The Lowlander pub in London had - for more years ago than I want to admit to - a chocolate cake in two parts made from dark and white chocolate - and the Westmalle dubbel was excellent with it. BTW, the Westmalle abbey is in Flanders so you shouldpaobably pronounce that final e too: West mall-ehh. Free food, free beer - but no laundry service? I suppose that "two out of three ain't bad" enogh not to come home.
If I have time I will try to make it to Lowlander. Thanks for the tip! I spent a year in the French speaking part of Belgium so I tend to pronounce also the Flemish beers the French way. You are right though.
