Koutev Ensemble brought Balkan dance and singing to us in California in the 1960's and many of us have never looked back. Love the singing, love the dancing.
Just dont represent it as yours, because Ive heard such things. Its part of our identity and milleniums old history, enjoy it, practice with smile and joy, but if anyone ask you just say where its from :) with love from Bulgaria
Thank you for sharing! I have been guest of the Ensemble last 30th of January. I travelled together with them to see the marvellous show they performed in Dimitrovgrad. I have the big honour to know some of them personally. Mr Genov, Mr Andreev and Prof. Mrs Elena Kouteva and some singer of the choir. Love Bulgaria, my secon homeland....greetings from Italy! Sam

I šta reći nego, svaka čast.
❤️❤️❤️🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🌹❤️🌷🌻🇧🇬🌻☘️🌷🌹❤️🌷🌻🇧🇬☘️🌻🇧🇬🇧🇬❤️❤️🌹🌹

This only shows that the celtic-scythian continuity is undeniable! I've been doing comparitive search on traditional European music and dance. Bulgaria is continuous with Ireland and Hungary, we've kept the most of the scythian-celtic-etruscan traditions. No wonder! Both of us: Hungaria and Bulgaria are Atilla's people. I will be translating a great presentation on how in Atilla's time so many calendars getting mixed up were how these judeo-christians managed to seperate our people in time&names.
Not only Bulgaria and Hungary but especially Serbia, Croatia and Romania also represent the Celtic-Scythian culture. Severnjaci, as seen in this video, are part of the Serbian, Romanian and Bulgarian culture.
It has nothing to do with attitude. I could expane you but you would never understand. Attitude? We have turkish political party, news in turkish language, we had turkish minister. Maybe you have an attitude. Shame on you it is 2019...
First of ALL, foreign scientists and all archeological investigations showed that Serbia has the oldest culture in the world. Only SERBIAN last names end in -IC. Hence CeltIC are Serbian. These dances origin from Serbian teritory. Šop, Šopi, Šopovi are Serbian who lived in the South-East Serbia, and unfotulately Bulgarized teritory. If you check the real historical facts, you would know that Bulgarians are Tatars who came to Balkan in 5th century and assimilated with LOCAL Slavic Šops. Šops are Serbian.
@@esocida There isn't a point on arguing to whom the dance is, Danube is a big artery that connects places, why do you expect nothing to travel from us to them or from Romania to us? And why is that a problem here, isn't it good?
People, this is nothing like "Lord of the Dance"/"Sultans of the Dance"/e.t.... This is authentic Bulgarian Folklore and nothing else. This is a history of 1300 years - living, going through, mixing with many different tribes during that time, everlasting pure Bulgarian culture. Please, don't make the false impression about Lords/Sultans... I'd rather see the opposite... To know better, you should see the music, too.
Authentic ? You're kidding, right ? Filip Kutev ensemble of music, danse and songs never claimed to be authentic. When he was alive, Filip said that he was using bulgarian tradition to build something new inspired by the tradition. - The choir is not traditional. Rural singing was made alone or possibly in duets with a lot of enharmonies. He has invented the 3 of 4 parts melodic structures based on some of these typical enharmonies, but they are completely new arrengments. - Same for the music. Ancient Bulgarian music uses the gajda, the kaval, the tapan and later, the gadulka and the tambura. That's all. The Filip Kutev Folk Ensemble is more a big orchestra, vith traditionnal instruments and others, like violins, viola, cello, double bass, accordion ... The harmonies and rythm patterns are far more sophisticated than traditional bulgarian music. - Concerning the dances, the basic steps are used to form a traditionnal horo (circle dance). What Kutev has added is choregraphy, costumes and eventually new steps.
All the Slavic affinity of the Bulgarian to the Slavic blood is just a political lie. Folklore dance is revealing this truth since old times and now the DNA test are reveling it too!!! This dance is related with a very similar dance from Romania which is dated since pre-Christian times... can you imagine how deep/old and common are our roots?
What we believe is that we have a lot of thracian not just slavic, so this isn't a secret. The topic is the bulgar thing as other slavic people that hate us use it to say we don't belong to them. From the start of history in school you can see that we comprehend that is a union of people who cohse the name bulgarians and united in time. There are more theories as for origin but I won't mention them until they can be properly explained.
I would just say they are mixed, more over we feel like the dances in the Balakns that we have are inherited by the Thracians and many elements remained, for you I think is the same. I wouldn't call them just vlachs, this would just mean that you would like to make bulgarians your people which is rude and most likely not true. Rivers are the best place for connections and spreading ideas so you see the result when Danube is the biggest here, this shouldn't mean who is who, you might have gotten it from us but I wouldn't claim just because i like it so.
Valahians are romanized Bulgarians. You expelled from your language thousands (even tens of thousands) Bulgarian words in the last three centuries... ;-)

This dance is beautiful, but i supose they are "vlahi" because all dialogs are in romanian language (e.g. "Hai la hora sa jucam si apoi ne maritam" - Let's play the "horo" dance and then we will marry - min 1:25").
My friend, first of all, if you see this as imitation of the Lord of the Dance, you know nothing about Romanian folklore. The first sequence is Bulgarian dance with Romanian influence. Probably Northern Bulgaria. And second of all, Bulgarian and Serbian folklore are about as similar as eye and ass. Similarities can be found in southern Serbia, due to the mixing of Bulgarians and Serbians (Torlaks).
You want to say forcefully Bugarized Serbian Šops. Therećs clear difference in fizionomz of Tatars and blond beautiful Šops among eastern Bulgaria. Round face, blonde, nice light eyes. Even complete stranger can distinguish Serbian Šops in Sofia from dark Tatars with characteristical skin and eyes.

Hey dude, if you have no clue then don't write, history is not made for nationalists. Severnjaci are historically only Serbians and Romanians and ethnically also Bulgarians, since the Bulgarians have conquered and assimilated the eastern parts of Shopluk. Nish of course has been under bulgarian control, so has Veliki Tarnowo under serbian control, that doesn't mean, that it is serbian or bulgarian, it's history.
