saber.
I work in a medical field, and handling hospital charts (Virtually). Confidentiality is top priority. We are allowed to use mp3 player in a restricted area as long as it has no bluetooth on it. Thank you for this review!
Sir asking you for this dap, everytime you charge this player (m3pro), and when already full the battery, is it automatically turning off, long press again the power button to turn on again the player (m3pro) is it normal sir?,,,
Sorry for stupid question, can anyone please tell me about about sound quality of this device in earphones. Does it sound way better than smartphones or there is no such huge difference?
No one has a video on how to add music to an sd card like that. Ive downloaded music but its all over the place. Would be cool if you made a short video on what you speak of.
@@SuperReview thank you for that, I just went into properties and typed in some info about the songs album and artist and it updated just like that. Awesome thanks for the help man.👍
You should check out the HiBy R3 Pro.. It has dedicated track skipping buttons & dedicated volume control buttons. The current cost is *$179 for the standard 'Pro' model and *$209 for the one with the ESS Saber DAC. (The * means the prices are lifted from MusicTeck's website)..
Thanks for his review, it's a good one! Watched it through even though I bought the DAP already :P I just got mine in the mail yesterday from Amazon, what a fantastic little DAP! The build quality is awesome, it sorta reminds me of the iPod Nano 7th gen but with 2020 aesthetics and features. Dedicated buttons (layout aside) and its small size are a big plus. The sound quality is also super nice, even my Fearless S8 Pro (which are quite sensitive) don't pick up any hiss or electronic noise. The super low output impedance also makes the S8P sound basically as it should, and the sound quality absolutely exceeds that of my phone with a dongle. The UI is good too, but I wish album artwork was a bit more visible while browsing music, even if it meant slightly less efficient browsing. This is kind of a personal gripe, since I have a few albums and songs in other languages which makes finding specific songs a bit more tricky without the album art to help me along. I bought this one to supplement my smartphone for listening to music. I really hate dealing with UAPP's driver prompts and weird in-app only implementation for direct audio output when I plug in a dongle. I might just use my wireless earphones with my phone going forward.
help me, my newly bought m3 pro have a delay issues, I tried to set to a low sample on fiio PC software but still the delay is too bad. but my m3k is good, no delay.
I prefer the buttons & UI of the X3ii. The Fiio is sleeker, more modern hardware, and IMO it's better for sensitive IEMs. If I'm buying one, I would probably still go for X3ii.
I'm upgrading from an iPod Classic 120GB from probably over a decade ago. I'm way past being sick of Apple and want better sound with lossless format playback. I think I'm going to go with the M6 over the M3 Pro even though I love the design of the M3 Pro. Mainly because I've read that the M6 has better sound quality and that's the most important thing for me, aside from price. I really want one the higher end Fiio's, but I'm not ready to commit that much money just yet.
Pls help me, I need to decide between these 3 MP3 players Sony Nw a105l, Cowon R2 and FiiO M11. Im using mostly wireless headphones Sony Wh xb900n. Tell me your opinions.
Sir beautiful review I ever watch.., true very credible than the other vlogger, and full detailed.,,, Thank you for this wonderful video. From now Im always watching you everytime you have a new video to review.,,,

@@SuperReview Thanks a lot for the answer, just one more, please: Among the Pro and the K, which one bothers you the most?, speaking about gestures. Thanks again. Greettings!
Ngl, at first i see it strange to see this long and different style of review But i am not hate it and now i really enjoy this live streaming review (of course that time stamps section is awesome touch) And hope i could join when you're live at the future 🍻 Ah really like your Moondrop Starfield and SSR review.. I really want a new IEM, budget wise max is Starfield (and really want that, since i guess the sound character and even the housing build reminds me of my Galaxy T2), Which one you recommend? SSR or Starfield? Or.. Maybe another IEM? That look like Starfield but better Thanks if you replying this 🍻
I personally prefer SSR to Starfield, but they're quite different. I think Starfield will appeal to more people because its tuning is more even with more sub-bass focus. SSR is more midrangey / brighter sound. If your budget goes up to Starfield, my favorite is Etymotic ER2XR. On sale @ Amazon for like $100 right now, which is kinda nuts.
Thanks for the reply! Tbh myself prefer bright (but not that bright) with decent bass like TFZ, but if i go with fast song, the bass kinds move backwards Maybe SSR would suit me more from what you describe there, still not sure if there's better thing than SSR on that price range Again, thanks for the reply!
I’m not an audio expert but definitely check out the KZ ZS10 iems. In the $100 range they are just about as good as it gets and you will even have a little money left over for some foam ear tips and a nicer cable. I’ve tried a few other iems under $100 and even ones that are more expensive than the ZS10 ‘s just don’t sound as good in the price range
Use the device to reformat the memory card (System settings > Storage formatting), usually that resolves any card compatibility issues I've had with players.
They have different strengths. For day to day use, I found the M0 was so small it was a bit hard to use. Mine also had some issues with my memory cards, dunno if common or not.
It's a real missed beat that this doesn't have Bluetooth support. I want a backup dap, something smaller and more portable that can just be kept with me at all times. But it needs to be able to work with my Bluetooth headphones (which are the ones I primarily don't care about the DAP power)
I really hate when they make this really nice mp3 players but screw in the interface and usability. The big deal in the Ipod times was the easy way to swipe through all the collections and play and switch songs really easy and fast. I hate this lag touchscreens and too much gestures to do basic things in this device. I spend more money buying the sony NW A55 only because they've made a pretty good job in the UI of that device and it's really easy and fast choose songs, play, pause, get back to the albuns and all. I understand that a device withouth buttons feels clean and modern, but a mp3 player with buttons in the wrong position and interface confusing (or just too simple) like that it's just bad for me.
The Zishan will probably have stronger power (I didn't compare), and I might even prefer the sound slightly. But the UI on the Zishan is, IMO, unusable.
Hey, I've been watching your reviews because I've been looking for a pair of closed back headphones for almost a week now. My budget was originally around 250 but I discovered that with 100ish I can find a good deal. I LOVE soundstage rich headphones, but closed backs in this seem to be scarce in this aspect. My best option rn is to buy the portapros and the m40x. Can you recommend an alternative to the m40x with more soundstage? I want the porta pros for late nights and the m40x for long road trips as they isolate sound. It would help me A LOT if you answered. New sub btw
@@SuperReview I think I will go for the 1more triple drivers. All the reviews have mentioned that they are very soundstage focused, and right now they are $149. Whats your opinion on this headphones?
This was a very informative and entertaining review, I enjoyed it. I might have to pick one of these up but the not being able to shuffle artists seems to be the biggest downside for me. What do you think are the best mp3 players at this price range? ($60 - $80)
Hi, i know you love the sony NW-A55L i bought one for £150 in the uk and found the uk version has a volume cap which really sucks the usa version is not capped. I personally love the Fiio m3k £50
If you're feeling bold, there's a firmware modification for A55 that I think removes the volume cap. www.head-fi.org/threads/sony-walkman-os-custom-firmware-non-android.943661/
