You know how pissed the Vancouver media is about to be that Adam Wylde got this interview? None of them could get 2 sentences out the guy all year. Now he’s just doing interviews? They’re all probably sending angry texts to each other right now as we speak

Real though this is is pretty surprising to me, Hronek’s notoriously avoided the media for his entire career, nobody in Detroit could get much out of him and that stays true in Vancouver. This is far and away the most I’ve heard him say in a single instance in years

Whatever. This is his agents podcast. His agent is a hell of a lot closer to him than the Vancouver media. The Van media did gave him a lot of space and that's good.

It’s the Devon Toews contract. Toews is the steady long term partner to Makar, putting up 50ish points a season, while allowing Makar to to be a Norris Candidate every year. 7.25 is with term is a very fair deal both sides.

Someone told me that Hronek looks like a Hollywood villains evil henchman… And now I can’t unsee it. He’s not the guy that gets killed by the evil boss for failing a task, but the guy the evil boss turns to and says “you’re in charge now.” It was just so specific… but now, I just can’t unsee it.

Great insight from Allan, obviously player biased on what money he could make as a free agent...9.5? Doubt it, but I wouldn't expect an agent to say any different. As a Canucks fan, I'm happy to have Hronek at a fair price that will probably look better as the cap goes up. But the fishing part of the interview with Hronek was rooooouuuuugh 😂

Adam & Allan....take Philip to the Hadai Gwaii....nothing like playing a big salmon....nothing.....big halibut and chinooks up to 40 lbs......The guy is in Vancouver....it's just over a hour flight to Sandspit for example....Phil will come back every summer once he goes once...

I know agents hate the cap and he's right about it. However, the first and most important reason that it's there is that we don't get baseball. Where the richer owners have a unfair advantage. Go into the nhl playoffs with a 80mil team vs a 120mil team and see which one comes out on top It also test managment ability to build a team and not just throw money at team until the problems go away

The salary cap is flawed, but it's the best thing to happen to the league. It has shown the true value of players to a team, become too top heavy, and can't compete in the playoffs. Yeah, you can argue the superstar player salary hasn't risen as much, but the average player salary has more than doubled since it was implemented.

You already have teams going into the playoffs with a 15% -20% salary cap advantage due to taxes in regional areas. Florida had a huge salary cap advantage over Edmonton.

The notion that removing the salary cap would prevent fans from worrying about how much the players make is ridiculous, they just wouldn’t have a hard number to worry about, it would be entirely up to the whim of the owner what the max they could spend is. Also it’s not like having a cap prevents fans from enjoying the sport, the NFLs cap is confusing as hell and fans still watch football.
